Brian Knapp Probably because the piano was his instrument for public performances, and the viola for chamber concerts. Note that Mozart wrote 5 violin concertos early on, and nothing after EXCEPT for the Sinfonia Concertante for Violin and Viola.
I was also thinking that Mozart wrote most of his music when he knew he could make money from it. Maybe no one commissioned him to compose concertos for instruments such as the viola or cello, so he had little incentive to do so.
Чудесные мелодии и прекрасное исполнение порождают глубокие впечатления !!! Теппер Михаил.
Byutiful.
o hemel, wat een zalige muziek. voor 't eerst gehoord.....
Works like this explain why Mozart preferred the viola to the violin as he matured.
Harry Andruschak It makes me wonder why Mozart never composed a viola concerto or a cello concerto as far as that goes.

Yes indeed!, Brian. Morover, don't forget the highly remarkable duos viola-violin, where he himself used to play the viola
He actually wrote a concerto for cello that has been lost. He wrote it into his “eigenhändiges Werkverzeichnis“
I really want to play this. but where can i find the sheet music ????
Probably much too late as a reply, but try here: www.hofmeister-musikverlag.com/autoren/w-x/w/wranitzky-anton-1761-1820/konzert-c-dur-kla.html
