I'm starting to really dislike Terry and the way he treats Curly. He is a bully with the morals of an alley cat. I guess this is the start of what the scriptwriters/producers turned his character into.
Great to see the beginnings of one of the street's best comedy doubles here.. i.e. Bet & Alec! They're an odd couple but have to hand it to the writers putting Julie Goodyear & Roy Barraclough together.. it really works!

I went to the national railway museum in York many years ago and the Steam railway museum in Swindon as well which I really enjoyed! One Christmas eve we had gone to York and had wanted to have gone to the castle museum so we had rung them up to ask were they open or not as Christmas eve is hit and miss if things are open or not and yes they were until 2 that day so off we had gone and had enjoyed it there! Outside when we were leaving about 2 there was a family there wanting to go in and got turned away as they had closed the doors at 2! Lesson in this is never assume things will be open even in good times!

Those factory storylines are terminally dull and never end. Watch 80s episodes there are boring factory stories, watch the show in the 90s there are boring factory stories, 2000s, boring factory stories and on and on.

So, Hilda has a washer, so how does she dry the clothes when it’s cold outside??! I have seen British flats with a washer but no dryer. Why don’t they have a dryer, and then how do they dry their clothes??!
@@rl7012 When you put wet clothes out on a clothesline they freeze! And I couldn’t imagine standing there in the freezing cold handling wet clothes! Your fingers would get frostbite in no time! And jeans on a clothesline, sometimes they come out feeling rough, like cardboard. I’d imagine they would just go to the laundry mat, instead of catching your death in freezing temps and bone chilling winds. Why don’t they have dryers?? What good is a washer without the dryer? And when you have a lot of wet clothes, it takes a lot of time to drag it all outside, then hang them all, then go back outside again to fetch them.
@@chicagogyrl4846 This was filmed in 1986 where a lot of people did not have dryers. A lot of people would hang up their washing inside by the fire or stove to dry as well. Also it doesn't get cold enough to freeze clothes very often in the Manchester area. Even in winter, it is rare for the weather to be so cold that clothes drying outside would freeze.
