I really want Locus-Walker to turn out to be a genuinely good guy who was helping us cause he didn't want to see our world suffer the same fate as his, just to make everyone feel super guilty being suspicious of him all the time

I think it's correct he's not the villain. But I do believe he is using us. After all, he's crafted Alleria into a weapon against the Void. A weapon Xal'atath seems veeery interested in. For good reason too, as if she tends to betray her masters. And what Master is being guided to our world? The very same as caused the destruction of Lokus-Walker's world. This is a trap. The Would Soul is the bait. And Dimensius is the mouse. And the one who will get vengeance, is him. And if it's not his plan, he seems smart enough to at least know what's being set up. That's my theory at least.

I think the insinuation locus walker was making about the radiant song wasn’t ’this is just like the last time, it’s dimensius singing to us to mess with us’ I think it’s more like an immune response or early warning system of a world soul saying ‘oh no oh no oh no void lord incoming baton down the hatches it’s about to get real’. In other words the radiant song is Azeroth, and before it was the ethereal home world.
This is how world souls respond when they are scared.

Bold claim -- Iridikron final battle of TWW, however we don't get the dark heart, Xal'Atath will swoop in and take it OR someone will betray us and give it to her. Then she's the final in Midnight and Titans in the finale of the saga.

What if, as you've argued before, a world soul only becomes a titan through the efforts of titans 'corrupting' the world soul, and a void lord is the void equivalent - and that that is what happened to K'aresh? As in, Dimensius is the world soul of K'aresh turnt to the void?

    • @BattleF08
      @BattleF08 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

I understand that that theory seems natural, as an answer to the question of "Why did he not just corrupt the world? But, the answer is probably simpler. You see, him being the corrupted World Soul doesn't match any account that the Ethereal have, about what happened. Even the "good" ones. So what happened to it? Well, the clue is in the title of Dimensius: The All-Devourering. This dude's theme is hunger. And costs a looot of energy for Void Lords to enter our cosmos. I.. think he just ate it.

    Idle Speculation:
War within: Locuswalker + Our Heroes and Xalatath make a truce to take down Dimensius, Xal kill-steals, takes his power invades Azeroth (maybe kidnapping/corrupting Alleria in the process). Midnight is the fight with Xal herself. In Last Titan we have to kill Iridikron in X.0 or X.1 but then the Titans turn on us for wanting the world soul to have a choice of what it becomes and we have to kick their ass cause we're the Guardians of Azeroth not Odyn's baby titan nanny.
Temporarily teaming up with Xal would be in line with what Maria Hamilton said in the interview

The end cinematic will be Xal and Windrunner spent from the fight and Xal body hopping and killing Windrunner.

  • @drudle

Dimensius in K'aresh will be the end boss for War Within. Xal will be the Harbinger ushering him in.
However, when he is defeated, it will cause a rift to break between K'aresh and Azeroth (similar to the Tomb of Sargeras being a large scale fel portal, or the space rift between Argus and Azeroth). We've already seen smaller portals like this, such as in Abberus, but this will be so large it will lead to a full scale invasion of the Void.
End of Midnight will be the end of both Shadow and Light in large presences on Azeroth (but still enough to empower us.) This will essentially get rid of large cosmic forces on Azeroth: Disorder has been beaten back, Death has been fixed, and Life is typically hands off (except when Death was broken). If Light and Shadow are both weakened to the same extent then that leaves (drumroll, please) only Order left. Which means the Titans, as a cosmic force, will be left unopposed for all of The Last Titan. A perfect opportunity for them to finally enact their final plan of Azeroth giving birth to a new Titan .. something that would destroy Azeroth in the process and we should probably try and stop. By, you know, killing Aman'Thul and the rest of the Pantheon, which would leave Azeroth as .. the last Titan.

Not gonna lie, as someone who was totally sick of Sylvanas up until the soulsplit story (which everyone else seems to hate), I would absolutely LOVE if she came back to help us bring Alleria back from the brink of going full void. And now Xal'atath, someone very interested in Alleria, and someone prone to betraying her masters, is luring Lokus-Walker's ancient enemy to Azeroth. I think the world soul is bait. • @TheSilverwing999
    @TheSilverwing999 หลายเดือนก่อน

Someone else already said it, but it's pretty clear that the final "boss" (so to speak) is not xalatath. She is called the harbinger, she is warning of something else to come, she is the facilitator of whoever the last boss is. That's what a harbinger is. In my language it translates to "warning of change" or "precursor to change".
She also has a pretty clear goal in mind that she is working towards. Something or someone that she wants to usher into the world.
And my guess is that war within will be a preparation of sorts to set her plans in motion, in midnight her plan will succeed, and in the last titan we have to deal with whatever she set in motion. And metzen already revealed that the last titan will be about us seeing the return of the titans to our world.
And i think that whatever her plan is the nerubians falling in the upcoming raid is planned and won't be a surprise to her. I think that whatever she has planned doesn't require the nerubians to win. They are expendable to her. Imo she is using them as a distraction for whatever else she is up to atm.
The reason why i don't think she will succeed until midnight is because midnight is about xalatath taking over the sunwell. I think she's gonna drain in and use it's power for her plans to succeed. Metzen also said we will fail protecting the sunwell. And somewhere in all of this iridikron is involved. He is working with xalatath as we've seen before, but he's being suspiciously absent from the story. What is he up to eh? And we know that iridikron ultimately wants to kill all the titans (therefore the last part of the saga is called "the last titan"). One of them survives but as the only one.
The only question is, is xalatath fully and completely working with iridikron and is also after the titans, or does she have her plans and is only using iridikron as a stepping stone for her plans to succeed. I think the latter. I think her ultimate goal is something to do with the Void Lords or the black empire in general. And I think iridikron will succeed killing all but one of the titans, and then xalatath will turn around and say "sike!" and zap him, and fulfill her own plans.
So just to be absolutely clear here. There is absolutely no way that the last boss of the whole saga is iridikron. And it's also not xalatath. Something else is coming. People just have very limited imaginations in this comment section.
As for my prediction for war within final boss specifically, i don't think it needs to be a big huge baddie that we already know the name of. I think xal has her hands in a lot of cookie jars and most of the war within, including the ending, will be about us trying to get a handle on all the stuff she's setting in motion all over

Blizzard’s greatest story victory has been Xal’s story up to this point. They started with a dagger with a seductive voice, made it the Knifu of every shadow priest main, then re-introduced her to us in BFA only to let that slowly cook in the background before bringing her back now. She’s mysterious, interesting, definitely bad, and seems like she’s corrupted some of the playerbase onto her side before the expansion even launches.
Between her and Iridikron, we have villains that we can look forward to interacting with over the world soul saga.

My opinion? Well, thank you Tali, ok, here goes...I really don't believe that the Titans will be the bad guys. Because like it or not, they affected the very life on Azeroth that we enjoy. And Amun'thul, the god of time, zipping in an out of different time lines, knowing the past-present-future and choosing the right paths that place him at the end times as well... You cannot be serious that we (tiny mortals) could actually destroy a god, (World Shapers and beings that move across the planet, changing the very landscapes we see... ) No, it will be some kind of powerful void lord that actually has it in for the whole universe and we are called upon and given power to bring that being down.
It will be good to see what they have been doing to all of the planets, with their machines, though. Re-Origination machines would be a very scary concept.

The titans are very very clearly going to be the baddies sorry to say.
First of you have metzen talking about us uncovering a vast conspiracy about the kind of shit the titans have been planning all along for our world.
Second you have the earthen story line being about them throwing away the titans and becoming unbound, and the titans literally installing a giant fucking killer machine to eradicate all earthen simply for wanting to be free. That's pretty evil.
And third, you have the name of the last part of the saga "the last titan". The titans are going to die

After watching the video, I have some revised opinions on how I think things will play out.
I think you are right and the final boss of TWW will be Dimensius on Karesh. I think we will be encouraged to take the fight to him by Locus Walker in anticipation of the void invasion. But I think it will turn out that we were played and Locus Walker is using us as a tool of revenge and to gain power and once we successfully defeat Dimensius, he will take his power for himself and probably be the final boss of either the second tier of Midnight or the final one.
Midnight is a very interesting expansion because there are sooo many potential bosses and ways it could play out. There are more potential raid end bosses than raid slots, so we will have to see what they do.
    Xalatath
    Azshara
    Locus Walker
    Alleria
    Turalyon
Dimensius (assuming we fight someone like Pandemonius at the end of TWW)
Any of the old gods could always make a return somehow
Insert Naaru or Void God here
And then you have whoever is leftover plus
    Odin
    Amanthul
    Sargeras
    Iridikron
    Azeroth
For the Last Titan, and thats only characters we know of so far. Im curious to see how many end up being baddies because they just cant fit everyone. Im very interested to see what they do with Xalatath because she seems very much to have grand plans of her own outside of her role as harbinger and I really hope they do them justice.

  • @parkerdixon-word6295

If Xalatath really is just the Harbinger of Dimensius, then it would be weird to kill him as the final boss of War Within and then, you know, still have Xalatath kicking around as a boss fight later. And I guess that's the problem with their relationship- Xalatath is supposed to be the lesser between them, but she's by far the character we're more invested in.
I would also feel a bit weird seeing Iridikron *not* get a spot as the final boss of an expansion, which feels like it has to be Last Titan. Like, he can be super-powered by stealing the magics of the Titans he hates and be way beyond what he is on his own, but it would be weird for him to dip out of being the Final Boss of Dragonflight, where we expected to kill him (and did, only for it to get nixed via time-travel), and for him to end up as "merely" the final boss of one raid in The Last Titan.
It's weird that we have our 2 big *antagonists* but it's hard to cleanly fit them in as the final boss fights of the upcoming expansions without feeling like we're cutting their appearances short.

For anyone who watches Critical Role, I feel like the Alleria/Arator story could end up very similar to the same trope as Laura Bailey's character Imogen Temult. Alleria gives into the void corruption and tries to keep Arator away because he's in their prophecies. It would be kinda funny since Laura's husband voices Turalyon, and obviously he's a cast member in that story too.

  • @TheFalrinn

Xal'atath and Dimensionus are probably my top two picks, with Xal'atath having the slight edge purely because she's the main villain at the start . And I'm thinking the final raid will involve Xal'atath trying to create a portal directly between Kar'esh and Azeroth's world soul, essentially allowing the void the "shortcut" past all of Azeroth's defenses. We'll succeed in slamming this portal shut and banishing Xal'atath from Azeroth (if not killing her outright), but not before the Void discovers that Azeroth's awakening is imminent, so they are going to throw everything they have at Azeroth ASAP because they are genuinely terrified of what could happen if she awakens free of their influence.

Honestly I feel like it would be kinda cheap to make Alleria a villain the whole point of her recent story has been about proving that the world isn’t all black and white and the void is a force that can be used for good her turning evil just feels like it would betray that entire story there is a little more evidence that locus walker could be evil but still it just feels somewhat wrong since there’s still so much stigma against the possibility that the void is anything but bad and the light is anything but good

I don't think the morality of the story is intended to be that simple. The Void need not be evil, but does have natures to it to represent, even when beneficial. We've got Xal'atath, the cunning betrayer type. Lokus-Walker, who seems the mysterious plotter type. And Alleria, the "misguided" type, seeking to use dark power for noble intent. Normally she would indeed be set up for a fall. And lose the things, or the feelings, she was fighting for, in return for the power she sought.
But, to me it seems like what's happening here, is that Lokus-Walker forged her into a weapon. And that what he would secretly love to aim that weapon at, is the destroyer of his home. Dimensius. Who is conveniently being lured here by someone that is prone to betrayal. And Xal'atath seems very interested in luring Alleria. I don't know if they are scheming together, but 2 out of 3 Void characters here, seem like they would benefit greatly, if Alleria and us killed Dimensius. So that feels more likely than Alleria becoming a villain, to me.

    • @alethe6809
      @alethe6809 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Well, there is an alternative. That Alleria falls in The War Within (losing HER war within), and that Midnight won't be about killing her, but about saving her. Then she could both fall, be the final boss and still end up being a symbol for the Void not being all bad when we start to get a deeper understanding of WHY people fall to the Void, and how to conquer the dangers of it and live with it, a story I think would be very fitting for the face of the void elves, whose struggles are all about these themes.

The final boss of TWW will be Alleria, almost certainly. The evidence:
    1. Alleria has voice lines where she says she feels like she has died twice. We know the Void is coming in Midnight. Il'gynoth whisper "At the hour of her 3rd death she will usher in our coming." Alleria dying will be the trigger that allows the void to invade.
    2. Alleria is established as the "counterpart" to Xal'atath in TWW - we know the void is coming so it follows that Xal'atath succeeds at least in part in TWW. It follows that her counterpart (i.e. Alleria) will fail (die) in TWW.
    3. The Alleria's theme music that was just datamined is *screaming* that Alleria is dying in TWW lol

I think a trip to some other planet would be pretty odd for an expanssion called "The War WITHIN", it just doesn't sound too "Within"... Now, a trip to a void-infested planet sound much more in line with an expansion called "Midnigth" so my predictions there are that after we "lose" in TWW and fail to stop Xalatath's plans we then (for Midnight expanssion) decide as a bit of a desperate meassure to take the fight to them and that's when we go to out to that planet. I guess Dimenssius could still be the last boss for TWW but I think we would still be in Azeroth and it's them invading us, we lose, then for Midnight we go out to fight him again and probably Xal too. I do agree Irridikron is probably going to show-up at the end of Midnight.

it would be great if they had someone like Dimensius as the last boss of TWW and then Xal'atath stay for longer, but I worry they might just go the lazy route and do the same they did at the end of WoD with Gul'dan again. Meaning Xal'atath being the last boss of TWW and losing, but still managing to summon Dimensius and then we fight the whole "Void Crusade" in midnight and maybe Dimensius even stabs the world with a dagger (perhaps the blade Xal'atath was imprisoned in, but bigger) as a last ditch attempt to seal away Azeroth's world soul

Maybe the war within refers to some kind of internal conflict within both alleria and xalatath. In that interview they did tease that xalatath may not be a baddie, perhaps theres something that could sway her to our side. Then with Alleria, theres already a bunch of conflict within her, being a warrior of the light for so long and now using the void, wanting to protect her son, etc. She could be swayed to the voids side. So theres a bit of a war within both of these characters

    • @LoveOlsson98
      @LoveOlsson98 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

I could see them going for something like Bel'Veth from LoL. A creature from the LoL universe's version of the void who was sent to our world to consume and adapt so she could learn as much about us as possible and make the void's destruction of our reality easier. She ended up consuming and adapting a bit too much and now doesn't want to see our reality destroyed like her masters, so she works directly against them so she can protect the world she plans to take for herself. Still definitely evil since she wants to assimilate all of reality into herself, but still working against what seems to be the LoL universe's big bad.
Something along those lines, with Xal being out more for herself than for the void. That would make her a lot easier to work with from our pov since someone who's driven by desire for power can be bought, bribed or otherwise convinced. Unlike someone like Irridikron who seems to just want revenge and I doubt he'd be happy to let the titans go free for a couple of gold and a beach villa.

Great video tali and evitil! I think all of those possibilities are things that are plausible, but I have a slightly different theory I’d like to share.
The 5th old god. I know this horse keeps getting beat to death, but hear me out. I know hearthstone is not cannon, but within the game, there is a card named “the ancient one” in order to summon the ancient one, you have to collect the blood of the ancient one. What is Xal’atath and apparently the narubians collecting and using? Old god body parts and in the latest cinematic vials of old god blood, heck the narubians have a piece of an old god hanging from hooks in the latest cinematic. Perhaps the 5th old god is slumbering beneath the roots of this old world tree beneath Kaz’algar, or perhaps the other 4 devoured her. Regardless, this 5th old god is coming and here is the kicker! beladar, the light/void stone in Kaz’algar…. I think it’s a 4th or 5th dimensional device for the void. Perhaps how the void and the void lords will make their way onto the physical plane of Azeroth. Why do I think this? Let’s take a look at the mural beneath Kaz’algar, look at how Beladar is being represented. Now let’s take a step back. We all know blizzard takes inspiration from lovecraft when it comes to the old gods. What if I told you that the Beladar looks eerily simular to the star of Azathoth. In lovecraft, Azathoth is responsible for the creation of Cthulhu, so if we translate this into wow terms, a void lord essentially. If you look at book 4 and how they show the Beladar in its top, bottom, and side profile. The shape is almost that of 4th or 5th dimensional make up for its shape. Heck, with the datamining of us essentially going to Karesh… I think we will go to karesh by using the Beladar, I think we will chase this 5th old god and defeat it, but much like how old gods and their plans upon plans, even when they fail they win. We will not have the luxury of enjoying this victory, the void lords will show up and give chase to us… all the way back to Azeroth, and this is where the war within will end. With the old gods defeated, once and for all, but everything else will be set in motion for the void lords and their army’s to follow us through the Beladar gate. Midnight, will be us fighting to survive and while we may have the armies of the light unite in midnight, I honestly think the light has been preparing for this.
The light has 3 armies known atm. First, Yrel and her purging of AU Dranor, second, the Arathi, and lastly? The pawn, Pelagos… Their always has to be a lich king, who is controlling the armies of the damned? The crown of domination has been reforged into the crown of wills, and sits at the seat of power in the shadowlands, controlling soul allocation and designation with the elements of domination and light. Shifting the army of the undead to a light forged undead army. The Primus out did himself with this maneuver, and imo will benefit him and the pantheon when they take action. I fear that while we are so focused on the void, we are not taking into account the light and their role in this upcoming conflict.

What I'm hoping is that Xal'atath is something like Bel'veth (League of legends/riot universe) equivalence in Wow, except her being more malleable to other ideas and more of a neutral to evil character. Bel'veth's introduction to LoL made her into a strong villain but she's kind of like the Lich King, after we got all the information about Arthas trying to make his undead army to face the Burning Legion, in that she will consume anything and everything, just like the void, to stand against the voids wishes of total universal extinction. So it's a trope of "I'm a villain but I am also an antagonist of the greater villain" (except she's exactly like the greater villain with the exception of her having self preservation instincts and her own allegiance). I think WoW/Bliz struck gold with Xal and I hope they don't squander her like they did with Garrosh in WoD.

For My part, I can see how Xal'atath might be the last boss of the War Within AND stay alive for the next expansion... Sort of the same as N'Zoth being now known to have returned to the Void realm/plane after letting himself be killed on purpose (essentially justifying years after the fact how uncannily easy it was to beat him in BFA in a single patch) 🤔
I'd loooove for Xal'atath to stay beyond the World Soul saga even! I read a comment from someone a few months who speculated Xal'atath might be a lil' piece of corrupted Azeroth that made off and intends to come back, overwhelm all defenses of the planet/titans/us the players races/factions, and reunite with Azeroth (for good or ill who knows) on her own terms. And from there on, there's a myriad ways she could stay after the World Soul saga, not even necessarily as a now-goodie 🤔

We team up with Iridikron in 12.2 to kill the titans, but during the raid Azeroth is born leaving only Azeroth as the last titan and potentially the final boss of the saga....somehow.

My original guess was Xally being the initial final boss of TWW, only for it to switch to the Light being that is in the crystal in Hallowfall (which WE take to use as a weapon against her before she Uno-reverses us), but we do successfully destroy ger elven form in the process of destroying the unstable Light being. She returns in Midnight as the 12.1 raid final boss, where we fight her true form rather than her mortal-wrapped essence. Also, this is what I consider to be the "lose state" that causes the events that triggers Midnight.
However, for this the final raid would need to culminate at the Sunwell. This isn't impossible, even with the current "etheralraid" datamining, but does the final raid of TWW being held at the Sunwell really make sense? This is making me doubt my own idea.
