Along with the hood latch being on the right/passenger side, looks like they also didn't switch the button for Drive on the dash - makes sense to be on the far right for a right hand drive car - closer to the driver. But seems far away from the driver for a left hand drive car.
That whole set up seems very convoluted and dumb. It's either stretching to reach Drive or stretching to reach Reverse, who thought it was a good idea to put that on the very top of the dash when the center console is much more easily reached.
I like push button autos, but the buttons should be clustered together on the driver's side of dash between the steering wheel and the door, like how they were on 1950's Dodges/Chryslers. In the UK all bonnet (hood) release handles are on the passenger side of the car. This is a safety feature so drivers using the peddles don’t catch the release handle with their legs. This is something you’ll see on all British made cars.
Hopefully Aston will make enough money with those SUVs to finish the Valkyrie. The people that paid the deposits are probably getting pretty pissed by now 😆
The valkyrie has been done for some time, customer cars have been delivered. Anyone who put a deposit on a tesla cybertruck or roadster though... those guys are fucked 😆

It rains more in America than the UK. And regards the bonnet release, why don’t left hand drive cars move it to the opposite side when cars are modified for sale in Britain and other right hand drive markets? Answer, because they can’t be arsed.
As a German I'm happy Aston Martin created this along with other new Aston Martin with the Help of Mercedes-Benz. Though it's a shame about that Infotainment System, but i'm glad it's not Touchscreen and i'm sure others agree. Prost & Cheers from the Bavarian Alps
"Loud" start mode sounds quieter than my old 17 Chevy SS sedan when it was still stock! Once I put 1 7/8" headers, no cats, Kooks exhaust and a big cam, that SS woke the dead. It was OFFENSIVE when it started up😂
Granted a lot of other SUVs stretch the definition too so it's not strictly the Model X, but I'd personally consider the Model X an egg minivan more than anything. Like a modern day fast Previa.
I think this is the first time i ever heard him using the 0-60 time from a magazine and not manufacturer times. NO WAY does the cayenne, x5, e63 and rs6/rsq8 look better than the DBX!!!! It's funny how you have all the german cars higher in styling!!

At least i can get a jacuzzi hottub for less than 50% retail though lol
Because a Forza Horizon five I’ve recently fallen in love with the DDX since it’s a car pass. In my opinion it’s one of the most beautiful SUVs ever built
Every button font in that center console is also in any 63/6.3 - 65/6.5 liter Mercedes.. those exhaust tips and suspension icon are unmistakably Benz. Best hustlers in the business
Have you considered doing a POV camera for the drive portion.. seeing nothing but your face the entire time doesn’t really do much for the viewing experience
Most people don't realize the reason why the hood/bonnet release is in the passenger side footwell is because traditionally in the old days of cross-country GT racing, you would always have a passenger to act as navigator and mechanic. If an issue with the engine came up while driving, you would pull over and say something like "oh bugger, the engine is boiling....Jeeves, be a good man and check under the bonnet, will you?". And that's why the hood release is on the passenger side. From what I understand it's also reversed on the right hand drive models too for that very reason.... it's just an old British tradition. Sort of like how Porsche carries on the old racing tradition of placing the ignition key on the left side of the steering wheel, so you could hop in and start up with your left hand, while quickly slamming it into 1st gear with your right hand.
The DBX 707 has a 15/20 mpg rating which didn’t work for me since I commute a lot, so I went with a 2015 Honda CRV instead

It is a bargain it will be worth $100k in one year from now
Man! That's a lot of HP! I've seen a few of these in my city, but I didn't know it was that powerful!
So basically it’s a luxury version of the Jeep trackhawk
Doug, I just want to say thank you. In a world of intense instability, your regular reviews provide me a consistency that helps me relax and switch off from all the other shit going on. Please never change your format and keep doing what you’re doing.
Nice paint job..0-60 in 3.1 is wickedly quick.
Lambo urus and gle 63amg coupe are my favorite coupe' style suv's

In the UK all bonnet (hood) release handles are on the passenger side of the car.
This is a safety feature so drivers using the peddles don’t catch the release handle with their legs.
This is something you’ll see on all British made cars.
Hopefully Aston will make enough money with those SUVs to finish the Valkyrie. The people that paid the deposits are probably getting pretty pissed by now 😆
The valkyrie has been done for some time, customer cars have been delivered. Anyone who put a deposit on a tesla cybertruck or roadster though... those guys are fucked 😆
@@dustyice3110 I meant finish the production of the Valkyries. They have delivered far fewer cars than what they promised.

They should have made 500 Valkyries and 100 AMR Pros. Would have made billions.
nope they are just enjoying there other toys until its delivered, so much toys to play. 😔
I just detailed the DBX V8 today and my goodness that is one hell of a supercar/SUV!!!
Doug is the type of guy to say, " 540 horsepower is not enough"!
The DBX 707hp wasn't enough for my upper class standards, so I went with a 120hp Hyundai Venue instead.
Yes I was thinking $280k for a car was quite an economical choice 😂 it’s all relative!
I take it you don't like Alpha Romeo, I have one. It's the Stelvio Quadrifoglio, I absolutely love it. It's red and is 505 hp. 0 to 60 in 3.4 sec. If you haven't reviewed one, take a look into it. Blessing
The part where Doug said _IT'S QURKIN' TIME!_ 😛 literally gave me chills.
Truly breathtaking writing
It was one of the car reviews of all time
Bravo Doug
@@aznanimegob Absolutely the most review lately
And quirked all over us! Truly one of the moments of all time
It's truly the moment Doug became Walter Jr
Don't forget, the Jeep Trackhawk also has over 700 HP.
American car brands making Europeans laughable since 1908
Don't forget model x plaid has ober 1000hp while beaing cheaper to drive...
@@thanosianthemadtitanic and its 0-60 mph is ?
@@lukabosnjak3829 Yeah, but it is electric. Therefore it loses by default.
And is slow compared to this, the Cayenne Turbo GT, Audi RSQ8, BMW X6M Competition, so on and so forth.
It rains more in America than the UK.
And regards the bonnet release, why don’t left hand drive cars move it to the opposite side when cars are modified for sale in Britain and other right hand drive markets? Answer, because they can’t be arsed.
The updated look is so much better 🔥🔥🔥
As a German I'm happy Aston Martin created this along with other new Aston Martin with the Help of Mercedes-Benz.
Though it's a shame about that Infotainment System, but i'm glad it's not Touchscreen and i'm sure others agree.

Definitely going to make this car a priority for myself
If you're putting the Trackhawk in the comparison at the end, shouldn't you put the Rivian R1S there, too?
gorgeous, looks much better than the standard one

"Loud" start mode sounds quieter than my old 17 Chevy SS sedan when it was still stock! Once I put 1 7/8" headers, no cats, Kooks exhaust and a big cam, that SS woke the dead. It was OFFENSIVE when it started up😂
LOVE THIS SUV SO MUCH!! Maybe one of the best looking SUV’s right next to the X5M Competition.

I live within walking distance of that dealership. I wish I had known when Doug was going to be down there. I would have liked to meet him .
I don’t understand all these “fastest suv ever tested in 0-60” claims that completely ignore the model x plaid. Is it not considered an suv?
No
Here is the recommended clip of Doug shorts :-
th-cam.com/video/QbHAaWyFCz4/w-d-xo.html
Right?!
Granted a lot of other SUVs stretch the definition too so it's not strictly the Model X, but I'd personally consider the Model X an egg minivan more than anything. Like a modern day fast Previa.
@@shroomyesc very true
It looks so clean, wonder how it would compete against the trackhawk considering they’re both cinder blocks on wheels
I would like too see that to and add a hellcat Durango
I think this is the first time i ever heard him using the 0-60 time from a magazine and not manufacturer times. NO WAY does the cayenne, x5, e63 and rs6/rsq8 look better than the DBX!!!! It's funny how you have all the german cars higher in styling!!

Saying that it's incredibly quick while going uphill at 18:17 on Newport Coast Drive is saying something!
Happy Gilmore accomplished that feat no more than an hour ago
I was so close to getting an aston martin. My wife works for jacuzzi corportaion and they were bought by an investment corportaiom that owned the aston martin and ducati brands. I wpuld have gotten any aston martin at BUILD COST(which is about 40% of their MSRP) . But then covid happened and the parent company sold aston martin :( . At least i can get a jacuzzi hottub for less than 50% retail though lol
Wow it sounds gnarly!
Because a Forza Horizon five I’ve recently fallen in love with the DDX since it’s a car pass. In my opinion it’s one of the most beautiful SUVs ever built
Not making it a crossover would have had the biggest effect on air flow 😂

Every button font in that center console is also in any 63/6.3 - 65/6.5 liter Mercedes.. those exhaust tips and suspension icon are unmistakably Benz. Best hustlers in the business
It's not enough you're in a 200K Aston Martin, it has to be in "Fish Bate Yellow".
Which goes along with its ridiculously ugly front end that looks like an alien catfish.
Love that you have ‘regular’ version for some of the side by sides
I showed this to my dad that is a massive car guy and he unironically said "woah, is that the new fiesta?" Lmao
Lol!
It’s the ugliest Aston Martin I’ve ever seen, but that’s ok because 700 hp🤣
Your dad must be blind.
Brilliant! I guess Aston Martin haven't completely lost their Ford tech and influence from the previous generation 🤣🤣🤣
people acting like aston stole the design and not the other way round will always be funny to me
of course the hood latch is on the passenger side, they have to cut costs somewhere to squeeze into the tight 240k
Here is the recommended clip of Doug shorts :-

It’s not a big deal. It’s not like you’re opening the bonnet everyday
they have it like that in every aston, it's more of a tradition to them
Apparently it's on the passenger side in the UK too, so not a cost cutting measure
@@yitzele wtf why lmao, bri'n bein bri'ish I guess

Have you considered doing a POV camera for the drive portion.. seeing nothing but your face the entire time doesn’t really do much for the viewing experience

@@witness1013 I believe him. Life happens like that all the time. You’re just in the right place at the right time and things just align together.
