So from what I understand there was a lot of tension in Pitts locker room and inconsistency with the QBs and their play. Johnson wanted out !! As a Panther I’m thrilled to have him !!! We were going to cut Jackson , so I’m happy we got a good receiver

Unfortunatly DJ isn`t that much better. Yes, he is a really good route runner but he has some other special attributes. If you need 5 yards DJ is constantly give you 3 yards. Typical DJ is: Catching the ball right on the sticks, running 5 yards backwards and try to fake out defenders. Fails and run sideways for 8 yards and make 3 yards at the end.
Get also ready for a lot of dropped balls and complaining about everyone except himself. DJ is a real diva that never get near his potential.
He could be one of the best in the league but his ego is greater than every stadium and the team.

Keon looks like our guy. Fell far enough after the combine, and a lot of teams might overpick on AD, and, like 89 said, force him into a spot that will hard his development. Keon is probably the most day one ready wideout outside of the big three names at the moment.

Yes, my 1qb league dynasty qb is russell wilson (Rodgers is also on my roster but I've been using wilson for many years) and I have Dionte, also. I was happy to have the Pitt connection...for all of a day and a half!!
As a Steelers fan he definitely wanted out. If you watch his film over the years he’s really good but not elite. He gives up on plays, doesn’t block, had a lot of tension in the locker including a big spat with mincha last year when he didn’t go for a fumble, he also runs backwards or sideways constantly.
I like dionta Johnson last year he was hurt but when he rolled back he was a good flex wr3 and at his ceiling wr2 production if you get lucky. I like him being a number 1 in Carolina with Pickens being a number 1. They both will be solid wr3 options or 2s in fantasy

DJ was frustrated with the Steelers QB play, and publicly expressed support for Mason Rudolph. Panthers have a great acquisition in Johnson. As a Steelers fan, I hate this trade.

Johnson is probably the best route runner in the league. As a Steelers fan I'm going to miss his play. But to be honest he's not the most trustworthy catcher either which was why his Cotract was always in question because he knows he could have done better & Pittsburgh knew they could have done better on their end w/ the QB. BUT with an aging Big Ben he was able to turn Johnson into a pro bowler so hopefully carolina has a plan at QB with Young.
Not to mention he gives up on plays , doesn’t block, doesn’t score lol DJ was good but I’m not worried as a Steelers fan, he’ll be replaced and the Steelers always seem to hit on receivers in the draft.

For the dry guy on the right, tell us how you really feel 🙄 Dionte is an absolute gem. He can run every route, a magnificent separator, and if you hit him in stride, he's excellent after the catch. He is a gem and easily Carolina's best receiver now. You also can't discuss his statistical inconsistencies without acknowledging Tomlin kept Canada as OC, and crowned Pickett as the quarterback of the future for past 2 years. If Bryce Young is any good, He and Johnson should connect early and often.

Bryce Young was supposed to be an NFL ready QB but turns out he can't throw accurately over 15 air yards and didn't in college either lol. Yeah let's blame the WRs for lack of separation when they were restricted to curls and out routes cause the QB can't target anywhere else on the field accurately.
I love the move. I think the Panthers should draft a WR to develop because DJ is on a one year deal and then take care of the defense. Ideally, I would love to see us draft AD Mitchell, Keon Coleman or Xavier Legette.

These are facts! Folks forget Thielen is a 2 time pro bowler. He was WR1 in Minnesota before a younger/faster Diggs and then Jefferson were drafted. Thielen can run the whole route tree. It's because of Bryce he was restricted to being the go to guy always within 10 yards.

The Steelers have a good record of knowing when it's time to part ways with a receiver and this is another classic example.

The locker room was getting heated at times. the new coaches in Pittsburgh are not going to let that kind of stuff fly. they know they can land a WR in this deep receiver draft class. Dionte is extremely talented and will make huge plays all over the field and is a great possession receiver but he also has at least one brain fart a game that will have you cussing and scratching your head.
He runs in circles after a lot of his short catches trying to escape and get more yards but usually loses yards in the process and he can also have games where he drops easy passes.

Diontae Johnson is a great route runner, but a bit soft (both body and between the ears). He's more than worth what Carolina paid... which isn't much... but Diontae Johnson can be a diva. His lockroom personality may improve with the move.
I think part of it has to do with Pickens. Tomlin knows he’s special but a diva, and decided to make him a wr1 now.

Get ready for a 500-800 yard season, two touchdowns, dropped balls and a lot of complaining and diva behavior. His highlights are nice but that`s not his typical playstyle. If you need 5 yards he constantly gives you 3.

Mike Tomlin is THE MOST OVERRATED COACH. Any other coach would take the Steelers to win the bowl! First year guaranteed
I am not a Steelers fan, but dragging a team quarterbacked by Kenny Picket to the playoffs year-after-year is borderline miraculous. If Tomlin had been the HC of the Cowboys or the 49ers this past season they could've absolutely won the whole thing.
