It would be cool to see the same drive today (2018) and compare how much it's changed (and drive slower...haha!). Maybe you did that already. I moved here in 2005 and in that short period it has changed quite a bit too. Crazy!! Thanks for sharing!
Kind of reassuring watching this. It looks almost the same today. No heartbreaking remembrances of a lovely park, mansion, or school that became a car lot or a peep show. Lancaster was always car lots and peep shows.
The south side is car lots and peep shows (albeit less porn shops than there were when I was a kid. There's one big one across from the strip mall next to Sonic's and then there's one around the corner on State St). The Lancaster I grew up with was more than that: Carrows, Chuck E Cheese, Albertson's, Togo's Subs, Old Country Buffet, WareMart Foods with their outdoor hotdog stand, Shopko, Blockbuste Music (why yes, Blockbuster briefly also had their own music stores. They sold CDs and tapes), Alligator Video...
Does anyone remember the Argonauts bingo hall on Portland Road?? Next door to now Harbor Freight? I spent many of childhood memories there with my grandmother who managed that place Barbera Burdge. Curious if anyone else had fond memories of that place

Miss the fabric stores. Hancock Fabric by Michael's back then, and Fabric land. Used to work at House of Fabric which was on the other side of the street.
Back then McDonald’s experimented with the idea of “Mini Mac’s”... they were placed in shopping centers in areas not close to the regular restaurants. They had a very limited menu.
This series of videos were shot friday Morning July 21,1995 and Sunday July 23,1995 On Major streets in Salem for the purpose of future historic interests. My Sister Drove a little "speedy" in areas :) Notice the phone booths,more power lines above ground and Market street and State streets were undergoing major widening projects that summer. Enjoy!!!!! If the kid I say "H"i to at D Street and Lancaster see's this, it would be fun to hear from him. Im sure he is well into his 30s by now!! See if you remember that moment! More Videos to come....
I know, it was so hard to fit everything in, especially with my sister driving so fast!!LOL I was trying to predict what was going to disappear soon and what was about to develop. I would have liked to have shot to Boston MKT too. On both Lancaster and Commercial. (where Mucho's is now)! :( sorry for the nausea too, but thanks for watching. Please share.

Love these! Lived in those grey townhouses shortly after sunnyview light. From 86 to 89 worked at Roth's Lancaster 80 to 85, Memories!

heck yeah, Nachos restaurant next to Dunkin Donuts was still open. sadly they are all gone, Nachos had super good food.

2:25 there has never been a McDonald's there. Why is there a McDonald's sign? I vaguely remember the sign too but there was no McDonald's

We shot it on a Friday and a Sunday morning and I thought i was going to get the complete part of Lancaster SW, but instead we turned west on Market.
