Congratulations on your wedding, Jeb!! What a difference between your previous visit and now... Thank you so much, again, for flying with us. As always, we'd be more than happy to feature your new video in our lounge.
In 2018 I worked in northern Queensland as a project manager visiting remote communities. This involved Dash 8s and Cesna Caravans which were single engined 9 passenger planes. Such fun.
I think the little candies you are referring to are the little blue wrapped mints which help people with nausea on bumpy flights. Since the basket with the candies is passed around from passenger to passenger before take-off, they probably stopped doing this temporarily because of Covid. I love all three planes that you flew on. The Twin Otter is my favorite but the Caravan is used more these days. You were lucky to fly on the Dash 7. I was the only passenger once on the Dash 7 - I was flying to the Mara to review a tented camp. I was served hot tea and cookies on that flight. There was one flight attendant and me...so much fun! The red seats in the lounge area of Air Kenya and have been that way for years - from the time I went on my first safari way back in 1994. This video was very special to me. I can't wait to get back to Kenya!
Though I never flew Air Kenya, I did have the privilege of taking safaris three years in a row and the Masai Mara was part of my first safari. I will never forget my experience in taking those safaris and I thank you for rekindling those wonderful memories!
That's awesome! It's also nice that the airport is advertising your great videos for free LOL wonder how many new fans you've picked up because of the showing of your videos on that airport TV screen.
I flew with AirKenya to the Maasai Mara around 1991 on a DC-3 that flew in the Berlin Airlift. And to Lamu on a DASH-7. Seeing the Terminal at Wilson brought back a flood of memories. It hasn't changed much since the 90s
Pretty funny they use your video on their lounge entertainment. Gotta love that! Looks like a fun trip. Not so sure I'll ever take it. And hey, is that a wedding ring? Hilarious!
Totally agree Jeb!!! I went to the Mara two years ago and I cannot wait to go back (This time with my bug fearing wife of 40 years!). I must also agree with you that it is indeed a SIX HOUR drive from Nairobi and boy was that a rough ride, worse than ANY flight I've ever been on, single lanes, behind bad exhaust vehicles, got sick as a dog once we arrived at the Safari lodge, but my God what an experience! We did an early morning air ballon ride complete with breakfast on the Mara as the animals went by! Jesus! I absolutely cannot wait to get back to Kenya I am so in love with that place! Thank you for this!!
Jeb doesn't have to introduce artificial drama to make a great video, check; Jeb proves a video does not have to be long to be very enjoyable and educational, check; Jeb adds another journey to my bucket, double check. Looks like Jeb gets a perfect score in my book.
I somehow stumbled upon your channel and have been watching a series of your videos since about 5:10 this morning. It is almost 9:30 am. What informative and engaging content. I think I have placed the Amtrak Zephyr on my bucket list. You are just really down to earth and extremely relatable. You've got a new subscriber! May you and your wife enjoy the best!
Incredible video Jeb! Worth thinking about this video and waiting all week!! Great job! Love seeing Air Kenya 🇰🇪 again! Wishing You Blue Skies & Tailwinds! Cheers 🥂 -Caleb
I flew in boat planes 3 times when we used to go fishing in Great Bear Lake in Canada. We fly into Yellowknife and then get a lift to the marina for our flight to the lake. Awesome!
Great collection of Canadian made aircraft made in my hometown Toronto. The Dash 7 - Dash 8 and the ICONIC Twin Otter. All powered by Pratt & Whitney CANADA! I hope De Havilland Canada can continue to make aircraft - if not in Toronto hopefully somewhere in Canada. Thank you for the video
OMG a De Havilland dash 7 I love those, the first of the STOL aircraft!!!. Okay not the first but the one that always caught my eye, that and the BAE/RV146.
I was lucky that I got a chance to take a 2 day safari back in the 80s. I was serving in the navy and we pulled into Mombasa, Kenya. I didn't have to fly anywhere. We took a bus then a tourist jeep. Stayed in a bungalow and was met the next morning by a giraffe wondering through the camp.
Great vlog as always! I love flying on these older gen turbos. I think it was a F-50 on the side there, and it is at least 10 yrs younger than the DHC-7.
Went to Kenya years ago, and the best part was flying planes like these. Going to different safaris around Kenya and Rwanda ( gorilla). And then finally a short flight to Zanzibar.
Ooooh - The Dehaviland Dash7. Used to be the workhorse here in Greenland, along with the S61B helicopters and twin otters on our domestic network. Do miss theese "old" birds, and their STOL powers.
I'd love to do this some day, Flying on these old aircraft sounds so cool and the places you can get to are so different from anywhere else in the world but in a good way. Great video Jeb cya in the sky! 😁👍
I must say, I did not expect to see Jacaranda trees that far north... Those purple-coloured trees at 9:59 in the video. Originally from South America the first trees were planted in Pretoria, South Africa in 1888. Today they number in the thousands in Pretoria and Johannesburg. That is why Pretoria is also referred to as Jacaranda City! Now I see them in Kenya as well! Amazing! Wonder how they got there? The best time to see them is in October after the first summer rain. The tree will only bloom a week after the first summer rain and then the flowers will stay on until November, sometimes December before falling off turning the tree back to green.
All British settler colonies in Africa, have jacaranda trees in administrative towns, that's why you will find them in Kenya, Zimbabwe and South Africa. Unfortunately government has been cutting them down. Any town that had a colonial District commissioner has the trees
I really like watching your videos but don't comment however this video was certainly different and really enjoyed watching it so much I thought I'd leave a comment :) keep up the excellent work
In the case Arlene 80’s one living South of Houston would take a commuter flight to IAH to fly anywhere. They flew De Havalian Twin Otters. Old not so good experience was returning home with an ear infection. My stomach didn’t appreciate the rocking to and frow. Yep I got sick and had to use an air sickness bag. Oh the memories of air travel.
Excellent video Jeb! You've inspired us to start planning our own safari for or family. Is there a travel agent or tour operator you'd recommend to book through?
Ok I'll be the one to say it. LOL a video of Jeb not in a " Jeb shirt " as Suzanne calls them. 🤣 Lol sorry Jeb had to. I would love to visit Africa. But I have to live vicariously through you guys. So keep em coming.
Beautiful video, Jeb. You're making one of the highest quality videos I enjoy, and i don't mean from aviation only. PD, you should also share the watch you're wearing on your video with a little bit more detail, you have a beautiful and interesting collection. Regards, Victor
I'd like to see more videos with trains. You should try out VIA Rail in Canada, both their business class offering (say Toronto to Montreal) which seems much nicer than Amtrak business class (free meals, much nicer seats, better lounge etc.) and their long-haul transcontinental from Toronto to Vancouver, which is supposed to be one of the best travel experiences ever.
Excellent! Really enjoyed watching that, a beautiful part of the world I know very well. just 2 ‘suggestions’ given that only the US works in Imperial weights why not give weights in Metric so the rest of the world has an idea what your talking about? 2nd if there is no lounge for example and none is expected why not ‘score’ it as N/A?
Cool video but it would have been nice to share some of your safari experience with us too. Also, I don't feel you could rate the short Air Kenya flights using the same categories in your Jeb Score. Either way, we love your videos and follow your channel. Thank you.
LOVE your Videos Jeb! I highly Recommend that you Try Coastal Aviation in Tanzania. They Have the Pilatus PC12 and the Cessna Grand Caravan. There are Way Better than Airkenya. I recommend You Flying from Dar Es Salaam. Fanjove Private Island, Rubondo Island, Arusha, Seronera Airstrip. If you Can When you are In The Lake Victoria Area, Try Out Rocky Bay Hotel, A Great Retreat at Africa's Biggest Lake. I also Recommend An Airport Review with Mwanza Airport, Kilimanjaro Airport, Zanzibar Airport and Dar Es Salaam Airport with its 3 Different Terminals. Tanzanian Aviation has lots to offer.
Jeb superb vlog 😀 But man why the serious voice on camera ? Smiles all around but you seem to be giving a seminar 🤔 Mara videography was superb Jeb Maybe it’s time the creative director started narrating from time to time for her perspective ?
Hey! I have some new airlines I think you should try out!! The first one is Avelo Airlines which has a few destinations off the east coast, but their main hub is Burbank Airport, they fly 737's and fly to smaller airports, and not only that they are a budget airline. I think it's an interesting experience. Also, a new somewhat budget airline is Aha! Airlines or ExpressJet the only flight I know of is FAT-RNO and RNO-FAT there's gotta be more but I thought you try them and review them!!
If air Kenya doesn’t have a lounge, then shouldn’t the score be out of 20 with the lounge being an N/A. 16/20 is a good score then. And it sounds like it was a good to great experience. Glad y’all enjoyed it!
Congratulations on your wedding, Jeb!! What a difference between your previous visit and now...
Thank you so much, again, for flying with us. As always, we'd be more than happy to feature your new video in our lounge.
Thanks for helping us make more incredible “Mara memories!” See you again soon!!

Roads have been improved now.
Wow now this was an epic experience.
Those planes and destinations are something else
Did this flight before in 2008 when I was a little kid. Your vid gives me really good memories
You have some great watches, Jeb!
You've consistently upgraded your watch game over the years! Love the Patek Aquanaut!

Awesome obscure flight! I’ll be there next year!
How cool flying to safari! Way better than driving for sure!❤️👍✈️
Ha ha. Jeb Score on Air Kenya!! Love it.
Incredible video Jeb! Worth thinking about this video and waiting all week!!
Great job!
Love seeing Air Kenya 🇰🇪 again!
Wishing You Blue Skies & Tailwinds!

Love the Mara!!!! Cannot wait to go back next year!!
And Jeb is in Kenya again, great to see you review planes flying from an airport where I study from
We just flew Air Kenya to the Masai Mara and we were on the exact plane you flew on. So fun to see that!
I flew in boat planes 3 times when we used to go fishing in Great Bear Lake in Canada. We fly into Yellowknife and then get a lift to the marina for our flight to the lake. Awesome!

F-27 so a bit older 😉 (if you mean the broken down one)
Great video Jeb. Kenya is on my bucket list. You and your wife are a good looking couple and Suzanne is especially beautiful. I am happy for you both.
What a fantastic adventure! Dash 7s are so cool. I don’t know if I’ve ever flown on one.
Those safari videos look great! Maybe you can post some more footage of the wildlife in the description or something! Awesome review!
Went to Kenya years ago, and the best part was flying planes like these. Going to different safaris around Kenya and Rwanda ( gorilla). And then finally a short flight to Zanzibar.
Beautiful scenes. I can't go, but can always dream.

@@Max-kw3zo This is very interesting! Thanks for sharing! It seems that this was some sort of colonial thing then!
Jeb with the aquanaut at 2:36 😍😍😍
Congrats on your wedding, just getting into this channel now
Suggestion - Focus some more on the things you do there. Love to see a bit of the safari
You're vlog 😎👌 💕 The making several stops and boarding another plane sounds like our matatu experience
I really like watching your videos but don't comment however this video was certainly different and really enjoyed watching it so much I thought I'd leave a comment :) keep up the excellent work
Thanks so much! This was a fun one to make. Appreciate you watching!
Abousulty amazing video jeb! Your video's are awsome. Can't wait for the next. BTW, Could you do some videos are SFO Terminal 1?
Piedmont (727-200) was the first airline I ever flew on. 1988 as a six year old from MSP-CLT-MCO.
Used to ride the Dash 7 from Trenton to DCA back in the day.
Y’all won’t regret going on safari in Africa. Trust me. I’m South Africa 🇿🇦
Just be mindful, that’s all.
Beautiful
Hoping to see you back in Africa soon, Mr & Mrs Brooks!

Excellent video Jeb! You've inspired us to start planning our own safari for or family. Is there a travel agent or tour operator you'd recommend to book through?
Also flew on Otters before the Dash 7 was introduced.
Awesome video!😸
Incredible! Which lodge do you recommend in the Mara? Also, when is the best time to visit?
We stayed at the Kempinski. It was our second stay there and can’t recommend it enough. Such friendly people!!
@@GreenerGrass Thank you! What would be the best lodge in the Mara however. Also, what was the best time to visit?
@@veddaga1504 Angama Mara. You can visit anytime but probably best during the great migration (July-October)
DeHavilland Canada exists again and they now have all the type certificates for OOP aircraft. They have even re-introduced production of the DHC-6.
Wow so cool to have your video playing in the terminal. Did anyone ask for an autograph? And nice hat Suzanne! 😉 #DeltaFirstClass DTW ✈
Hi Jeb hope you enjoyed your honeymoon and thank you for sharing your flights with us!

If you hadn’t had the time constraints, would you have preferred to drive to the reserve in order to experience more of the land, people, and culture?
Are any train trips in your future?

I've never noticed that Patek before. I think I understand how you pay for all of these trips now!
Nice time piece, Jeb! In very good taste! Great post! And awesome feed and articulate narrative. Thank you. Enjoy your honeymoon!
Would that be considered a commercial airline
Yes!
Where did you guys stay (both 2018 and now)? because the whole Africa experience is very intriguing… 😁
We stayed at the Kempinski, both times. It’s awesome!
Loved the vlog but I hope you're going to do one on your 'ground' experience at the safari site too!
Has there ever been a Jeb score where the service was less than five stars?
Ok now it is time for the Blue Train in South Africa! ( on my bucket list; worked in Africa 6 years and never made it. Rats!)
I’ve never flown on a turbo prop plane what’s it like
