Final Thoughts after Evacuating the Alexander Mountain Fire

- Day 2 (Part 3) of the Alexander Fire (7.30.24) .. Left this out of the previous video (that went VIRAL I guess), but I thought some of the ideas that came to me while leaving our home with all of that uncertainty of what we'll be coming back to. And it didn't take long to settle into the new place in the mountains above Glen Haven and to get the studio (incident command center) up and running. Sorry for the delay, I'll be dropping more videos of the more recent events that followed pretty quickly now.

Wood piles, wooden porches/decks etc....save any foil water or wine bladders (they pack flat and small).
Fill them with water, fill any other containers with water. Milk bottles, soda bottles, ice cream containers etc.
Spread out around high risk areas before evacuation if time permits.
If an ember starts a fire, the container will melt and water should put out the fure before it takes hold.

I know it is LOW priority - but I sure hope they are protecting the old Indian totem right before the Dam Store - it is a Colorado treasure.

Colo news stations reporting many of your firefighters were loaned out to other states.
I think the end goal is to push people into the middle states where they can surveil us.
All I can think of to do is pray and prepare.

It could be worse for us! At least from the looks of it our home is still there, but there were almost 30 other homes last I checked damaged or a complete loss, mostly just above us. Prayers for them

I'll get by! Went down again today and was met by the national guard, still a hard no getting up there they say .. pretty sure the house is still standing from a few pictures I've seen over the past two days, others just up the hill not so fortunate

Livestock/horses/large dogs etc....
Get animal safe spray paint from a farm supply place...like they use on sheep etc. (Not suitable for cats)
Put your mobile number on both sides.
If an animal escapes or is let loose, people can contact you even if not safe to approach animal.

Yea that's interesting in light of some of the word on the streets from the locals who remained up there and helped protect people's homes .. there were definitely some big GAPS from the officials
