- Hi all. Today I've decided to showcase an alternate method to making a Psionic Warrior, my most popular build. This isn't meant to replace the old build, but cover the topic in a different way in order to fix some gripes people had with the old build.

I recommend grabbing Concentrated Blast, Psionic Backlash, and Stage Fright as early as possible.

Since I first played D&D I fell in love with mind flayer and their unique ability of psionics. Everyone on here using dang mods for Aberration Wizards pisses me off since I’m on PS5. But your beautiful video here has made my dreams come true. Thanks you Hobo💜
I watched your previous build and theorycrafted an answer of my own, which went as follows:
Wild Magic Sorcerer 1 (Wanted to test [Tides of Chaos], the description makes it sound really powerful. Con proficiency and shield spells are nice)(Change to White-Dragon Bloodline for Agathys, or Storm for flight if [Tides of Chaos] turns out not to work with melee)
War Cleric 1 (Heavy armor, extra melee attacks, useful low level spells)
Divination Wizard 4 (Portent Dice, Transcribe Spells, Feat)
Sword Bard 6 (Extra Attack, Multi-attacks, Thematically appropriate spells)
Feats would be Dual-Wielding and ASI: Strength. With the 17 INT circlet you'll have enough stats to cast both Bard and Wizard spells effectively enough, and the strength to be useful in melee.
Alternatively one could go without the circlet and rely on elixirs for strength instead but that requires a bit of preparation which is too much of a hassle for me.
The whole thing reaches full potency somewhat late though, so I'd probably just level as a pure Bard until level 7 before respecing.
I'm thinking about doing a build like a control warrior for Lae'zel, but looking at the wiki and watching your videos on the Gith theme, my build idea is getting further and further away lorewise like I would it like to be, I was thinking in something like fighter and paladin, but I'm leaning towards doing a sword bard with maybe a dip in paladin so I can have most if not all of the enchantment spells with her. So back to the planning table for now. Good video as always.
Another fun thing you can do for multiclassing is picking one that gives heavy armor proficiency so you can wear the Emperors "Cerebral Citadel Armor" which fits the theme great and looks amazing, plus this can give you access to more attacks if you choose something like Fighter. Could even just go all in warlock until you get the armor and the reclass then because the Githyanki medium armor you can get in Act 2 from the Vlaakiths lackies is pretty solid before then.
I considered a 1 level dip into Vlaakith war cleric for this! Bonus action attacks and heavy armour
That's exactly what I did. Full lore bard, then I went the tentacle road and respecced with fighter for the heavy armor. I'm a deep gnome with proficiencies in wisdom, charisma, int and constitution... + the bonuses! Jenelle is a radiant lady and I had to change my abjuration Gale to necro because it was overkill.
But having a tiny mind altering emperor is so fun!
I've never done an Illithid power run but I had seen the thematic cohesion between them and GOO Warlock, I may give it a go. Though I'd go for more of a manipulative caster vibe.
Instead of bard consider taking the thief class so you get two bonus actions and then you go to the gith and use the chair making your worm abilities work off bonus actions.
For my optimize base on this theme. I would recommend using arcane synergy instead strange conduit to add up charisma mod to second attack from pact of the blade for a little min-maxing ( 1st Mh attack > Vicious Mockery, any illusion or enchant as situation go on > 2nd Mh attack ) as for RP reason, your 1st attack rend enemy phychic to and cast a spell to empower your weapon attack. It's similar to the Inquisitor but for us it just work on the difference way. I feel so sorry for physchic user, there're not much option in this game until the endgame or you're not hesitage to take a glicth way or just end up to be EB user insteaded. Btw I enjoy your videos, priority on lore rather than min-max that keep fueled the build and playthrough.

I’m always that kind of player that builds don’t always have to be min max/overpowered-just as long as they are interesting and fun🎲✨
5:40 That depends on the skill. it's true for most yes, but for strength and constitution the odd numbers actually do help- odd numbers on strength will still increase your jumping distance and carrying capacity, and odd numbers on constitution will increase your hp by a bit (except for the hp you get at lvl 1) you can see it when you respec/get to lvl 8/12, just take the ASI, look at your character's hp and click the constitution. HP will go up on every point increase, not just on the even numbers.
Hungar of Hadar and black hole is just a fun combo
18:00 Warlock gets all the most important bonuses on lvls 1,2,3,4,5 (arguably also 6, depending on how important that sub-class feature is to you- the 'archfey' one is especially powerful for certain play-styles. Free invisibility after being hit, and then free misty step? for an Astarion? Count me tf in, that sounds like some serious vampire shit) and then at 11 and 12. Which means that if you're going to multiclass, you don't want to go more than 5 lvls into warlock because you already got 90% of all the good stuff this class provides, and it means you're loosing levels from that potential multiclass. Going into a multiclass right before lvl 11 is... I'm sorry to say it like that but that sounds like sabotage.
You were about to get a +50% increase to the number of spell slots, (9 vs 6 per long rest 12vs8 if you have a bard in a team) and a free 6th lvl spell of your choice, which includes EYEBITE, ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL CONTROL SPELLS IN THE GAME. (I mention it specifically due to the whole theme of this character) and then at lvl 12 you get a feat, and a "Lifedrinker" eldritch invocation?
My man that's a real stinker move.
No possible multiclass can compare to:
A feat- especially that one of those feats can be A GREAT WEAPON MASTER- FOR +10 DAMAGE.
50% more spell slots, and FREE EYEBITE.
And free, flat +6 damage (at 22 charisma- following your guide, we'd get that with either the 'birthright' hat or mirror of loss) on all your attacks. (For those who don't know, from BG3wiki: "Lifedrinker 12 Your melee attacks deal additional necrotic damage equal to your Charisma modifier.")
Yeah, you're probably right. It's just that people call my builds boring if I just stick to one class, so I try to avoid it where possible. I also wanted to showcase the combo with the Mystic Scoundrel Ring and Vicious Mockery. However going Warlock 12 is most likely the most powerful option.
On my second (now evil) playthrough and I still haven't managed to get Ethel's boon. First playthrough I summoned the ogres with the horn and they hoofed her into the void. Second playthrough, my oathbreaker paladin did some sort of outrageous stacked crit with divine smite and killed her outright in the Teahouse.
My favourite build, I am going to put it into practice but I will do it with all levels of warlock❤❤❤
Happy to see more exploration into the original build. Would the build still hold as a caster (obviously changing out the martial aspects of warlock) with keeping the same theme?
Yeah for the most part. But I do think my original build is a better caster.
I absolutely adore ur vids, they gave me some inspos for future playthroughs! I have an idea - how about something like an inquisitor in pathfinder? a cleric who's also something of an assassin. I know that rogue/cleric sounds weird but Im curious about how it could work.

Go bard and splash sorcerer, that way u get access to lvl 6 spells, double strike and meta magic. Or forgo lvl 6 spells and go 9 bard 3 thief for extra bonus action which allows u to use up to 2 illithid abilities per turn if u have the zaith isk awakened buff

Paladin warlock is much better. 2 levels on Paladin to get Psionic smite and thunder smite, command and hold person, then the other 10 levels on warlock to get pact of the blade and extra attack plus psionic spells.
What background do you use?
you could do dualwield as one feat, and use the sword render of mind and body, and the sword of screams, and have that character hold the resonance stone
Concentrated blast makes true strike less garbage.
Yeah but you could just cast... any other concentration spell and it would be more useful
Not something you should do but could you make showcase/gameplay of builds a lot longer? Not being able to actually see what the build does in different battles feels meh
