Nice review. I hope Nitecore will come out with upgraded version of Thumb in 2023, better LED, bigger battery capacity, Type C, same design. This is perfect EDC light since it can clip onto your belt, pocket or bag straps, hands free with rotatable led light head. Side light red + blue.

I have used an Olight S1R Baton for around 7 years, starting as a park ranger and first responder. It's super small, and I usually clip it to my hat, plus the tail has a strong magnet for atraching it to stuff. The 0.5 lumen "moonlight" is surprisingly useful for not blinding others or drawing attention to yourself, and goes up to I think 1200lm for short periods, which is great for flooding wide urban scenes outdoors. In the woods I only need like 300-600 lumens, and it lasts a good while. Def recommend for like $60 for the newer versions. I still carry it everyday in my bag. I do like the idea of that swiveling one in the video though, that's one downside of hat mounting most lights, and the flat shapes for pockets are smart.

Nebo "Mycro" is a great little headlamp / hat light.
Rechargeable, can clip onto a hat, extremely light weight and you can angle it any way you want.
3 brightness modes, plus Red and Green modes
It has memory to retain the last mode used, as long as it is on for 10 seconds in that mode.
Only downside is since it's so small, so is the battery. It does charge pretty fast though.
    Run times...
    • Turbo (400 lumens) - 30 second intervals / 60 meters
    • High (150 lumens) - 1 hour / 50 meters
    • Medium (50 lumens) - 2 hours / 18 meters
    • Low (15 lumens) - 5 hours / 10 meters
    • Green (10 lumens) - 10 hours / 14 meters
    • Red (10 lumens) - 10 hours / 14 meters

These would also be good for deep sea swimming if they were waterproof. The light would attract small fish and when they get close you could gobble them up for a quick snack.

Review without mentioning running times / battery sizes?
Also, why did you cut out the part where you remove the magnetic keychain hook? ;/

Any update to the thumb? I know there is the Leo but I prefer the original functions.
