I own the Lian Li lancool 2 mesh going 2 years now, and i dont feel like changing case yet. I recently cleaned my PC and i just remember how easy and convinient it is to build in this case. If i ever feel the need to change cases, it would most likely be a Lian Li case again.

@Bona Seriously, in appealing to watercooling fanatics with the 360mm and 420mm support they've bloated the case's size, weight, and price. Reducing it to the Lancool 2 Mesh's size and keeping all of the new features would result in a nearly flawless case.

Literally have had it for over 3 years now. Glad I done my research on the best PC cases. Lian li lancool 2 mesh was certainly an amazing purchase. Didn’t even need to purchase extra fans as the ones that come with the case are perfect. Temps on gpu and cpu are amazing.

I have the White RGB Lancool II Mesh, and I modded my case to address some of the small shortcomings that I felt this case had. The Lancool III touches up on so many things I felt the Lancool II Mesh needed.
Space for front x3 140mm fans. The case technically had the space for it, just not in the way they implemented it.
Un-meshed air-gap under the front panel, such a mystery why it was there. I 3d printed a spacer to block this off.
I used a door draft stopper to fill the gaps where the cables route through on the motherboard panel. The grommets do this in the III. The sliding mechanism is a nice touch.
More space for shroud fans, but also the ability to move it forward to better match with the front of the case. I removed the flat panel the II has, and replaced it with a mesh.
Removable HDD cages. I drilled out the rivets to the mounts for my II. There are so many places to put 2.5" already, I don't need them at all.
I assume the USB-C front panel cable is included this time?
The II doesn't fit a radiator at the top too very well, as there is not enough gap. The huge and removable panel at the top of the III is great.
Done away with the magnetic mesh, I just removed mine on the II.
The lever to open the side panels are so nice, I wouldn't need my makeshift pull tabs
140mm back exhaust fan, can never have too much when you can have 6 intake fans.
The ability to mount the front panel IO to the bottom, absolutely perfect for my current setup, as I have set my PC on a shelf.
You can open the cable management panels without flipping down the bottom mesh panel, that always annoyed me in the II.
The bottom two mesh panels are removable, I have bent the bottom panels or nearly have so many times while building and modding my II.
More air vents for exhaust in general.
The button releasable mounting for the front fan cage. I didn't like the small thumb screws that were never really thumb-able due to their positioning in the II, even though the cage was flexible and helpful as a whole.
This list just keeps going and going. They have nailed the details on all those little things that I wanted my II to have. The III has those and more.
I like my II, but I have to say I have case envy now. I enjoyed modding my case to touch up on things, but the III just goes further, and I am really considering this as an upgrade.

I like my mesh II better. I like the full angled mesh front over the next smaller flat face only mesh. I don't need the 20% larger case. The II fits plenty of huge air coolers and large water cooling solutions and 3090 options. I love the Lancool II Mesh with my Ryzen 5950W which is currently overclocked on a huge aircooler. Might move to AIO cool just to see my Dark Hero motherboard more. lol.

    • @RicochetForce
      @RicochetForce 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Seriously, almost every checkbox has been checked off. A full complement of 140mm fans, almost all fan mounting surfaces are removable for easy installation of fans (all of which support 140mm fans), radiator support is addressed with additional space available for offset mounting/radiator thickness, a ridiculous amount of storage positions, modular storage mounts in the shroud (which is now easily removable entirely, see Techsource), swappable front IO, two different cable routing velcro straps for smaller/larger cables, a sliding panel to make it easier to route cables to the motherboard.
You're not kidding when you said this is basically the end-game for midtower cases. I guess Lian Li could make a version with 2 200mm and 1 140mm in the back.

I ironically have had a first gen Lancool 2 for 2-3 years now, I've recently bought tons of parts to upgrade including a Hybrid 3090 Ti FTW3 that has a whopping 360mm rad and I was browsing eBay and found a brand new open box black Lancool 2 and bought it for $85 lol.... and now just pre-ordered this. I can understand OG people not feeling a need to upgrade from their Lancool 2's because IMO it's an imaculate case and will go down in the hall of fame IMO. I currently have a i7-8700k, 32gb TridentZ 4000mhz CL14, Hybrid 3080 FTW3 and a 280mm Capellix LCD cpu AIO with a total of 10 fans the layout and everything is fabulous and it stays very cool. The RGB strips for the Lancool 2 are the most gorgeous strips I've ever owned and I ended up buying two more along with a USB-C cable for the black one that in the mail haha. If you are in need of a Black or White original Lancool 2 in great like-new condition with accesories hit me up! I will sell one or the other! Can't wait for the lancool 3!

Even better, a steel panel on the other side as well with a meshed cut-out so that the graphics cards can directly exhaust hot air out of the side of the case. Final wish: The option to place the power supply vertically on the other side, so that it does not interfere with air-intake.

Finally a case that supports more than 2HDDs and it's not a homungous full tower one. This one is perfect for what I need. I can't believe I spent so many days looking for cases and when I gave up this video appeared in my feed. And wow, working on it looks so easy, which is the only complain I have about the Cooler Master NR600, which has great airflow, a lot of room for big components... but they set the board mounting holes too close to the top, making it really difficult to route the CPU power cable and any top fan ports in the board, and also there's barely a usable gap between the board panel and the back panel, making cable management considerably harder.

Sad to see that the option for a sata backplane on the 3.5" bays was seemingly removed, plus they switched from 3 stacked vertically to 2 2x caddies side by side, eating up more room for extra PSU wires. I really, really wish they would have an option on their lancool cases to get a metal side panel instead of the wasted glass that shows you metal covers underneath. It would cost less to ship and would probably reduce material cost as well.

Wow, this case seems to be excellent! Weight of a full tower cooler is not a concern for most people, as it doesn't need to be portable imo :)

Corsair needs to take notes lol. I wish I could switch but I got a custom flight case for my 5000X case. I literally need someone to cut a hole for my power supply can display voltage and all that stuff.

Lian Li, I think I hate you.
The best I could find when i was well enough to rebuild my PC, was the Lancool 2 without mesh. If only I still had the strength I would buy this today and swap everything over. It is near perfection. Everything that I could want in a PC case. Lian Li you rock! I am green with envy over anyone who has this case.

Just rewired my lancool 2 for upgrade. Tempted to go ahead and get this just for that removable top allowing easier access to the cpu power pins ( lancool 2 has decent clearance, but my motherboard is hard to work with).

    • @ScottyGG
      @ScottyGG 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@joshuad6553 :) same exact thing, reaching the fan or cpu pwr header is essentially impossible once it's in the case. I'm using a big noctua air-cooler which makes it even worse. Good luck! :)

Nice case. Is that Canadian pricing? I really wish they would sell cases with no fans. I much prefer to choose my own fans. As we all know, RGB is more and more about echo systems, so purchasing a case with pricy fans can be a waste of money. Drop $30 off the price of the case and let me shop for fans and RGB that I prefer.
I would trade my Meshify 2 XL for one of these.

That is a good option to place radiator forward just to hide it. In this way more free space will be for some interior decoration maybe.

I like the case BUT there are a few down sides to it. There is no need for glass in the back side, it has NO RGB for the back fan, as an air flow focused case the length is a little much with a waste of space near the front of the back panel and last if you put the front panel on the bottom there is too much angle to use a thumb drive. Eliminate the rear glass and inside cover panels and you save a lot right there. Shrinking the case down some and still have room for a 360 AIO would also save steel. Making the front panel square may also help if bottom mounted that you can use a thumb drive.

Lol I just bought Lancool II Mesh, like a week ago, and then this one comes out… Really nice improvement, every cool feature of Lancool II looks to be cranked up to 11.
Although mine was significantly cheaper (and I didn’t intend to spend more than $120 on a case) so it doesn’t feell like missing out much.
    Great review, thank you!

Why is no case reviewer talking about noise levels? Thermals and noise are the two most important things about a case. Besides that, a wonderful review.
Overall, a promising case. There are flaws, however. My points of criticism for that case are:
I do not like the trend of glass covers. I don't want to show off PC internals. Furthermore, I don't want all of those lights inside the PC to flood my room at night. I want a case that is completely covered. Unfortunately, Lian Li does not offer any replacement parts whatsoever in that regard (other manufacturers like Corsair do). The glass adds only weight, price and fragility to the case.
Lastly, I am not a fan of the weird doors, hinges and how the case opens, at all.

This PC case would have been perfect if they put 3.2 USB Type A ports instead of 3.0 on it's I/O panel. It's 2023 already and they still put 3.0 on the front I/O panel. I went with the Be Quiet Shadow Base 800FX instead.
