Great tutorial! I saw the comments and because i was looking to make a big tote bag, i altered the number of chains. I did 98 chains and for the bottom panel i did 38 chains and 12 rows. It turned out amazing, thanks for the video
Making this as a Christmas gift for my mom, I’m on row 5 right now but every time I finish a row I just have to look at it cause it’s just so pretty!! I’m so eager to see the end result. I’m using black acrylic yarn. Thank you so much for the tutorial! 🧶❤️
This was such a good tutorial!! I made my bag in less than 3 days. I used about 180g of white yarn and a 5mm hook as well. Bag did turn out to be a little smaller, but it looks cute that way
This is the first crochet project I ever finished. I used a heavier yarn and it took me a few tries to figure out the size I wanted but I’m so happy with the result!
Some notes: - Bag turned out a little smaller than expected. I added two popcorn rows to the body of the bag so that it can at least fit a while notebook. - it only reaches my hips (okay for me tho) - Strap is a little too thick for my liking, it covers the whole shoulder - Somehow, i ended up using more than 300g of yarn. I used Loops & Threads Carousel Twist Birthday Cake yarn with 5.5mm hook - Really wish you’d shown the entire sewing process. As someone who absolutely hates sewing because it never turns out neat, it would’ve have been extremely helpful Overall great tote bag. Perfect for beginner to intermediate crocheters like me!

But this was actually my first ever crochet project so i think it turned out really well!! I might try and make this again in the future 😚😚😚
hi! my handle is turning out smaller than yours, i would like to know the measuerments of the handle that you have made so i can crochet up to that length aswell since currently it is very short when i fold it like id be used, thank you!
Thanks so much for the fun tutorial, really easy to follow for a beginner (me!) and the popcorn stitches were so fun to do 😊. My bag ended up soooo much smaller compared to the thumbnail picture though, it’s like a tiny handbag. Double checked but I used the acrylic dk yarn, 5mm hook so I guess it’s the tension that is the issue? 🤔
You’re very welcome! 💘Well done completing it, as a beginner you should be really proud! Bag measurements are Width - 30cm/12’’ Height - 26cm/10.3’’, it can always look so much different in pictures if you’re trying to compare size, measure it and see if its any similar? Tension wouldn’t impact it too drastically, so if yarn and hook is the same, I’m not sure what else would it be
hey the bag looks so nice, i was planning to crochet this and give it to my girlfriend for Valentine's i would like to ask if the strap is sturdy enough for a couple of books and a macbook, thanks!
I love this bag! But can someone explain to me how te make 2 handles (not 1 as is shown in the video)? Where should I attach the second one? Thank you so much!
my bag is turning out smaller than it looks in the video, can i add more rows of popcorn stitches and sc to my preferred size or will it mess up the proportions? (i did the same as the video up to 10:33 but mine looks smaller)
@@KenikseCrochet Hi! Thank you! Im currently on the handle part but im not sure about the measurements of the handle you made since mine is coming out smaller, do you know how long your handle is?
I search for this video cuz I’m interested to start crocheting. I haven’t bought the tools yet, but I treat this tutorial like an ASMR cuz your voice sounded soothing for me ❤❤❤
hello! im trying to make this bag but i have thicker yarn and a 9mm hook so its gonna turn out bigger in size, how do i make it a bit smaller so it doesnt turn out huge? how many chains do i make at first instead of 79?
If by the second row the popcorn stitch isn’t aligned with the first row then there is an extra double crochet or one less double crochet make sure to go back and check
Hi! How to make the size smaller since ive bought the wrong yarn (i bought 8ply acrylic) but i still want to use those yarns to make popcorn bag. Thank you!
Hi! You will need to do try test, of at least 3-5 bubbles and see the lenght you get, and then decide how many bubbled you want for front and back (should be exact same) and for the sides! Then do less rows, or as many as you want for the lenght, and same for handle🫶
Nope! Don’t skip when doing rows of popcorns, but when you do row of single crochets on top, you will be skipping 1, as there are two loops abobe popcorn
I cant get my baubles to line up properly but i cant locate where ive missed stitches. After i get to a row of the sc above the popcorn stitch, i just sc the popcorn stitch and then do 3sc to then carry on with the next row, but should i be sc on the next stitch after the popcorn (sorry if this doesnt make sense😭)
Hi! Yeah bubbles not lining up means you are placing them into wrong stitches, you need to make sure you’re doing bubble above bubble and sc in between
Hey, I could only manage yarn that is 3 mm thick which is v thin compared to yours. I tried doing a row the popcorns are smaller and when ai fold it in half it becomes v small. I can add chains to make it bigger but will it look odd with those popcorns not being as big? Or I have two balls of this yarn each of 100g. The thread is around 3mm thick, can I put them both together and use it as one? It will make the yarn thicker (5mm) and in this case should I continue with a 5 mm hook or do you recommend a bigger hook?
Hi! If getting DK yarn is not an option, I would try doubling your yarn you’ve got, it will be bigger, but if you alter ch count you could manage getting it similar size to mine 🫶
this is a such a good tutorial its so easy to understand!! if i wanted to make the strap longer do you think that would be difficult? could i just do more rows and then attach it in the same way you did?
Hii thank u for the amazing tutorial, I was wondering if the 25 rows were of single crochet and the popcorn stitch together or just of the popcorn stitch?
I thought 25 rows meant 25 rows of popcorn stitch so that’s what I did lmao… and it didn’t seem weird cus in the thumbnail the bag looks big while in real it’s small.. i had to cut half of it cus i only needed 12 popcorn stitch rows 😭😭😭😭
My bag turned out 3 times smaller than in the thumbnail 😢 I must have super tight tension or I didn’t use the right yarn or something??? Was hoping it would be a cute bag for my laptop but I guess a small purse will have to do. Still turned out extremely cute, just wish it was bigger❤️
Hello! I'm about to do this type of bag but in large size version using Light DK yarn (tempting to use chenille yarn but I don't think it can be good in the long run) can you give me some tips as I'm a newbie? Thank you.
It might be extra or that you have missed stitches, or have not done correct amount, I would suggest counting them so you know if you missed something or got incorrect chain count
❤ ur tutorial. I have a question does the first starting row at the bottom part counts as one or is ist 1 starting row and tham 9 rows? ( sorry if i confused you Englisch is not my first language)
Hi! It took me about 7-8 hours maybe, and it definetely will fit couple of books and laptop in just need to add lining to make sure it doesn’t stretch holding this much! I also have measurements in description if you want to check
i was getting excited to make this until i got to the popcorn stitch round. when i got to the end of the round, and i did the last two double crochets, i had one stitch leftover. i took the whole entire round out and did it again but i had the same problem. i didn't know what to do
when I started to do the popcorn stitch for some reason it started curving A LOT so I restarted and tried to make my chain looser, but the same thing happened, can anyone tell me why this is?
Great tutorial! I saw the comments and because i was looking to make a big tote bag, i altered the number of chains. I did 98 chains and for the bottom panel i did 38 chains and 12 rows. It turned out amazing, thanks for the video

I’m so sorry to hear it, I would most likely think its yarn as tension wouldn impact ir that much in size, I used DK 8ply yarn, what did you use?
Hello! I'm about to do this type of bag but in large size version using Light DK yarn (tempting to use chenille yarn but I don't think it can be good in the long run) can you give me some tips as I'm a newbie? Thank you.
Hey! Make a swatch piece to see if you like before attepting in full to make sure you like it!
my first row doesn’t lay straight and keeps curling up? is that normal or did I do something wrong?
That is completely fine, it does curl up, but when you have couple more rows it will balance it out and it should be straight moving forward!
@@KenikseCrochet thank you! also i end the row with a popcorn stitch instead of 2 double crochets. am I adding extra stitches?
It might be extra or that you have missed stitches, or have not done correct amount, I would suggest counting them so you know if you missed something or got incorrect chain count
Can i use polyester yarn for this? 0:36
how do i correct crooked bubbles? im working on my second row of the bubbles and they dont line up w the first lol
You need to make sure you do your bobble on top of bobble, other than that there is now way to fix it
❤ ur tutorial.
I have a question does the first starting row at the bottom part counts as one or is ist 1 starting row and tham 9 rows?
( sorry if i confused you Englisch is not my first language)
How long does it take to make this? Also i wanted to ask if im making it same size can i use it for college like can it fit 2-3 books in it?
Hi! It took me about 7-8 hours maybe, and it definetely will fit couple of books and laptop in just need to add lining to make sure it doesn’t stretch holding this much! I also have measurements in description if you want to check
Beautiful 😍 How many Time does it take ?
can i use milk cotton?
Yes any yarn should work with this project
Yup!
i was getting excited to make this until i got to the popcorn stitch round. when i got to the end of the round, and i did the last two double crochets, i had one stitch leftover. i took the whole entire round out and did it again but i had the same problem. i didn't know what to do
ok I'm new at crocheting and I'm a bit confused, is this acrylic yarn?? Please help 😭
It is!
@@KenikseCrochet omg thank you!! Love the turorial I'll be trying it out soon!
I hope you will like it!🫶
when I started to do the popcorn stitch for some reason it started curving A LOT so I restarted and tried to make my chain looser, but the same thing happened, can anyone tell me why this is?
It will curl for first row, but its going to straighten out once you got couple of rows!
Hi morning can I know how many ball of thread u need to make one bags like yrs tysm
You will need 2 balls of 100g yarn 🫶
Does it stretch when you put books or a water bottle in them??
It does, hence adding lining would help or making it out if cotton would help to not stretch as much 🫶
ok thank you so much!@@KenikseCrochet
If I want to make a larger size, how should I increase the count of foundation chain and how will this affect the base bottom of this bag?
these comments are so fresh
