Awesome job man, keep it up! Will you be at boxer fest next month? I'm about to install the Perrin a/o separator and fmic on my '15 sti. Which one would you tackle first? (in order to smooth out the process) Any other tips are always appreciated! Btw Perrin is working on a plate relocation kit for fmic that does not require the tow hook, soon to be released. Give them a call if interested.
AndreeBZ I will be at Boxerfest. I am going to do the Autocross over there. I am also going to Wicked Big Meet and do the same lol. As for install, you should take the intercooler off first and do the AOS and go slow because there will be tons of cutting and disconnecting and connecting, then do the front mount which is easy. I did emailed Perrin to try to buy that plate relocator but all they said was that it was gonna come out in the next couple of months. Im like I need it now lol
ARomanRacing Mostly done with the install!. Except for a 1/2" hose that came with the FMIC, and is supposed to connect to the crank vent hoses. Since I have installed the aos, I wonder if this hose is necessary. Any ideas?
AndreeBZ that is one of the hose that basically ran on top of the stock intercooler. With the AOS you already replaced it and its all re routed. You dont need to do anything with that one.
ARomanRacing Thanks for the prompt reply. The car is finally done, at least mechanically. I wonder what did you do with regards to the hood scoop? I went ahead and removed the plastic piece on it, yet i figure some modifications may be needed if the fiberglass cover is kept. Any tips?
AndreeBZ so the platic thing underneath the hood scoop has to come off so it doesnt hit the pipes, and I left that heat foam thing underneath the hood, will probably take off because now without the plastic thing you can see it from the hood scoop and it looks ugly but you dont have to take it off
Hey great installation video, I'm interested in getting the ets fmic kit with hks bov, was wondering if you needed to run the speed density map kit instead of the maf?
Hey man any chance I could talk you into some pics so I can see clearance from piping around aos and down against the fender side near the intake? Would be much appreciated! Thanks. Doing a build similar to yours!
The perrin does come with a crashbar but the intercooler is def on the way. So i used one of the bolts of where the intercooler is bolted. Got like a longer bolt and used nuts to tigten the to strap. I dont know how to explain it lol.
Very curious about the air oil separator and how much performance you can actually gain, and how much oil consumption decreases. I am on the fence about buying one for my wrx I have a 17.
BCabral43 the AOS doesnt gain you performance but it protects your engine from carbon build up and detonation. It keeps the oil from going to your intercooler and what not and prevents that carbon build up, giving more life to the engine. I know it is expensive but it will make your engine last longer.
ARomanRacing I wish I would have made a vid like I wanted to when I did my IAG AOS. I had to do the same and down load the install guide from IAG cause there were not any vids on it. Looks good though.
BCabral43 If you get blowby oil into your gas it decreases your octane level, so if your running a 93 octane tune but your only getting 90 octane you have a good chance of knock which in turn causes ringland failure. Dont know about the FA20 but in the EJ it's a no brainer. Put mine on right before I went stage 1. Now stage 2 and haven't had any knock events.
Did you have a big increase in lag?? That's my main worry....that lag, Right now with E85 COBB stage 3+, the car has a ridiculous amount of torque and almost no lag. I would hate to spend a couple G's and the only noticeable change to the car is lag not power....
LastHumansGarage awesome man thanks, i am making sure I am subbed to your channel. What you gonna be doing the AOS or front mount? AOS is 50 pages of instructions lol
The AOS... i didnt see 50 pages.. i am doing the street version. At least i already have EGR and TGV deleted, for more room. I also have the flex fual kit and pump i am doing soon. do you have a video on the pump install?
LastHumansGarage i dont have the pump install, it was like 5am and the last thing left on my car and I was so tired i didnt even recorded lol. Cobb has a pretty good instructions pdf that I followed. I did it before on a 03 wrx but it was definitely different
I am not entirely sure. I followed the IAG instructions step by step. I believe one of those hoses on top is connected to the coolant. But i dont know which one your are talking about lol
I believe that 3rd hose is step 23 and 24 on the instruction. Check it out and let me know. I will need till tomorrow to check it out on my car. If you send me a message tomorrow around 1030am I can check it out and let you know and make sure it is those steps. If you got Instagram, message me there to talk quicker lol
Yes pretty much every modification that changes anything on the intake, fuel and exhaust will require the tune. The only thing that does not require a tune is a cat back exhaust. Turbo back will need tune, a new intake will need a tune, a different intercooler also. Thata why i did everything at once so i can go tune once. Hope it helps. Let me know if you got any other questions
ARomanRacing thank you, I appreciate that you got back to me it helped out a lot with what I have in mind, I love the install videos and the car keep it up ‼️
As long as its made for the car it will fit fine or you will need an adapter for universal bovs. But i dont recommend universal bovs. Just get an aftermarket bpv and make sure you get that tune for it.
You are the only TH-camr I know of with a lapis blue pearl sti like mine this looks amazing this is something I'm definitely looking into.
BlubaruSti oh thanks, we got twinsies haha. Its a good upgrade. I def recommend it.
Looks sick.. that fmic just helped me make up my mind between tmic vs fmic
Perrin just came out with their new plate reloacator that works with out using the crash beam.
Subaru Drew i saw that in my wrx channels, i havent seen it yet on Perrins store yet
when I watch your video. i always remember my old 05 wrx ...I really miss her . my new car is 2017 forester
王彧龍 i hear you, i had a 03 wrx a couple years ago then I got the crosstrek and really was missing it, then finally got the STi
Looks great im tossing up between fmic and tmic for my STI 💪
Front mount ftw lol, no heat soak and runs cooler
nice!!! this looks like fun!
I’m looking at external wastegates but none of them say they fit a 2017 wrx where did u get yours?

If you want to run a BOV you will definitely need to run a speed density. If you stay with a bpv then no speed density needed really
@@ARomanRacing ahh ic, thanks for the tip! Do you have a bpv you'll recommend and which one are you running ATM?
@@willyeung1936 i am still on stock bpv. Id recommend cobb. They make quality stuff.
amazing! after all are you going dyno your car to see how much HP on your wheel?
王彧龍 that is the plan, it might take me a while because i have so much going on right now but definitely going to hit the dyno

0:33 question! Can you drop me a link to what you had to read? Almost had it hooked up to a coolant line...that was a close one!
well actually the AOS is hooked up to a coolant line. Let me get that link for you.

how did you mount your tow hook without the crash bar due to the FMIC ?
The perrin does come with a crashbar but the intercooler is def on the way. So i used one of the bolts of where the intercooler is bolted. Got like a longer bolt and used nuts to tigten the to strap. I dont know how to explain it lol.

I have absolutely no lag and never had lag in my STI. All the power is right there in an instant.
@@ARomanRacing Very cool. Thanks for the videos and info
@@stuna101a you are welcome!
I see that you don’t have your Cobb cold air intake any longer. Does it not with the FMIC?
Yeah Cobb intake does not fit with the Perrin front mount. Piping all on the way.

when installing the AOS, where did you attach the 3rd hose from the top right? i cant figure it out!
I am not entirely sure. I followed the IAG instructions step by step. I believe one of those hoses on top is connected to the coolant. But i dont know which one your are talking about lol
@@ARomanRacing the last one that you hooked up in the video. It connects to something behind the intake manifold? It's the 3rd from the left, sorry
