I really wish game devs like these guys would take some of their combat systems and apply them to genres other than BRs. There are games like this that look super interesting in the tutorial, the movement looks fun, the combat looks like it flows well, it's beautifully animated and it's clear the animation team did their time and really tried to make everything as clean as possible, but I just can't get behind BRs.
Same thing for me, I don't like battle royale games at all and I really wish this game was a solo and multiplayer PVE game instead... I played Spellbreak a bit during its alpha, the movements were fast-paced and the combat system was fun and pretty well done, I especially liked that you could combine elements together to have bigger effects.
Hey! I'm a long-time Spellbreak supporter and founder. The devs (Proletariat) had released another game mode of Spellbreak during CBT1 which was more like an Arena style. They stated that Battle Royale was just to get their foot in the door with Spellbreak and they're actively working on other game modes.
I'm glad I'm not the only one. I have a visual impairment, so I'm at an automatic disadvantage for PVP, but I really like this game's style and the combat looks like a lot of fun!
Ooh ooh, cool idea: you pick a familiar that spawns randomly on the map. You can pick between a cat, who runs fast, an owl who can fly, and a road who can jump long distances. Before each round, you control where the familiar goes, and when time is up, a magic circle appears around it before it swaps places with you, its master.
It was truly amazing and tbh a loss for the entire gaming community that it didn't pop off; it did many things right and had great ideas, great potential.
@@schteeek When i saw that game i thought it would be great. And like with all of these Games : Being a powerful Mage is super fun. Playing against a powerful Mage - very frustrating. Im not saying it cant be fun for some people to climb the ladder and improve but most people want to live a powerfantasy without any competative aspect. Those 2 things clashed horribly in Wizard Wars.
Idk, I think it was kinda just about the right attitude - Wizard Wars wasn't meant to be about casting big complicated spells. It was a game of tense wizard duals based around mixing up projectile and beams spells with their respective wall spells to trip up your opponent. I think people's experiences with the single player game kinda gave them the wrong impression though, and everyone just kinda bounced off of it.
