Finally, a good review on my favorite issued blade ,carried this same one on multiple deployments with the tribe and it's just an all-around piece of kit . Highly recommended
Finally a knife review that showed us literally exactly what we need to know about a product instead of just Rambling about opinion. I’m sick of all the “I think it’s really sharp and I think itl cut when I need it to”.
Haha! Most definitely. This is a great knife. I would advise against throwing it. I did a video complaining about the handle but that’s only because I’m a knife thrower lol.
For general purpose (self defense, rescue, basic cutting tasks) I'd say the 3V version is the best. The only area where it wouldn't be my top choice is for a hard use survival knife used for batoning.
Greetings from Nova Scotia, Canada & i seen a HUGE amounts of reviews on the S.R.K & i have YET........ To hear anything Negative about it. Awesome knife for sure. 💯👌👍💪
Thanks my friend! It is such a good knife for its price. Wouldn’t recommend anyone throw it because that will knock the handle loose. However it’s great for everything handheld.
I have been meaning to get one of these. After seeing your review of this knife I will get one very soon. I saw your video on the Smith and Wesson 24/7 Tanto Knife. I was impressed with the knife after seeing your review. So I bought two of them. They were on sale during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday Event. Here in Canada they are normally about $70. but I got them for $40. each. That's really a steal. The next day they went back up to $65. at one site and $59. at another. Once I got these S+W knives in my hand, I couldn't believe how really nice they were. A really great buy. I tried the pocket clip for holding the knife. But the sheath as nice as it is, comes with the knife when you draw it. I will figure out a resolution to that problem so I can carry the knife. Thanks for introducing me to that Tanto knife.
I am very much sold on purchasing this blade especially after you're demonstration. As a fellow knife thrower this blade looks like it would make a potential good thrower if the situation ever called for it...
@@411Outdoors I actually have an axe and string saw being shipped with it. No need to use a knife to chop or cut trees with. Want it more as a back up for defense or small tasks while camping…. Currently creating an ultimate BOB for when TSHTF! 😂
Your review convinced me to buy it. A lot of bush crafting reviews but no one really torture testing for more combat situations, which is why im looking into this knife. So thank you for the great review! Subbed :)
Also a really really great thing for the price. You can carry it left handed. A lot of knives in this price range and higher are only right handed carry.
These are an insane value and I find myself reaching for it often. Something about the design and usability of it is just right. Big enough, but not bulky.
Good stuff brother! I have all 3 versions of the SRK. Love the simple no nonsense design at a great price in all 3 iterations. I have other premium semi custom knives but my Coldsteels is what I grab when I head outside!

Excellent review of this awesome knife. I bought three of them and it is my go-to knife for self-defence. I occasionally encounter stray, vicious dogs - so I'm wondering if this six inch fixed blade will help ward them off!
Thanks bro! The ironic thing is, I had to go back and re-review it because of how easy it gets loosened. It’s a great nice I just don’t recommend throwing it too much.

I have the Srk c piggy backed on my Kershaw camp 10 and is a great combo with a silky gomboy saw all mounted on the kershaw camp 10 sheath in a Baltric carry the can do almost everything set up . Great video I’m thinking about getting the full size now
These are great knives 🙂👍just don’t throw them my friend. I’m a knife thrower so I was a little struck that I was able to make the handle loose so easily but if you’re just cutting things it’s a great blade.
Hi there! I have a CS Trail Master San Mai III, which is a full convex grind blade, zero edge (ie no secondary bevel). Now, the SRK San Mai (as I understand it) comes with a hollow grind. After years of making hollow grind knives, I've come to realise that it is not the strongest just behind the edge. However, the SRK now comes in CPM 3V in a sabre grind, which is a lot tougher than the hollow grind and the steel is quite acceptable, though not as tough as San Mai. Might be worth a video! Cheers mate!
I believe the 3V is tougher than San Mai VG1 and VG10, if you are referring to edge retention. I have the Trail master in O1 and 3V. I really like the San Mai Trail master for the convex grind, and I wish the 3V came in a convex.
I also bought two of them one for use and the other for collection the rare thing is one of them came packed like yours and the other came in a box I don't know what happened there but I decided to open the one that came in the plastic packaging the box looks really cool that goes to the collection

I've always liked this blade. I scored a brand new 1995 satin Buck 650 Nighthawk which I think is in this class. 1/4" 420HC and an excellent blade for wet conditions. I think the Nighthawk was designed for the SEALs but somehow lost the contract at the last minute around 1994?
I love the look and feel of this knife. I did a durability test and it’s definitely not something I would use for anything more than slicing or piercing, but I’m sure the originals were a lot more solid.
Fair question 👍. I just think it’s one of many options. It comes down to what you’re able to be effective and responsible with. I’ve seen it neutralize without ever even needling to be used. Men fear the blade.
