The fact that the guy in the second match scooped after his commander got countered while he used 3 board wipes on each of CGB’s individual creatures is great.
Countered twice* but yes. That's salty players that only care about winning instantly especially witha stupid easy Ult to get which usually results in a win.
Highlight of the video is CGB leaning back in his seat with profound pride at his win followed by "I forgot to activate the Hall" and then the extort "punts" 😅😅😅
CGB, using Will's ability twice in a turn does indeed double stack the effect. You coulda used the ability, untapped with Teferi, and got a MASSIVE discount for future cards after the draw X.
13:24 this is very good and underrated advice. I actually would advice against running fewer than 43 for ANY deck unless you are a hyper aggro deck with a 4cmc or less commander. Even 44 is probably not enough for a commander that cares about land like thalia & gitrog.
I assume you could get away with less if you have mana rocks and ramp spells? I usually run 38 to 40 lands in my commander decks, but those aren't on Arena...
@@shekki3192 paper commander is very different from historic brawl. If you get stuck on lands for one or two turns in commander, you won't be a problem for the table and no one will target you, so you can get away with it. Historic Brawl on the other hand is 1v1, so your opponent has no one else to target, and you will be very quickly punished by missing a land drop. Again, if you play a hyper aggro deck you can run a lower land count, but outside of that you need at least to hit your first 5-6 land drops, or else you will begin to fall behind very quickly.
Can’t wait to see your version of Rowan, I currently have the most absurd winrate that I have ever achieved in the format. Most games end by turns five or six.
That Imoti game was intense. Loved all the minor hiccups along the way to an 'oops extort' victory lol Also, can't wait to see the Game Knights event! My two favorite MTG content creators making huge waves. Congrats on the opportunity!
Will and no witch's oven? That's a very serious omission imo, especially together with sacrificial creatures like thraben inspector, removal like skyclave apparition (sac on etb, you get a food, opponent doesn't get the token - historic playable level of broken), instant speed reanimation cards like the new Niambi from alchemy (another AMAZING commander) and so on. Also, on game 2, you had the pact of negation + end of story combo, it was probably still worth to play another turn and see what happens! Edit: oh, I almost forgot, with tezzeret both food and clue tokens sac for free, another potential crazy interaction if will survives.
This is historic brawl, you can't convince most opponents to play out the game. I wish there was an emote like "please help me finish my gold challenges"
God, all thalrog decks are the same: removal tribal and taxes. I will further add: those sore concedes are quite common. Sometimes I just get free wins from my Toski deck drawing a couple cards
Teferi who slows the sunset is actually better with Will than CGB was using him for. You can tap will to get his ability, use Teferi to untap him and like 3 mana’s worth of lands and rocks, gain 2 life and active Will again. Doubling his ability is simply pure value.
8:35 the correct play is to bounce the thalia. The single scute can't kill either teferis. In your next turn you can plus both teferis and finale for 10+ with teferi's extra untap. Basically this will give you an insane extra turn where you draw 10 cards.
I play a lot of Rakdos, Jund, and Gruul fast big creature decks and always thought Imoti was a weak commander that dies easily to my decks for that reason... today I learned she makes control decks take forever to get their win lol
I just have been loving brawl, I've been playing it all week, Snapdax is a beast of a commander, and I'm playing the janky version with all the swords (the ones with protection) and lots of angels to mutate onto... sooooo fun.
One With The Multiverse is a good card with Will, I tried it out in standard. Casting spells for like nothing from the top of your library is quite explosive.
11:45 Why not just Ondu Inversion? The exile isn't getting any particular value and you lose only a single mana rock, which you lost anyway since you picked artifacts.
Should have countered the second time twister when you had 6 permanents on the battlefield and he had none, you also had 4 cards in hand to his 3, with 18 attack next turn...

Least salty Arena player

Laughs in *casting my gishath commander for 16 mana*

Someone on another video pointed out how well Will synergizes with Kenrith and to some degree Lynden and I really enjoyed that familial synergy
Meanwhile, Rowan: It's not a phase, mom!
CGB, using Will's ability twice in a turn does indeed double stack the effect. You coulda used the ability, untapped with Teferi, and got a MASSIVE discount for future cards after the draw X.
This was a really cool deck. Thank you for bringing new and interesting ways to keep drawing more cards 💙
The "Who needs win cons when I can draw ALL THESE CARDS?!?!🤩🤩🤩" deck.

I run 50 mana sources on my paper commander with 36-34 lands and it has felt great. At least I very very rarely get stuck on mana.

Hosting game knights live? That's awesome! Super excited for you and looking forward to seeing it!

is your version of the deck anywhere online? :)
Do you have a list you can post here?

I will never, ever get tired of watching CGB play any version of UW control. A mage of my own heart.

Thanks for recording these before you go to Vegas. Have fun!
Smiley- but remember to activate the Hall of the Storm Giants if you count its damage in your calculation.
52:40 "My God why is it so hard? I don't know how to respond to this. Let me know in the comments."
That's what she said.
"Life gain deck? Nah son, control deck."
The Imoti game was awesome! And nevermind the small blunders, you had it all beautifully locked up and ground them out. Really exciting to watch!
Approach of the second sun for 1 mana provides a lot of value
Great synergy, it looks really cool. We recorded it on our channel too, but your list was even more fun.
CGB please lower the in-game sound just a bit . It is covering your voice.
This is historic brawl, you can't convince most opponents to play out the game. I wish there was an emote like "please help me finish my gold challenges"
Thank you for making this video, you are cool!
Enjoy the event. The dojo will be fine when you return.
Congratulations on hosting Gameknightslive. Wish I could be there.
That was a smiley game for sure. So entertaining 🤩
You are appreaciated good sir! Be safe!

35:54 table kun or chair kun slap?

That Hall win in the last game was epic!
Really enjoy the content and I appreciate all you do for your fans😂😂

5 mana teferi would be at 1 loyalty after tucking, or 4 mana teferi would be at 0 loyalty with that bounce. am I missing something?
@nez14526 you are correct. I was wrong. I think I was high af while watching and missed that.
I love that in that last game he missed lethal like six times in one turn lmao
Good to see CGB playing some HB.
I play a lot of Rakdos, Jund, and Gruul fast big creature decks and always thought Imoti was a weak commander that dies easily to my decks for that reason... today I learned she makes control decks take forever to get their win lol
Keep up with good work, I always enjoy your content. I hope you have strength
to do what you love the most.

you can double activate will im pretty sure, with the teferi for example.
He never had a way to untap it with any lifegain besides Teferi himself, but yes.
smile for the last game
why no approach of the second sun?
One With The Multiverse is a good card with Will, I tried it out in standard. Casting spells for like nothing from the top of your library is quite explosive.
Peace in our time.
Friendly reminder to make sure to hit youre land drops kids. My hb decks do have 40-50 lands in it.
I feel like approach the second sun would be an auto include.
Thanks CGB
Why no line of "activate Will, use Teferi to untap Will, use Will again"?
11:45 Why not just Ondu Inversion? The exile isn't getting any particular value and you lose only a single mana rock, which you lost anyway since you picked artifacts.
Judge, if I activate Will, use Teferi tonuntap, activate Will again, will I get double discount?
Any thoughts on Approach of the Second Sun? Saw a historic jank constructed with Will and Approaches.
Should have countered the second time twister when you had 6 permanents on the battlefield and he had none, you also had 4 cards in hand to his 3, with 18 attack next turn...
No worriew cgb my man you tha mann
Today's video is a huge reminder that CGB is not LVD. Good God that was painful.
UW control. Draw so many cards your opponent concedes from boredom
Let's gooooo CGB
Surprised you didn't use Revitalize. It's your favorite thing tacked onto life gain. Lol.
I really wish your opponent on the last game played better (assuming those bizarre plays are in fact bad plays), because it was amazing content.
yeah that last game had me on the edge of my seat. The hall misplay was the icing on the cake of funny though
Wow, no respect for land tax @44:20, and in a matchup where it could really do some work =)
What have you done with the opponent I was enjoying. lol
How about Rowan, Scion of War plus Torment of Hailfire? Just saying
Thant extendes BM extorting 4 hp
COVERTGOBRAWL
Smiley.
The music is very loud. Could you turn it down please 😊
It just doesn't seem like fun to play whoever has the most removal wins. Been seeing that a lot in standard lately it's pretty bad
Smiley
But.. but.. why would you do that to an elephant /s
Noooooo
Theres a misssssss
You missed approach of the second sunnnnnn
Come on
smiley
It'd be so much easier to give af about any of his personal stuff if he didn't refer to himself in 3rd person. Until then, dance monkey.
