there is a gsb version 3 release where it has upgrades binder support with headphone pins and the binders can support its own weight. 1/72 is huge and looks amazing. Fully extended its 3 feet wide and 20 inches tall.
[slow R-L glamour pan across the Ksatriya] 4:05 -- "It is absolutely, as they say in England, an absolute unit." I haven't felt a feel like this since the BBC killed _Top Gear_ back in 2015. Gundam's definitely doing something right.
Finally got my hands on the green version. Some odd choices where made in the design (like why are the shoulder parts plastic and then the elbows metal?!?) but it's still the best option for haveing a 1:100 scale in my opinion. I've just finished stripping this beauty down to the metal frame to clean up and give this thing a proper repaint. Don't get me wrong, the paint is great, but there are quite a few mold marks and rough sections that stand out too much for me. And of course, this thing needs to be panel lined, some surface modifcations, and given some extra TLC while it's stripped down. So much that it would make Marida Cruz blush. I'll post a video of the process soon.
Those 4 "shields" are called "binders". Plus if you look closely on those "binders" they are actually resembles the head of an Elephant. The claws are actually the elephant's trunk. Since the MS is called "Kshatriya" that's a big ringer that the theme came from India... hence the 4 sided elephant head binders.
I have the green version, liked it so much I bought a 2nd one for when I every lose or break anything on the 1st one. It's really a great model and the best version of a 1/100 scale Kshatriya we will ever get.
I've always loved the Kshatriya, ever since I first seen in in the Unicorn show. I have both model kits built and one still sealed and really wish they could engineer a 1/100 version either MG or that RE:1/100. Hell if it was even a P Bandai kit I'd still seek it out!

I see lots of reddit posts of peoples first brush painted models and its not a pretty sight. I can't think of one reason why I would brush paint a base coat on any kit if I had spray cans or airbrush. Details, and weathering the brush is your friend. Large flat pieces, spray is da way.
I wish I could be on your level of keeping the depression at bay and painting beauteous mecha. I know you got this pre-painted but I know your work and I love it.
Always loved this suit right up there with 08th MS team suits. I’m pretty much a live or die UC guy while I did enjoy some of the other series being ex military I enjoyed UCs closer touch to reality.

Saw the thumbnail, thought you took the Elyn kit and painted it red 😏NeoGrade version was a 1/100 chunk of tan resin :) great kit, but had some flaws IMO which SMS later took and corrected (it had skinny proportions and old Zeon logo on the back skirt). The 1/72 massive kit you are referring to I believe is the G-System Shop versión. Cheers!
Maybe get the Mersa full resin kit? It’s a 1/100 mishmash under $200 bucks of SMS/Neograde and other things... looks good, but might require a ton of resin work that most people aren’t willing to put into 🤓

Still hoping one day Bandai will one day make an actual MG of this guy. I also hope they will make an RG but both of those might be just wishing. That said, given how many people have said they want an MG Kshatriya they would be absolutely stupid not to make it.

It looks so cool and imposing but a little gripe I have with it is the shoulder armor pieces and the paint on it. The white and yellow look a bit plain but not sure if its the video. I prefer green as well and it would be amazing if you can take it apart and repaint it with more tonal changes. this and the sazabi are my favorite bulky ms without looking like a mess off too mutch parts sticking out ,i wil probably get a conversion kit for the kshatriya i think there is one that uses the sazabi frame

Great looking model. Part of me hates looking at any of the 1/100 Kshatriya kits though because I pre-ordered and fully paid for the Elyn Hobby 1/100 kit directly from Elyn themselves when it was still in prototyping annnnnd I never received it, might as well have just burnt that money.

There are a lot of plastic model kits for zoids and evangelion. Mostly made by Kotobukiya. Also there are official metal build evangelion but you are looking at $300ish >.
After seeing this video, I think I want one now. Haha! Bulky Mechas with Metal joints are a win win. :) Anyway. How do the joints hold up after owning it for years? Also I saw some shops selling this for cheap but it seems sketchy. Or maybe just me for not knowing how much this really costs SRP.

The Panels you refer to here are incorrectly assembled. As part of the tear down, I took them off, reversed the direction the the arms, and they work perfectly to slide back and reveal the panels correctly. The Buttflap is a just a janky design and I rebuilt it. I'll post a video of my full repaint as soon as I'm done with it.
Well technically there are a total of 3 variants (including the standard): NZ-666 Kshatriya NZ-666 Kshatriya Besserung NZ-666 Kshatriya Repaired I have to say that I am surprised that we don't even have a Real Grade of it. I am not sure a Master Grade version will really be feasible without it having a very high price. I have to say, even though this is not an official product, it looks cool. The fact that this needs metal joint parts to be able to hold up parts ... I think that is probably why Bandai most likely won't make an MG. I think at best, we'll get an RG of it. Anyway for fans, this will be a nice product to own in your collection. But again, I think Bandai should _at least_ make a Real Grade for: NZ-666 Kshatriya NZ-666 Kshatriya Besserung NZ-666 Kshatriya Repaired It'd go well with the RGs released so far from _Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn_ kits. This is no longer easily available. Apparently Bandai and the Chinese authorities had raided the factory and taken the casting molds back in April. Also affected were some Baofeng Model 1/144 figures and the 1/100 Metal Build Jiang Gao Red Shark Sazabi.

The neograde version was 1/100, sms copyed and did reversion. G systems and gsb did the 1/72 but it can barely stand on its own and binder will break.

I have to say that I am surprised that we don't even have a Real Grade of it.
I am not sure a Master Grade version will really be feasible without it having a very high price.
I have to say, even though this is not an official product, it looks cool.
The fact that this needs metal joint parts to be able to hold up parts ...
I think that is probably why Bandai most likely won't make an MG.
I think at best, we'll get an RG of it.
Anyway for fans, this will be a nice product to own in your collection.
But again, I think Bandai should _at least_ make a Real Grade for:

This is no longer easily available. Apparently Bandai and the Chinese authorities had raided the factory and taken the casting molds back in April. Also affected were some Baofeng Model 1/144 figures and the 1/100 Metal Build Jiang Gao Red Shark Sazabi.
