“Flight attendant came strolling up” - as an airline crew member, I must stress to please consider whether that is the original crew member. Often we are on reserve, and called to the airport at all hours of the day. Multiple times I wasn’t told the flight was late, and one time they gave me a completely wrong time. Finally, an hour to be called, run to the airport, go through security, and get to the gate is pretty good.

Great review. I can promise you that your flight attendant didn’t just decide not to show up. That would likely mean getting fired. They had to call out a reserve, and when they are called, they have 2 hours to report to the airport. Having one show up in only an hour is actually pretty good

I used to travel to Atlanta frequently, and when I did, I flew Spirit out of AC. I considered Spirit planes as school buses with wings. For me, AC was a 2.5 hour drive. Once i got a round trip for $87. My trips were weekends. I could get everything i needed into a backpack. I also packed a small empty pocketbook, that I would use once I got to Atlanta. That constituted my free carry on. The other thing about AC was the cheap parking lot that was pretty much walking distance to the terminal. And the security line was pretty much non existent. 6:58 - 7:01 My hometown of Newport News, Virginia! I could even see the neighborhood I grew up in! First shot prominently features Newport News - Williamsburg International Airport which has a grand total of two airlines: American Airlines (yes it's a plane, not a bus) servicing Charlotte and the recently-added Avelo Airlines servicing Florida. Second shot prominently features the James River Bridge, which was at one point one of the longest bridges in the world. Today it is ranked as the 118th longest bridge. Newport News Shipyard is at the bottom of the frame, most notable for being where all of the aircraft carriers for the United States Navy are constructed.
The Parrothead Mantra. It's 5 O'Clock somewhere. LOL! BTW. This past summer, before Jimmy Buffet passed away, Philadelphia had a theatre show called License to Chill-Jimmy Buffet 'salute' if you will. He would later pass away and I began to wonder about the connection between theater shows in Philly and current events. That one was too weird for me based on other coincidences.
LOL. I actually just flew out of AC to FL (and back again). I have to say I love that airport and I LOVE flying with spirit. You can't beat the price and the staff are always nice.
Also, nice job on the video of the 'Spirit' plane 'floating/rolling' through/on the low clouds there on the tarmac. Good on! Also, 10s of thousands of 'customers' waiting out the 'delay' in the massage chairs was a little funny, too, should one see it as innuendo in/of the 'spirit realm.' 😇
I've been watching a lot of your videos and noticed your great watch collection! I plan on getting a Tudor BB GMT next. Great video, I'm glad you and your wife survived spirit airline!
I've flown into Myrtle Beach a number of times. It's a beautiful airport, and they loop you around so you can see the beach before landing. It's a great trip, and there is plenty to do in Myrtle.
Thing about the flight crew. I've been on a different schedule than my crew. As a result, my 'rest' time is sometimes different than the itinerary for the flight itself. Reason being due to a crew swap or a multitude of other reasons. I had one recently where I got in late the night before and went into my scheduled rest period. Due to that, it changed my van time to the airport. I didn't arrive to the airplane until 10 minutes before departure... We left late, but leaving late wasn't my fault or problem, since I had a legal right to rest.
Nice work again! Excellent video. While I agree with you that you can't turn a seat on Spirit Airlines into First Class, you do show some of the very same ways that I have long used to make my flying experience a little nicer without too much additional cost. For instance, I often sit myself in a quiet corner of a nicer restaurant in the main terminal for a pre-flight meal, rather than going to the special lounges many airlines offer. Too often, those lounges are just too crowded. A nicer quality restaurant can often be a better choice, in my book. For a little extra cost, I also tend to book the exit row in economy--what I call "the poor man's first class." Since I rarely eat much on board, even when I'm in First Class (let's face it, what airline has ever won a Michelin star? None that I know of), I usually pack my own snacks anyway. Once in flight, I will often just watch what's on my phone or read a good book. No need for IFE. If it's an overnight flight, I will simply put in the earplugs and go to sleep. Again, no need for a fancy First Class seat. I just lean up against the window with a pillow. Sure, on long-haul flights to Asia or Europe, I usually book myself a business or first class seat with a bed. But in typical coast-to-coast flights in the US, I don't generally bother, since the flights are not that long anyway, and you've shown how someone can, in fact, make their flying experience a bit nicer with just a bit of thought and planning. Thanks again for another great video!
Nice Vid Jeb From My Hometown Airport! Im Happy You Had A Blast In Atlantic City, And That Spirit "First Class" Seat Looked Miles Better Than A CRJ 200 First Class Seat On American!
Hi Jeb! I've flown out of ACY for many years and it's very fun seeing you there as well! Also, Atlantic City isn't just not busy in the mornings, it's never busy!
I've flown Spirit twice MSP-ORD and MSP-LAX and really didn't mind since it saved me alot of money. Probably wouldn't recommend flying Spirit if you're big/tall and I definable would only fly nonstop flights with them
In May we flew Spirit from Philadelphia to Punta Cana. The seats were just about as comfortable as the canvas seats on a military transport. I swore then that I would never fly Spirit again. I have flown out of Atlantic City a number of times as I live 15 miles from the airport. It is one of the best airports to fly out of. TSA agents are very respectful. No long lines. Easy parking. Now that American is offering the bus service out of there, will be doing that more often.
Hey Jeb, just met you and your wife outside in n out at LAX today. Love the channel. Thanks again being so kinda and welcoming! Really excited for your upcoming video (won’t ruin the surprise)!! See you in the skies
Jeb, Suzanne is getting the hang of this vlogging thing. She seems to be more comfortable in front of the camera. I'm glad she's on with you more and more!
"If you want to reduce your chance of delays fly in the morning." Me with Spirit last week: Both the 6am and 8:40am flights out of Portland, OR got cancelled. And they were being serviced by two different aircraft.
That does happen a lot, but bc Spirit doesn’t fly a lot to Portland, and the plane is often coming from somewhere else. There are a lot of other nuanced factors like, do they have pilots to fly the plane there to pick you up? Are there pilots there to take you where you’re going? Are there enough FAs? It could also be that those flights were indirectly impacted by weather. Wherever the planes were maybe they couldn’t get out of there bc of weather. Like I said, lots of reasons why things like that happen. But in general, flying in the morning with an airline like this is best.
Wow those earrings really did make a difference lol.... Funny stuff guys. One of my favorite vids. Bloody funny. Keep on singing Jeb. See ya on the next one.
Rule number one when flying, especially on a low-cost carrier, DON'T talk about or joke about delays or cancellations right before the flight. That is definitely a surefire way to jinx yourself. Trust me, I know from personal experience from when I flew to New York and Atlanta earlier this year.
@@GreenerGrass At least your trip was just delayed, one of the legs of my trip was CANCELLED but I was able to hop on another flight from another airline. But yeah, I learned my lesson.
As long as you don't have any high expectations, you'll be fine on Spirit. It's barebones flying just like with any LCC worldwide. Don't need a lot of legroom or a meal or IFE. Just get me from Point A to point B as cheap as possible and in one piece and I'll be more than happy to fly them again.
I've flown Spirit a few times and getting the big front seats is worth it. They sell out fast, though. I've had to settle for the coach seats in the back even though I was more than willing to pay for the big front seat upgrade. It appears they've added more big seats since I last flew Spirit. The plane I was on only had 2 rows of big seats.
The thing is, they will probably add more "big" seats to meet demand and of course the fares will increase accordingly. Then the people who were complaining about small seats, will start complaining about high fares. Everyone wants it both ways - the first class experience at the economy class price.
I flew Spirit a few years back from KBDL to KMCO and back for a friends wedding. It truly wasnt nearly as awful as id heard. Yes, i sat in the big front seats and at the time there was no wifi at all, but id downloaded stuff onto my ipad and that worked well. In terms of service it seemed perfectly ok, for the price point.
I always fly Spirit from LaGuardia to Myrtle Beach(on,y direct flight there). I own a condo in North Myrtle so I only bring a back pack, upgrade to the big front seats, have drinks and food at the Centurion Club. You’re right, make sure you download a movie or show on your IPad. It’s usually a pleasant experience.
If JetBlue is successful in acquiring Spirit, I hope it adopts the Big Front Seat. But regardless of which airline one flies, it's useful to remember that its prime mission is to provide transportation.
@@jon-michaelharris5840 15 years ago, the major Indian airline Jet Airways bought the budget airline Air Sahara and rebranded it as JetLite while keeping its operations the same. The acquisition was disastrous and was the first step in a chain of events that caused the whole airline to collapse a decade later. What you're talking about has happened in exactly the same manner before and ended in disaster.

I almost exclusively fly spirit now as I'm fairly broke 🤣🤣 In all honesty though, I'll take a spirit flight over Allegiant or Frontier any day. If you are informed, for me it's the best cheapest way to get somewhere quickly. Again, you need to be informed before booking. I flew the big front seat once... and It is a pretty incredible seat to sit in for a flight. Well worth the upgrade... most of the time
Be grateful it was just an hour. I've had a flight where one of the pilots called in sick. We had to wait for a flight up from Florida to bring a replacement. 3 1/2 hours. Another time I was going for the day.going to a dinner. One night. 8 hour delay. My taxi to the event was more than the flight since the person who was going to pick me up at 10;30 couldn't come at 6:30. People who had booked cruises were sobbing and freaking out. Driving to Philadelphia. Booking hotels and flights to different ports. Worked for me, they had downsized the plane and decided I was stand by. By the time the flight took off there was plenty of room.

I flew several times on Spirit put of Yeager in Charleston WV. THE last I used Spirit they screwed us all up. My friend took me to the airport around 10:30 am. And with all of Spirit airlines delays because they didn't get their quotes all of us going to Myrtle Beach didn't leave until 7:45 pm missing one day of vacation. I felt sorry for people having to leave MB 1 DAY LESS. SPIRIT apologized and announced that would give us 1/2 off next flight wherever Spirit flew but you had to travel within 90 days after this disaster! Who is going to travel unless for business. Before leaving MB at Spirit first time I was over in my luggage and they just upped their prices..my dad who worked at Avis MB Airport asked the clerk if they could waive the overdue and explained Spirit's problem at Yeager. Unfortunately they couldn't comply and my dad said this is the last time you travel on Spirit!! My dad had unhappy customers when they would get off Spirit at MB would have to rent a car to travel to their next destination. Dad found out that Spirit would mess people up if they didn't have enough passengers and would make up reasons for delays.. SO NO THANKS SPIRIT!!
Hi Jeb and Suzanne! Thank you for uploading this video. This video was very informative! Great to know how the airlines work and the impressions about it! Keep up the great! Best Regards from Florida!
You're not the only one who likes Spirit airlines for the plane. Even though it's a low cost, no frills, generally hated airline, I do want to fly on it before Jetblue buys them.
Ahh Jeb you made the classic mistake of not chugging the entire buzzball in one go. They’re great party starters and it’s amazing to hear that they’re the official cocktail of spirit
I have to say that I only flew Spirit TWICE in my life and that is the only flights on Spirit will be taking. Some of their fares can be good deals if you only travel with a backpack under the seat and don't mind coach (or the rudeness of the crew; at least that's how I felt on the two flights I had flying coach). But if you don't mind spending a little more (I mean a few bucks more, literally in some cases, fly Southwest or something else -- much better experience and if you have bags, it's a better deal overall when all said and done -- they don't nickle and dime you to death like Spirit does. They wanted to charge me $6 to print a paper boarding pass; most other airlines don't do that -- only the budget airlines like Spirit, and once you add up that stuff, plus a carry-on bag fee and a checked bag fee, you're paying about the same or in some cases, slightly more, than someone like United or Southwest, and you have to deal with the crew which IMO is not the best in the two cases I mentioned. I would only maybe fly them again if it was an absolute emergency and I couldn't find anything else, but other than that, i would not hesitate to pay an extra $50 to fly on another airline. Experience and customer satisfaction are important to me than cost in most cases (not to say I will spend $1000 for a ticket when I could pay $100 and suffer a little, but if the difference is marginal, like $50 difference, I'll go with the other airline).
I like how they added the subtle level of trash needed to fly spirit, that's reserved for big seat customers, outright trash is for all the other customers.

Jen your intro was so funny made me laugh when I thought about it during the video. I hope you have a good rest of your day!
LOL. I actually just flew out of AC to FL (and back again). I have to say I love that airport and I LOVE flying with spirit. You can't beat the price and the staff are always nice.
AC is soo nice, used to fly out of there
Wow!!!! I love how tried so hard to make a less good airline cool. To my knowleadge you did it pretty well!! Excellent video Jeb.
I've been flying spirit for years out of Atlantic City and yeah they are low based airline but they get you to where you need to be
Also, nice job on the video of the 'Spirit' plane 'floating/rolling' through/on the low clouds there on the tarmac. Good on! Also, 10s of thousands of 'customers' waiting out the 'delay' in the massage chairs was a little funny, too, should one see it as innuendo in/of the 'spirit realm.' 😇
I swear, Jeb and Suzanne. I love your guys’ channel because I love seeing the reviews and where you travel to, I just love it so much!
Suzanne continues to be a wonderful addition to the videos! You two are great together!
First! Good to watch another Jeb Brooks video!
I've been watching a lot of your videos and noticed your great watch collection! I plan on getting a Tudor BB GMT next. Great video, I'm glad you and your wife survived spirit airline!
It feels like a missed opportunity not to call us Jeb Setters, great video!
Hi Suzanne and Jeb. It is good seeing you guys again. Thank you so much for your videos. Amen
I've flown into Myrtle Beach a number of times. It's a beautiful airport, and they loop you around so you can see the beach before landing. It's a great trip, and there is plenty to do in Myrtle.
As always, a delight to watch; but your musical jingle and Susans' subsequent forehead slap, were priceless!
Always have a great attitude. Be like Jeb
We just flew Spirit OAK-EWR RT via BFS! Definitely did what you did! Wi-Fi was only $10 bucks and did the first class experience 😂
You changed planes in Belfast?
@@tiffanynaidoo2003 no big front seat i mean
@@GregDalin Ohh, hah!
I've flown Spirit twice MSP-ORD and MSP-LAX and really didn't mind since it saved me alot of money. Probably wouldn't recommend flying Spirit if you're big/tall and I definable would only fly nonstop flights with them
Love your humor! It makes these videos all that much more awesome.
Jeb drinking a buzzball on spirit is the ultimate vibe for this weekend🎉🎉
Hey Jeb, just met you and your wife outside in n out at LAX today. Love the channel.
Thanks again being so kinda and welcoming! Really excited for your upcoming video (won’t ruin the surprise)!! See you in the skies
Thanks so much for saying hello!! More to come…
You’re not the only one who loves the spirit livery! Seriously it the only thing to love. The spirt submarine
Hey Jeb, I was wondering if you could try United’s 737 MAX 8 they have made a new signature cabin with IFE at ever seat.
Is that the plane where the door blew off? Alaskan Airlines.
no thats the 737 MAX 9 the max 8 doesnt have a plug door
Your content is always excellent! Very informative for those of us who travel for work...
Jeb, I think flying with Suzanne automatically made Spirit first class ❤
Jeb, Suzanne is getting the hang of this vlogging thing. She seems to be more comfortable in front of the camera. I'm glad she's on with you more and more!
"If you want to reduce your chance of delays fly in the morning."
Me with Spirit last week: Both the 6am and 8:40am flights out of Portland, OR got cancelled.
Lesson learned!
I hang out at RSW Ft Myers and yeah they’re a huge part of our air service here. Flown Spirit to OH several times and never had an issue.
Omg 😂 spirit airlines from Atlantic City to myrtle beach is about as trashy as it gets. Lol. Thanks for taking one for the team Jeb
319s have more BFS. The 320/21 have only 2 rows.
Love your videos Jeb! Keep up the amazing work
I always fly Spirit from LaGuardia to Myrtle Beach(on,y direct flight there).
But regardless of which airline one flies, it's useful to remember that its prime mission is to provide transportation.
i would like JetBlue to keep Spirit’s business operations as is, and re-brand it to something like, JetBlue Lite or something like that
@@jon-michaelharris5840 15 years ago, the major Indian airline Jet Airways bought the budget airline Air Sahara and rebranded it as JetLite while keeping its operations the same. The acquisition was disastrous and was the first step in a chain of events that caused the whole airline to collapse a decade later. What you're talking about has happened in exactly the same manner before and ended in disaster.

i really love those small airports. thanks for sharing
5:20 ANOTHER DOSE OF THAT CLASSIC JEB BROOKS SASS! TOO GROOVY!
The yellow looks amazing with a Vegas sunset on it.
Great video guys! Thanks for reviewing Spirit honesty guys!
I’ve tried Spirit 2 times and they still owe me a $700.00 voucher. Glad you and Suzanne made it to Myrtle Beach😜
Loved this! Love Jeb and Suzanne!
Subscriber from Myrtle Beach checking in. Enjoy the videos, I saw my house!
Absolute Class Jeb! Always love your travel vlogs ... today certainly didn't disappoint (very informative!) .. except this morning, in bed, I woke the wife laughing my head off at the brilliant humour, wit and punctuated but well delivered sarcasm...
(thanks to you both, from near Windsor, UK)
I confess I also love Spirit colors... First time I saw it I was amazed.
You have a very positive attitude, sir.
Goes to show, with the right attitude, most flights can be fun!
I almost exclusively fly spirit now as I'm fairly broke 🤣🤣
In all honesty though, I'll take a spirit flight over Allegiant or Frontier any day.
If you are informed, for me it's the best cheapest way to get somewhere quickly.
Again, you need to be informed before booking.
I flew the big front seat once... and It is a pretty incredible seat to sit in for a flight. Well worth the upgrade... most of the time
Thank you for flying with us Jeb!
I see Jeb posted a video, I click it immediately! 😊
Jeb! You certainly know a lot about aviation amd I thought I would tell you as a rated pilot and retired Navy Air traffic controller. The “flight levels start at 18,000 ft amd that is stated as Flight level 180! (Fl180 y
You have a great job and you do a great job reporting the facts .

Very interesting. I love how you flew out of Atlantic City. I live in New Jersey and I've been to Atlantic City multiple times however people only point it to gambling. I prefer to look at the beach, restaurants and public transportation. I do wanna fly out of ACY one day though.
This has got to be one of the most entertaining videos you made yet!!!🤣
Jeb, you should try to do an itinerary of the 5 biggest airlines in the US in one day. Delta, American, United, Southwest, and Alaska.
Have you ever thought about going on the Trans-Siberian railway?
Hi Jeb and Suzanne! Thank you for uploading this video. This video was very informative! Great to know how the airlines work and the impressions about it! Keep up the great!
Best Regards from Florida!
You're not the only one who likes Spirit airlines for the plane. Even though it's a low cost, no frills, generally hated airline, I do want to fly on it before Jetblue buys them.
Having my Europe glasses on this was fun to watch.
I'm drinking a BUZZBALL because of this video, it's pretty good! See ya next time!! 😊
Another First Class video from my favorite world travelers- Jeb and Suzanne
Hi Jeb, I fly for Spirit out of ACY hope to see you on a flight soon, glad you like the plane1:)
Ahh Jeb you made the classic mistake of not chugging the entire buzzball in one go. They’re great party starters and it’s amazing to hear that they’re the official cocktail of spirit
Nice to watch you guys! Greetings from Honduras
Experience and customer satisfaction are important to me than cost in most cases (not to say I will spend $1000 for a ticket when I could pay $100 and suffer a little, but if the difference is marginal, like $50 difference, I'll go with the other airline).
spirit be like "tickets are $20 but you gotta fly the plane"
I like how they added the subtle level of trash needed to fly spirit, that's reserved for big seat customers, outright trash is for all the other customers.
I've flown with Spirit many times. I have never had a problem with them.
Yes I wanted another low cost carrier video!
