I recall back in the theater when Gwen hit the floor, for a couple solid minutes you could hear absolutely nothing from the audience, all the rest of the film there was random sounds of food, people changing seat positions, rustling of clothes here and there but at that moment, nothing....if there ever was a scene that grip an audience into such silence it might just rank as a top contender. That after action review was so much fun, your portrayal of the Captain now waiting to have a word with Peter when he gets there was so on point, I can't help but to wonder what that would look like on screen?
God the clock tower scene with Gwen is shot sooooo freakin perfectly. Goosebumps every single time
I really do like what these Amazing Spiderman movies tried to do considering some of the storyline takes from the Ultimate Spiderman storyline in some ways and make it's own spins on it too, I'm always a sucker for that kind of stuff since I grew up with comics as a kid

When I watched this in theaters in 2014 people were devastated when Gwen died, it's a similar way of her death in the Spider-Man comic book, RIP.
I forgot Dane DeHan is in this as Harry. You should totally watch chronicle. He gives an excellent performance and the film is both fun and epic.

In a deleted scene, Peter's Dad did survive the crash, not sure if it was scrapped out of canon though.
This movie had a ton of ambition. So many characters from the Spiderman universe. Some were handled poorly but others we never even got to see like Felicia Hardy's Black Cat or the Sinister Six.

People shouldn't blame Marc Webb for the failure of this franchise

Whew. My forever favorite Spiderman and Peter Parker. This movie had my entire theater going through it at the end, we were a mess. Even the ones who knew it was coming just because it was so well executed.
I always liked the TASM Spiderman costume best for live action. Has the right vibrance and lanky athletic shape as the comics and cartoons and is the classic simple design without the metallic lines of Tobey or the new tech of Holland.

I like that this movie keeps the classic running joke of Peter teasing Harry about being WEALTHY and Harry keeps it going by agreeing with him. It shows their friendship and helps keep both grounded as human beings. Of course, BEING wealthy Harry sometimes gets carried away with things.
Realizing that us watching these movies is like our parents watching 80s movies. They may not be the best but ya know what they’re the best.

The smartass Spiderman is always the way it was written in the comics. A teenager with huge strength and power can be cocky, naturally. That's what made him my favorite when I was a kid. Daredevil was a close second.

What makes Gwen's fate worse in my eyes isn't simply the fact that it happened; it's the fact that in a few ways, it could be argued that Pete caused it/helped it to happen. He played a direct factor, and you know it hits him and that he FEELS directly responsible.

The general consensus is that they tried to pack too much in this movie, and to be honest, it did feel a little cluttered but I still was able to keep up with it alright. If abutting, they should have teased The Gentleman one more time and maybe alluded to the Sinister Six, then showed the alternate ending. That would have taken a hammer to the usual Spiderman formula and maybe would have gotten hype up for a third film.
I hope they eventually make a 3rd one I love Andrews Spider-Man ❤

Saw this with a packed theater on opening night. Say what you want about the movies as a whole but the obvious chemistry between the two.....when she was killed the entire theater gasped and more than a few people said some adult words but mostly gasps and then sniffles...including me. Seriously we all thought the same thing - he's got this . . . .no. All 4 of us were wrecked from it and our usual after dinner drinks and dinner at the local 24/7 place was more somber at first. It DOES have some memorable moments in it that are worth noting ;) Great reaction as always man - Cape Cod, MA

This film is tough to watch for that scene. They dated in real life when these movies came out and stayed close friends to this day, their onscreen chemistry is perfect 😍 love these 2 versions of spiderman, their romance is a big part of it

Peter parents didnt leave for money.. Think about it leo 🤦🏻♂️ If the government came looking for the files to buy and you said no, what you think will happen huh the plane scene was what would happened..

The best Spider-Man movie.
TASM is underrated. They got some things wrong but they got a lot right. Andrew is a really good spiderman and his chemistry with gwen is very believable.

0:35 - Yeah, general awareness of the Venom movies is all you really need to 'get' the No Way Home post-credit scene, so it's not absolutely necessary. I DO hope you still watch the movies, though.

39:54 - This is the moment all Spider Man fans dread whenever Grew Stacey is introduced. Like I said, they did it with Mary Jane in the Tobey McGuire Spider Man, but she survived. THIS is the real outcome (although in the comics it was the momentum of Gwen's sudden stop that snapped her neck, not her head hitting the street).
41:35 - The purpose of this scene is to set up the Spider Man villain team the Sinister Six. I'm sure you recognize Doc Ock's cybernetic arms, and that next to it is the classic Vulture suit (a bit different from the one in Homecoming).

Despite the film's flaws, the death of Gwen was tough. I think they got overly ambitious probably from studio interference. None of that is any actors fault. Emma Stone is gorgeous and is probably the perfect Gwen Stacy. Her chemistry with Andrew was great. But in the comics Peter was with Gwen first and she did die in a battle with Green Goblin from Spiderman trying to save her. It's a huge part of Spiderman's story and a defining moment as a character. Sometime after Gwen died he met Mary Jane. And they were together for the longest time. I still think the most definitive Spiderman movie was the original part 2 by Sam Raimi. But even that film isn't perfect. I'd still love to see a definitive Spiderman movie that gets everything right. There's still some good films, don't get me wrong.

This movie wasn't well received and whereas it definitely has its problems I quite liked it. It was ambitious but overall I think Mark Webb had a good sense of the character and he's not a bad filmmaker. The chemistry between Peter and Gwen is by far the best on screen relationship Spider-Man has had.
