I think this is one of the best looking SUVs on the road. I dropped by the Aston Martin Newport Beach on my bicycle and they were really nice and professional. Even offered a test drive without even asking.
Coolest Quirk of the video are those slick license "plates" that Aston Newport seems to have. Looks like an E-Ink screen they can program with the temp registration, or have it in a display mode. Seen these in grocery stores for quickly adjusting prices, but never seen one on a car. Reminds me of the old "rotate a plate" James Bond gadget in the DB5 :)
Funny. Because I've never seen those. I wrote a comment about them asking if those are really digital license plates? I noticed he didn't point them out.

Not about the car, but I think it's neat that the dealer is using the digital e-ink license plates on their vehicles. They advertise the dealership until a car goes on a test drive at which point they change it to show dealer plates. Better than having to prop a plate in the back window or risk scratching the paint with the magnet backed plate. Only legal in a few states, but kind of neat to see.

@@MrManBuzz Well yes and no. Personally I hate when they make everything touch controlled. Sure it looks nice, but buttons just works better when you use them while driving. (Most companies also do that because it's cheaper to slap a screen on the dash. But that's just my opinion. 😊 I do however agree with the fact that it is a bit dated. They should have touch control on the few things they do have on the screen.
Its interesting because the Urus looks cheaper, the interiors aren't as beautiful and despite the audi touches, they also feel dated inside at least on video and yet, Aston martin cant sell this even being cheaper while urus demand is forever increasing apparently. I haven't driven them but I dont think any of the owners care about driving performance. The urus might be a better a car, who knows, but this 707 feels more special than the incoming performante which looks Mansoryed. I think for the future really fast suv they should make the whole front end one big grille. It’s almost just as much a competition as the power and speed
Along with the hood latch being on the right/passenger side, looks like they also didn't switch the button for Drive on the dash - makes sense to be on the far right for a right hand drive car - closer to the driver. But seems far away from the driver for a left hand drive car.
That whole set up seems very convoluted and dumb. It's either stretching to reach Drive or stretching to reach Reverse, who thought it was a good idea to put that on the very top of the dash when the center console is much more easily reached.
I like push button autos, but the buttons should be clustered together on the driver's side of dash between the steering wheel and the door, like how they were on 1950's Dodges/Chryslers. The hood release in the passenger footwell is a tradition from the old days where you would always keep a mechanic with you as a passenger while doing open road cross-country GT races.
It rains more in America than the UK. And regards the bonnet release, why don’t left hand drive cars move it to the opposite side when cars are modified for sale in Britain and other right hand drive markets? Answer, because they can’t be arsed.
My neighbor just got one of these in that darkish green, it looks alright. She replaced her Bentley Bentayga with it, not sure about that decision, I think the Bentley had way more presence.

I live within walking distance of that dealership. I wish I had known when Doug was going to be down there. I would have liked to meet him .
The updated look is so much better 🔥🔥🔥
Saying that it's incredibly quick while going uphill at 18:17 on Newport Coast Drive is saying something!
So basically it’s a luxury version of the Jeep trackhawk
“540hp is low”
_cries in my 170hp 10 year old Outback which is by far the nicest and fastest car I’ve ever owned_
This ford puma looks really good🥴
looks nothing alike 💀
21:56 that's some crazy image stabilization wonkiness from the camera/phone. Looks like the car is floating.
Yes I was thinking $280k for a car was quite an economical choice 😂 it’s all relative!
It rains more in America than the UK.
And regards the bonnet release, why don’t left hand drive cars move it to the opposite side when cars are modified for sale in Britain and other right hand drive markets? Answer, because they can’t be arsed.
Wow it sounds gnarly!
My neighbor just got one of these in that darkish green, it looks alright. She replaced her Bentley Bentayga with it, not sure about that decision, I think the Bentley had way more presence.
Damn she rich
gorgeous, looks much better than the standard one

Love that you have ‘regular’ version for some of the side by sides
Definitely going to make this car a priority for myself
I like how it looks. It's a bit reminiscent of the Porsche and the Lamborghini
I don’t understand all these “fastest suv ever tested in 0-60” claims that completely ignore the model x plaid. Is it not considered an suv?
No

Right?!
Granted a lot of other SUVs stretch the definition too so it's not strictly the Model X, but I'd personally consider the Model X an egg minivan more than anything. Like a modern day fast Previa.
@@shroomyesc very true
This has to be one of the craziest, most insane exotic SUV’s on sale
Hopefully Aston will make enough money with those SUVs to finish the Valkyrie. The people that paid the deposits are probably getting pretty pissed by now 😆
The valkyrie has been done for some time, customer cars have been delivered. Anyone who put a deposit on a tesla cybertruck or roadster though... those guys are fucked 😆
@@dustyice3110 I meant finish the production of the Valkyries. They have delivered far fewer cars than what they promised.

They should have made 500 Valkyries and 100 AMR Pros. Would have made billions.
nope they are just enjoying there other toys until its delivered, so much toys to play. 😔
This car is phenomenal! Also, I love your shirt! Thanks for sharing! I love the colors too! 💚
Nice paint job..0-60 in 3.1 is wickedly quick.
Lambo urus and gle 63amg coupe are my favorite coupe' style suv's

LOVE THIS SUV SO MUCH!! Maybe one of the best looking SUV’s right next to the X5M Competition.

Because a Forza Horizon five I’ve recently fallen in love with the DDX since it’s a car pass. In my opinion it’s one of the most beautiful SUVs ever built
23" tyres, now they are definitely going to be pricey and hard to come by. I know from my experience working in a tyre shop that anything 20" and above is costly and can be a pain to get a hold of.

"Loud" start mode sounds quieter than my old 17 Chevy SS sedan when it was still stock! Once I put 1 7/8" headers, no cats, Kooks exhaust and a big cam, that SS woke the dead. It was OFFENSIVE when it started up😂
Perfect timing I literally saw this exact car in this color last night for the first time
No you didn't

Have you considered doing a POV camera for the drive portion.. seeing nothing but your face the entire time doesn’t really do much for the viewing experience
Awesome I'm 61, I have an 8yr. Old boy RUSSELL 😊 ASTON MARTIN IS OUR FAVORITE!!!!
I think this is the first time i ever heard him using the 0-60 time from a magazine and not manufacturer times. NO WAY does the cayenne, x5, e63 and rs6/rsq8 look better than the DBX!!!! It's funny how you have all the german cars higher in styling!!
