I live in alaska, and i been wanting to do a build like this it's cold as chit now but this summer I'm pulling out the back panels rear seats and probably build the box in car to get it fit my 15' sonic big 3 2/0 sky high wire irragi hi output alternator customized the battery mount to handle a truck agm crescendo bass clef 2000.1d 2 Rockford Fosgate T0d412 p1650 side doors and a alpine ilx-w650 mechless just needs a striper pole battery bank 4 channel amp and when I build this I will need another crescendo and a couple T0s I want hairtrick I've been told prefab is my bottle neck limiting my potential so fixing it with twice the space an power is the only logical solution 😉
I have a half built box in my garage but think I gonna go pick up more MDF and start over and give this a shot.. if possible could u give me a little more detail on that port area please and thanks. From my understanding of the video, it's 8 inches in height, 10 inches in width and 20 inches in depth which is 8.75inches off of the back wall if my understanding is correct.
Respectfully I disagree on the box building I have used different types of wood and Birch is awesome and double triple baffle even better of course depending on subs you are using box is going to react different if you use a 500w rms vs 2000w rms sub. I got 3 jl audio 12w0v3's in a 5.25ft³ ported box with a 4 x 10 inch port 16.5 inches deep tuned to 28hz. JL gave me the volume and port tuning. Its in an 06 maxima and it was a big pain in the ass as i had to build half of it in the trunk. But i also got jl mids and highs, all hooked to a never used and had it since 2003, an XTANT X603 which is running 150 x 2 to the mids/highs and 300 x 1 to the 3 twelves and it hits 140-141 with only 600 watts total. Is that a decent spl level for only 300 watts to the 3 12's?
That’s actually pretty good numbers… with more power that thing would definitely put some good DB numbers!🔈 ported boxes don’t need much power but wen good power is there it definitely gonna perform really good!

I have an old Orion 225HCCA 25W x 2 or 400w x 1 at 1ohm mono im gonna do a test on, my 3 4ohm subs together are wired up for a 1.33 ohm load, so we'll see. I do have a defecit in the midbass frequencies as i only have a 6" 2 way jl comp set in front doors, and a jl 6.5 inch 2 way coax in the rear doors. Im thinking of maybe putting an 8 inch midbass in the front doors and move the component set to custom kick panels. But since that XTANT amp is a 3 channell, i will need to change my set up to 3 separate amps. I just dont know what amps ill use. My goal is to get as loud and sounds good with as little power as necessary. Im not looking to do spl contests or anything. I dont want the huge electrical upgrades but i will definitely get a high output alternator. I would love to go sealed to shrink box size so i could still pull my spare tire out, but im afraid it will kill how loud it could get unless i make it up by feeding the sealed subs more power. I am going to experiment with changing the face of the box and swapping in 2 jl 13w3v3 2 ohm subs as the box size and tuning will still work. I kinda think those two 13½'s will be louder. I have one in a bandpass box i was using before and just one seemed pretty close to how loud it is now. I need some better overall system equalization too, i have an old Alesis MEQ-230 that was common in car stereo contests in the 1990's ill prob use. I'm 51, I've been doing this for over 35 years and I've always done everything I could to stop all that rattling noise. I prefer my bass inside my vehicle. My current build is in a lil Chevy Cobalt. 2 15 trunk build on 5k and I constantly get compliments on how clean my shit sounds. It takes a lot of work and a lot of cash to get my builds this way but it's worth it. My trunk barely moves. If you want it loud and windy, you need to have the least amount of flex possible. Guys that rate their builds by how much their trunk flexes crack me up. That's a waste of bass. I love floating shirts and doing crazy hair tricks. #noflex

Make port 12” deep so it gets low and still hits hi notes too
