One thing that a lot of reactors don’t realize, if they haven’t played the sport or picked up a hockey stick, is the difference between a forehand and backhand shot, and the increased degree of difficulty of a backhander. I think it would make some of these goals even more mind blowing. Not just Malkin but guys like Crosby and Kane who’ve mastered it
backhanders imo are also a lot more dangerous of a shot in terms of readability to where it's going. played hockey for about 18yrs, backhanders were one of the most practiced shots i did at home or on the ice. miss playing! great sport
I love that you don't super know the intricacies of hockey but can make the comparisons to basketball about how sick these plays are. its fun to watch your reactions
Geno or “G” is tremendous. He’s 6’3” and amazing. He’s played his whole career with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Sidney Crosby. Awhile ago Pittsburgh had some blue uniforms but now they’re all black and white and he’s Russian so when he was in the red uniform he was playing for Russia in the Olympics. Sid Crosby won Gold Medals for Canada when he played in the Olympics. Geno is a tremendous player. The one player who tried to hit him in that one video is Alex Ovechkin. Geno saw it and sidestepped him and Alex hit the boards. Kinda funny. Good reaction Matt!😍
We love Geno. I remember the first years he played with Crosby and they won the Cup. Tremendous hockey player, one of the greatest. Russia always had great hockey players, Federov, Bure, Ovi, etc.
My dude just stumbled across your channel this morning, your hockey react videos are GREAT!!! It’s so fun seeing non hockey fans get amazed by these players and plays and hits and goals in real time. You’ve got another subscriber here, keep up the great work. LET’S GO PENS!
PS Wanna do an OG superstar react video? You should do a Mario Lemieux highlight one. IMO, as a hockey fan since the 80’s, the most electrifying player in history.
Malkin's NBA comp is something like KD, tall guys with better skill than almost any short guys. He was drafted #2 after Ovechkin in 04, then Crosby was drafted 1st in 05 to join him
If you want to see a really fun hockey video, a little different than these career highlights, react to the greatest agitators of all time countdown. This is a list of the hockey players who excelled at pissing people off on the ice. They were decent hockey players in the NHL, but what they were experts at was trash talk and making the other team so pissed off they would take careless penalties and get them off their game. Its a lot of fun and different side of hockey that I don't think you've seen yet. th-cam.com/video/G9iFbPxKuJw/w-d-xo.html
You gotta react to Sidney Crosby, Nathan MacKinnon, Trevor Zegras, and Connor Bedard. Crosby is the active goat in the league. He’s not the best anymore but he was for over a decade. You’ve probably heard his name before. He’s like the LeBron of hockey. Connor Bedard is only 16 playing in junior leagues but he is projected to be the next Connor McDavid or the next generational player. He hasn’t even been drafted yet but has some crazy highlights.
I recommend you react to carey price he is one of the best goalie's of all time and the best in this generation. If I had one video to recommend it would be this one: th-cam.com/video/ck0xSCPAWAM/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=TheBestofHockey What's cool about price is that most of his saves are late in the game so they aren't only incredible but they also have a lot of emotion. Also if you prefer This one. A little bit of context the montreal candiens went on an incredible run in the playoffs last year making it to the final when they were the underdogs (everyone expected them to lose in 4 games in the first round). And obviously price being the best player on that team made some incredible saves. I would recommend you watch both videos but it's your choice. th-cam.com/video/Hcf4mfoSJGM/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=SPORTSNET
Dude it's like you never watched hockey before. Elite players like him go through the whole team often. Just watch Connor McDavid do that at high speeds.
I am sure you have a team local to you, or you could just randomly pick a team and start following them a bit. Watch them in the standings, watch their highlights after their games. They're only like a couple mins and you get the general idea of what happened. You might just find you'll get a lil invested in how they do, and get the bug. It's a great sport. You were mentioning how they do something that looks like a crossover in basketball; that's called a toe drag in hockey. You'll see the guy toe drag and then usually slide it across to their backhand, and then maybe back to their forehand. Getting by somebody in a 1 on 1 is very similar to basketball in many ways. Anyway, stay blessed Go Leafs Go
Psst.... you should check Auston Matthew's highlights. The guy is a goal scoring machine. His 0 to 60, is just a compilation of all the goals he scored this last season.
Here i’ll name some hockey-basketball player comparisons to maybe help you understand. LeBron / Sidney Crosby (both formerly the best in the league and will go down as some of the best players ever) Giannis / Connor McDavid (GOAT potential and best players in their leagues currently, explosive speed) Steph Curry / Alex Ovechkin (best pure shooters ever) Kyrie / Patrick Kane (best handles in the league) Doncic / MacKinnon (elite young superstar players) Ja Morant / Trevor Zegras (young upcoming stars, human highlight reels) Other NHL players I’d recommend checking out are Auston Matthews, Cale Makar, Nikita Kucherov, Evgeni Malkin, and Mathew Barzal
Since ur reacting to Pittsburg players atm do Crosby next! On of the best players ever. Or if u wanna stick on the Russian theme pavel bure has some of the craziest goals ever too!
Wait nvm I just watched ur reaction lol that’s older footage u should watch a current one though he went off the last couple seasons especially this years playoffs the man almost willed his team to the finals. Most def the Kyrie of hockey lol
U should react to some of the greatest hits or fights in hockey it will show u the part of hockey that really separates it from other sports besides the fact it’s on ice
Unfortunately, Malkin is just not playing this way anymore. And he probably never will again if he continues to play for the Penguins. The only hope of seeing this level of play again is if he gets a fresh start on a new team.

How do you bend the stick on a backhand? @@Dabberdans
I’m a Pittsburgh Penguins fan and Malkin is my favorite NHL player of all time
What about Crosby?
I love that you don't super know the intricacies of hockey but can make the comparisons to basketball about how sick these plays are. its fun to watch your reactions
Thank you bro, I appreciate that 💯

Favorite hockey player! If he’s ever near your town it’s worth to go watch him along with Sidney Crosby. 2 generational talents in 1 team.

NHL playing through the pain.
You need to see how tough these guys are.

You see some crazy saves lookin at Patrick Roy or Dominik Hasek. Arguably 2 of the best goalies of all time.
My boy Geno 🤘🤘
Geno Like Score Goal
One of the most interesting thing about his highlights is his power skating, some of these Russian players are just unmatched.
MacKinnon is most impressive to me in terms of leg strength
Geno is a beautiful skater.
Malkin's NBA comp is something like KD, tall guys with better skill than almost any short guys. He was drafted #2 after Ovechkin in 04, then Crosby was drafted 1st in 05 to join him
that backhand bar down against the oilers is ridiculous

I appreciate this but I’m not that interested to react to this, just being honest
@@yojustmatt You're missing out on alot of fun, ngl.
I’m tell you, most underrated part of hockey is the trash talk on the ice. Watch “NHL chirps mic’d up” you won’t regret it.
Evgeni “Geno” Malkin is a 3x Stanley Cup Champ. When he is on his game, he does stuff like this!!

Geno ❤
A buddy of mine bought his world junior jersey at auction. He’s Russian, therefore he is skilled!
Here’s a hockey video if you want flashy. This guy is a rookie so there isn’t too much yet.
