A better way to pull stumps is to put the bucket on the backside getting under the stump as much as possible. Keeping pressure on your bucket under the stump walk towards it while curling it in. This action turns your boom and stick into a big leverage bar. Work smarter, not harder.
You said for a bigger machine in the 60 series you would not buy another John Deere... could you share why? I’ve used Cat 308 and 2 Cat 305’s one was a D I believe. Running a John Deere 60 right now and I much prefer it to the Cats. I need to try Kubota’s version of the 50-60
Pulling some of those stumps out shows an amazing amount of flexibility in the dozer arms which is not a good thing. When there is flex you get bounce and that reduces your productivity and safety. I have noticed that caterpillar uses tubing instead of solid iron for their dozer arms. I have personally seen Caterpillar dozer arms break off. And if they break off at a bad time it could be deadly. Which adds another factor, metal fatigue, from flexing in parts that should not flex. When metal flexes it gets weak and breaks easily. John Deere, Caterpillar, and Bobcat are three brands that I personally would not want to purchase. However Bobcat is now owned by Dusani and they may improve certain things about it. Brands that I have not discounted or might consider are Yanmar, Takeuchi, and Komatsu.
@@Pawinterservices case also sucks, they make the world's greatest backhoe but that's where it ends. Cat small machines aren't great either. Kubota kx👍
todd fraser mainly because of my 2 other new bobcat Skidsteers, keep them all the same. The other reason is price, for a bobcat e63 and Deere 60g there is a $15,000 difference
Im in the market for a 50ish excavator. You mentioned you wouldn't buy another John Deere... Maybe a Bobcat instead. Why is that? Does the JD lack power?
Picking up the same excavator tomorrow and starting to clear my 30 acre land. Cant wait!!

If you buy a bobcat excavator it would be a step backwards, I had one and they suck. I'm on a JD 60G now, it will last till I'm done.

If my machine was dry I'd stop working. I keep a grease gun in that toolbox, not home in the garage.
Jimi Neutron agh it’s ok, I already sold it...
@@Pawinterservices you didn't buy a bobcat excavator did you?
Jimi Neutron Demoed Bobcat E55 & E63, case cx60c, and KX057

A good demonstration of how this machine handles stumps
And doesn't handle stumps. 😁
go bobcat hell yeah i just bought a t650 and love it
I've spent some hours in the D50 and can't believe how under powered the machine is. Best in my opinion is a yanmar
Taking out all of the stumps in a dog park? Were are the dogs going to pee? Are you going to replace them with some fire hydrants?
wondering why not another deere I was looking at buying one

boss would skin me alive if I didn't grease the machine every week.
To hear that bucket making all that noise I don't think it has seen grease since he bought it... as an owner operator that's pretty sad
Calm down brad, it’s an old excavator, sometimes they make noise grease or no grease
Grease that damn machine
Digging stumps in not my favorite job lol I live a little north of the Scranton area. New sub here!
DeHaven Family Farm Thanks, yes it’s rough with a small machine
