Sid is such a good player. Ovechkin has more goals but is not the playmaker Sid is. Sid is incredible on his skates and is great at stealing pucks and passing too.
Probably 80% of Ovie's goals come from the same spot at the left dot. After about 7 or 8 really good ones, his highlight reel is about as boring as you can get considering the number of goals scored. Even today, Sid can score from anywhere on the ice and is still the main offensive driver for his team, while Ovechkin seems to be running on fumes. Russian machine never breaks...they just stop really working.
That last goal isn't a stumble. That's him being aware enough of the defender's stick coming at him that he crouched down to block it with his hand and protect the puck.
Thank you for the video, BUT I hate when people compare SID to OVI. Sid is an all around player Ovi is a very self centered hockey player. Ovi is about HIM, Sid is about the team. Ovi doesn't have half the hockey talent Sid has. If you watch hockey Ovi scores from the same spot on the ice almost every goal. It isn't about the amount of goals it is the all around talent CROSBY IS THE GOAT. Because of his talent he has been targeted for serious hits because the other teams want him out of games. He has missed almost two full seasons added up, due to concussions. I don't think Ovi has missed any from being injured. In the Stanley Cup Play offs one year may have been 2016 Ovi cracked Sid on the back of his head with his stick sent him slamming to the ice and he had to leave the game (No penalty on Ovi either}. The Penguins went on to win the Cup that season and the next season too. Look up the trophies Sid has and what Ovi has and they came in the same year. He was targeted so much during those consecutive Stanley Cup wins Bobby Orr wrote a scathing letter to the commissioner of the NHL on the treatment of Sidney Crosby.

Sid and Ovi both started their careers in 2005, but Sid has played almost 2 full seasons less than Ovi b/c of concussion issues.
