Tableau 2020.4: How to use Tableau Prep flows from start to end on Tableau Online and Tableau Server

In this video, Tableau Zen Master Luke Stanke creates a Tableau Prep flow on Tableau online, creates calculations, an aggregation, and publishes back to Tableau Online. All of this can also be done on Tableau Server.

How does Tableau Prep execute steps? Is it top to bottom, left to right?

Using 2020.4 Tableau Prep means you should also use Tableau Server and Tableau Desktop with same version to avoid compatibility issue right?
