Thank you for these guides, straight to the point and easy to remember, these are the first alliance raids I actually found fun and without you I would have died 60 times
So, once again, thanks for the guide. Something I noticed about the math boss is that the math mechanic can be resolved without stepping into any circle if the boss assigns the correct value to the player's health. This happens a lot when it asks for prime numbers, there's 2, 3, 5, and 7. Divide by 4 or 3 are also a good ones that can be resolved without a circle frequently. Also, the inner two circles directly to the left/right of the boss are in melee range. After 18 runs, I finally got the minion, leaving me with only Orbonne as the last Alliance Raid that I need to grind for the TT card/minion. So far, I'm on schedule with one Alliance Raid per weekend during the Moogle Tomestone event. So next weekend is Orbonne, then I'll catch up on the Pandaemonium raid series. Then I'll just do the EW Alliance Raids for coins to upgrade my gear to 660 in 6.5, but no pressure on that, don't need to roll on any loot, already have everything and have quite a few coins as well. So now I'm at 17 Wiping City of Mhach runs, and 18 Ridorana runs. I'd like to be lucky once, but I also still need quite a few tomestones, roughly 800 if I want to buy everything. So not sure what I prefer between getting the minion early and grinding many tomestones in Orbonne. For now I'm just glad to be free of Ridorana, or to the very least of the loot grind. Don't mind doing it if I don't need to care about loot.

Thank you so much for sharing your experiences in Ridorana.💜 I honestly still don't have my minion from this one. lol At 18 runs, you're pretty much an expert because I can't imagine anyone willingly doing it more often than that these days. I hope Orbonne treats you well! I've been doing the two EW raids for coins and it's been working out really well for me, and definitely less pressure than what you're attempting. Just focus on what waits on the other side! I wish you the best of luck!

I actually find this comforting as I got anxious too much for this raid because of that math boss-- not very good at math, or the game in general (always try my best not to be a hindrance to others tho!). You make it look like it's doable, and it's so simply explained too so I'm not overly confused lol. I'm gonna do it tonight!
I just did! Went with 2 friends, and the party was so nice when I told them I'm new. They gave me pointers and had my back! People said just don't choose one lol! It went overly well, I only died 3 times lol. Thanks Debbie!
a little heads up for the math boss: if you're rezzed at the moment that the math-mechanic starts your HP will probably bug and just act normal instead of beeing reduced how it is suppoesd to work. if this happens just play the mechanic like you would do if you got 0 HP! (if you step on the 2 for example it will set your HP to 2).
I'm sorry. 💜At least the good news is, failing math here might not kill you. And even if it does, I assure you the healers don't really care. Just dust yourself off and try again!
The hardest part of the math boss for me was remembering that it ADDS the number to my health, not multiplies my health by that number. No idea why, but after not doing it for a while, I thought that's what it does. That, and people need to know what a prime number is, but that's easy, at least for me. Have to go back to Ridorana someday for the minion and the TT card. Thanks for the guide, much appreciated, as always.

@@makriworgen2490 Yeah, I was in public school, but I feel like people have really only started to hear about dyscalculia over the last few years so I've had no diagnosis until last year when I was already into my 30s. Would have helped a lot if it was known about when I was in school, but what can you do. Commiserations, and comradery indeed!
I was literally today-years-old that I found out dyscalculia is a legit thing...from a youtube comment! Dang, so when it comes to HP, you just look at how full the bar is to know if good or bad? Or colors?

Thanks for the guide, but I am still confused as to the exact reasoning behind standing on the opposite side of the arena on the last boss. All I saw it do was make me hover above the ground when I stood on the same pole.
I'm sorry! The reason you want to be on the opposite side is it pins you to the ground (opposites attract). If you are floating by standing on the same side, the whirlwind he casts will pick you up and throw you off the edge of the arena. I hope this makes sense! 💜
I have passed 2 statistics classes in university, and I still maintain that the math boss is badly designed, moreso if you do actually speak the language of math. If you manage to catch the fact that your health has changed to a specific integer and the boss is prompting you to do a calculation (both of which are easy to miss in the heat of battle), your immediate thought will be "oh I'm supposed to solve this equation." Simple enough, except you realize your health is set to 3, the bosses' debuff says something about divide by 5, but 3/5 is not an available option. So you are stumped, real-life stunlocked for 2 seconds out of sheer confusion and get it wrong. Realizing, or better yet knowing beforehand, that the green dots add their respective integer to your health total and that the resulting number is then supposed to fit the bosses criterion makes the problem trivially easy. However that part is wholly unintuitive and easy to forget, especially now that Ridorana pops up once in a blue moon in Duty Roulette. I personally believe that is the main reason people dread this boss (aside from maybe not knowing any prime numbers). Even if you realize before the tank pulls that you don't remember how it works it's not easy to ask in chat as noboy likes to be labeled a moron or get a sarcastic "just do maths lol" as a response.

Thank you so much for sharing! 💜 I absolutely think the solution to this boss may have been more easily identified in the native Japanese language, and we may have lost something in the translation of these boss abilities. (Divide vs Divisible, for example). The good news is the raid is now mostly trivial and I haven't seen a wipe on this boss in years. The bad news is the anxiety of new players, and the PTSD of older ones, creates a situation where people just plain hate it and don't want to run it. Which is why I've seen it so infrequently in Alliance Roulette that after all this time I'm still missing the minion and 2 orchestrion rolls from it.
