SubhanAllah. This is why its extremely important for Islamic centres to accommodate to new Muslims, we have the correct iman, alhamdulillah share it dont keep it only amongst the arabs and and old people, same in sydney australia went to a few masjids, they spoke arabic and caters mostly to the older people who attend, which is mashaAllah, only once i found the UMA centre in an industrial area that I see Muslims from all over the place mixing like brothers, kids running around the masjid free loving to be where they are, everyone you come in contact with smiles at you, talk to this man for about 30 mins like a regular person, knowledgeable and listens only to find later that hes the sheikh Solaiman . world needs more places like this

Assalamu alaikoum brother. I love your raw honesty, its refreshing. Subhan Allah! You mentioned many struggles reverts have. Ilhumdulilah. I remember crying from frustration bc I wanted to read the quran in arabic bc I knew it was much richer. Reading it in English wasn't enough. It took about 2.5 years for me to actually be able to read it. Ilhumdulilah. That was many years ago. To date I've read it cover to cover @ least 45 times. Ilhumdulilah rub il alameen. I pray this can motivate someone to,"just stick with it." If anyone can afford a qualified quranic teacher, I think that's the best way to go. May Allah swt guide, protect, n bless you n all your loved ones always.

Subhana Allah as an aborn Arabic Muslim born and raised in an Arabic country I faced the same struggles to fit into a Muslim community and I never did so I'm alone.
