Been using for years as well as some of these other guys and I swear by it. It makes you sound great when you aren't and when your playing is on point, you're a foot tap away from shutting down the effects so you can hear yourself. It also makes the cheapest amp sound great without having to kill your neighbors, though it's more fun that way.
I'm looking to buy the ME-20B and there's no videos that explain it like how you did with this one. Best review of this pedal I've seen yet, very well done.
i bring back again this pedal . after many years and its sounds so warm and realistic especially the wah wah .... is better than multieffect processors of nowdays in my opinion
This was a great little pedal, the only problem they didn't have seperate delay and reverb, if you had delay on you couldn't have reverb, other than that it was almost a perfect pedal board.
I bought one of these on sale and must admit I'm impressed. It has everything I need including inbuilt tuner. A lot of the time it's late at night when I get the chance to play so having the aux in is awesome, I can plug in the ipod and the headphones and jam away to Metallica without disturbing anyone.
I have one i use on an old vintage 200 watt peavey bandit amp for my guitar and it plays the blackest of metal with my own personal twist of chorus wave sounds and whatever else i want. I dont understand why ppl bash this. Its fucken perfect black metal on an old peavey and even other styles of metal on a roland cube. Fuck yeah
Yes, it is. Remember that it is a collection of pedals with memory patches. The signal route is already defined, so you can't compare with the GT workstations, which are far more configurable. If you want quick sounds, ME70 is nice. If you want really fine tuning of sound, you may want to try the GTs.
as a beginer i loved the pedal... and used it for like 2 yrs... one day i decide to play without and i couldnt belive how great my guitar sounded without it... it sucks so much tone!!! but its great for begginers
@NickTheNimrod No you can get the FS-6 to switch banks with or if you are in memory mode you can hold down one of the pedals for 2 seconds and then you can go down banks with pedal 1 up with pedal 2 then select the bank with pedal 3.
He says that to change sound banks you have to use the buttons... sorry but he couldn't actually be more wrong! You can use the footswitches as shortcuts. To turn them into scrolling switches, hold pedal 3 for a few seconds, and the lights on all 3 start flashing. When flashing, pedal 1 acts as the "down" button, and pedal 2 acts as "up", with pedal 3 being select. Once the sound bank is selected, one light will remain flashing, until you select which patch you wish to use :)
I use it every day since 2009, it depends on your ears and sound taste to get the sound you want, I usually don't use the factory default presets, I make my own presets according to my needs Pro easy to use easy to find sounds easy to create presets compact metal body portable great for bedroom or stage guitarists Cons no Amp simulators yet
I saw a me-20 in live action some months ago, in the right hands it is really great. I bought a me-70, but for my playing level, I think the me-20 would be more than enough... but they were similarly priced where I bought.
@DavinaFaerie you can always try using a line-6 amp, they have distortions, phasers, chorus, delay, reverbs and all that good stuff, and they aren't hard to find at all
actually yes. some simply pedals for individual work.. chorus, reverb, distortion.. pedal board. that's what i use with my band.. these multi units like a said are good for beginners and garage rock..
Been using one of these for years. It's great but I do have one big complaint. You can't mix delay and reverb at the same time. Due to that I have to use this unit in conjunction with a rack mount processor. However, the distortion tones are great.
He said that you had to switch banks manually... I have one and that's wrong, you can also switch banks by keeping the first pedal pressed. Then, all the pedals start flashing and then the first two pedals go up and down the banks and the third 'confirms' the one you want... that's it... :D
They only give him a set time to demo this stuff, alot of times after watching his demos of gear that I never seen before and was interested , I eather bought the shit and figured it out myself or had to ask around and research because like the POD, somethings are not as easy as the demo's show and the POD took me almost a year to get all the shit figured out between the software and the POD itself, but I do not regret getting it because it is amazing, just takes to freaking long to figure out.
I've got one of these and I agree that the distortions aren't very good, but that may be something to do how I'm setting it up and the amp I'm using (Peavey Envoy). However, I am really pleased with the modulation and delays. I play mostly rhythm guitar in my band and I'm starting to get a nice big swirling sound (like Doves, The Verve etc.). I still need to spend a good few hours in a practice room with it in order to get the sounds I want.
all pedals are great! they cost a lot of money so you should expect a lot to. this one works great, but the ME-25 just has some more options. but it also costs a bit more. just see if it is worth it.
I asked a friend of mine your question because he owns one of these and the boss wesite din't say nothing and he said the wah is basically ready on your command, another words when you want so I guess that is a yes.
Notice that after each demonstration bit, the user dramically turns down the volume knob on his guitar as if he wants to move on to the next sound effect setting? The reason for this is that these types of amp modellers, the sounds are artificial or digital.. there is on natural decay of the sound like you would have with a real amp. if you let it ring out, once the signal from the guitar weakens, the modeler will kill the sound abruptly. It has no feel. sort of like a cheap keybord piano
i'm not as happy with it as i hoped to be, but... the tones are easy to construct and it sounds much better than an rp-250, or some similar zoom, or w/e. live performance wise though its great
you've never heard the roland jc-120. it has cleans for jazz almost as good as a tube amp. tubes are better in my opinion, but dont make an assumption on every solid state amp unless you've played them all.
Lol wow Electro Harmonix is good.Dunlop has some of the best was I have ever played.MXR Is more of a cheep pedal.Boss is used by alot of people now and you got me on Digitech I don't know who uses them but the Distortion I got that was Digigtech is the best I have ever herd
I have this one. Not a bad processor overall but compared to my individual Boss pedals, the ME-20's sound quality isn't really good. It's a cheaper modal and it's good for someone who wants to practise and have a lot of effects, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're going to record or play live.
@gugabool1 well i've had this for like.... 3 years already. with a not-so-metal guitar, you can still get great watery tones and almost an acoustic simulator with a split coil with a compressor turned on. you can get nice clean crunchy tones too. but it takes alot of your own custom presets (but the factory settings are all really ugly and cheap-sounding) hope it helps
In my opinion all amps have something good... i use a crate fw65 and it has a great overdriven sound and it not a tube amp. ALso i think the best effect sounds are individual pedals.
i have a question. I am getting the peavy valve king with a ibanez tube screamer and really love the distortion. But i have this channel on my line 6 spider 3 amp with reverb and delay on it. is there any way i can use this pedal to just add reverb and delay at the same time to my valveking distortion?
This pedal is perfect for beginners when you have no idea whatsoever how an effect works and for jamming at home plugging on a small amp. By other hand on live sucks big time since the pre EQ and volume can really mess the original sound of your guitar and your performance.
i'm just curious but which one is better- the digitech RP90 or the BOSS ME-20? I have an ME 20 and it is great but everyone says the RP90 is great too. PLS REPLY
@iscareuiknowit I've got to agree with you there. I mean, I don't think there's much out there that can truly emulate that classic tube sound, but some multieffects are better at it than others. This just sounds like a cheap, nasty effects processor running into a solid state amp. Tubes and stompboxes FTW.
Been using for years as well as some of these other guys and I swear by it. It makes you sound great when you aren't and when your playing is on point, you're a foot tap away from shutting down the effects so you can hear yourself. is better than multieffect processors of nowdays in my opinion
@ 4.53 "and there is my blues guitar sound" ........sounds like Slayer LMAO
lol that might be due to his "clean sound" @ 1:37
Lol. Like a buzzsaw
Bee in a box blues.
This was a great little pedal, the only problem they didn't have seperate delay and reverb, if you had delay on you couldn't have reverb, other than that it was almost a perfect pedal board.
Totally agree

this things good for starters who don't want to spend to much money yet still want to get a good amount of effects!
this the best multieffect processor of the world. Spectacular
It's small and compact and you can whip it right out whenever you need it.
thats what she said!
did she ? what's her name haha
Paul is the king of reviewing fucking guitars!!
Great, amazing, We love this pedal
I'm looking directly at mine right now. It is really as good as he says.
I love it, is one of the best on the world
like a BOSS...
i love it how he says its a blues tone but its like straight up metal distortion lol
Yes, it is. Remember that it is a collection of pedals with memory patches. The signal route is already defined, so you can't compare with the GT workstations, which are far more configurable.
If you want quick sounds, ME70 is nice. If you want really fine tuning of sound, you may want to try the GTs.
I love Boss pedals..the gt-8 and gt-10 are awesome...i would like to try this one out!!
as a beginer i loved the pedal... and used it for like 2 yrs... one day i decide to play without and i couldnt belive how great my guitar sounded without it... it sucks so much tone!!! but its great for begginers

FANTASTIC !!!
you can also adjust how much pressure you put on the pedal to switch it to wah. from jumping on the pedal to make it switch to just a clear full tap.
I have Boss ME-33 and i m using on my bass and im not complaining...
Thanks for the help! Looking forward to customize my pedal! :)
I use it every day since 2009, it depends on your ears and sound taste to get the sound you want, I usually don't use the factory default presets, I make my own presets according to my needs
Pro
easy to use
easy to find sounds
easy to create presets
compact
metal body
portable
great for bedroom or stage guitarists
Cons
no Amp simulators yet
wats the difference with a BOSS ME-20, ME-50 and an ME-70?
I saw a me-20 in live action some months ago, in the right hands it is really great. I bought a me-70, but for my playing level, I think the me-20 would be more than enough... but they were similarly priced where I bought.
RustenKokus....... yes you can.... you just have to press really hard the front part of the expression pedal until the wah light turns on
@4321micro the Digitech RP350 has effects that make your guitar sound like a bass.
Bosseffekts are the best and it sounds great ...done
これ持ってます。よく使います。とても使いやすく、音もいい。
@DavinaFaerie you can always try using a line-6 amp, they have distortions, phasers, chorus, delay, reverbs and all that good stuff, and they aren't hard to find at all
You can change channels by using a 2 foot switch in the foot switch input
actually yes. some simply pedals for individual work.. chorus, reverb, distortion.. pedal board. that's what i use with my band.. these multi units like a said are good for beginners and garage rock..
@DanskeSange you have to press the foot volume sound way hard. When you are standing put some of your weight on it and it shall work.
thank you :D i been looking for a good processor this looks to be a good choice
Been using one of these for years. It's great but I do have one big complaint. You can't mix delay and reverb at the same time. Due to that I have to use this unit in conjunction with a rack mount processor. However, the distortion tones are great.
no but ireally want it :(
my mates dad has the ME-50 and it sounds amazing! its so damn easy to use
He said that you had to switch banks manually... I have one and that's wrong, you can also switch banks by keeping the first pedal pressed. Then, all the pedals start flashing and then the first two pedals go up and down the banks and the third 'confirms' the one you want... that's it... :D
I like the distortion for what it's worth. It has a wah built in, but it's not too good with high notes.
the perfect toy for children ,this is what guitar has become with so many effects.
wow...fantastic...
nice played
I've never heard a multi-effect digital board not sound like garbage. They kept pumping these out though.
I have one and love it too!
@stackingcallalista press down ahrd on the top of the pedal until the light comes on, indicating that the WAH is on.
@Guitarjas Thanks a lot! It works!...don't know what i was doing b4....
i saw this is at inspirational music yesterday
I WANT IT
They only give him a set time to demo this stuff, alot of times after watching his demos of gear that I never seen before and was interested , I eather bought the shit and figured it out myself or had to ask around and research because like the POD, somethings are not as easy as the demo's show and the POD took me almost a year to get all the shit figured out between the software and the POD itself, but I do not regret getting it because it is amazing, just takes to freaking long to figure out.
this pedal sounds better in real life...i have one! Its really good!
Use external EQ pedal will help a lot
I still have this pedal but haven't used it for years. I might dig it out again@@EvmEvm-q3g
I have that feeling too when I use it
yeah...Make it to where the pedal can be used on either side would be awesome...
I`ve the me 20 it´s perfect
Thanks Verry much
yes, you can go into a PA with any multi effect
@xmattvsmondayx the left output works as mono if u dont plug in an amp to the right output
I have one, and when I plug it in the amp it does lots of feedback, even at low volume, I can only use it with headphones. Any ideas why?
Same try putting the right output in the head phone place
I have this pedal is great
How can one get Santana sound/patch? Thank you
it is a blues pedal. but he plays with od/ds solo with adds more drive to it.
all pedals are great! they cost a lot of money so you should expect a lot to.
this one works great, but the ME-25 just has some more options. but it also costs a bit more. just see if it is worth it.
@Paparokas Yeah , you do have to press pretty hard, the sensitivity is adjustable though.
that's so amazing
Remember that was played on an ESP guitar with active pickups designed for freaking heavy metal... so probably played on a Strat will sound bluesy...
I asked a friend of mine your question because he owns one of these and the boss wesite din't say nothing and he said the wah is basically ready on your command, another words when you want so I guess that is a yes.

I have a ME-30 its good for a beginner but the gear prices here in brasil are just ridiculos so a great head and cabinet will have to wait
i'm not as happy with it as i hoped to be, but... the tones are easy to construct and it sounds much better than an rp-250, or some similar zoom, or w/e. live performance wise though its great
you've never heard the roland jc-120. it has cleans for jazz almost as good as a tube amp. tubes are better in my opinion, but dont make an assumption on every solid state amp unless you've played them all.
Show!! muito bem explicado!!
wow they all sound the same that is amazing! get an rp150! it will pwn this by far just because it has USB
wrong guitar to be testing a pedal with, Emgs block out most of the FX. I love my ME20. i use it with a original 72 telecaster deluxe. its a beauty
I like it!
this is a sick pedal....i got one nd its kick-ass!
Lol wow
Electro Harmonix is good.Dunlop has some of the best was I have ever played.MXR Is more of a cheep pedal.Boss is used by alot of people now and you got me on Digitech I don't know who uses them but the Distortion I got that was Digigtech is the best I have ever herd
step on the volume pedal hard and it turns off. read the directions and you can adjust how much force is needed to switch from volume to wah
Can this ME-20 do any sort of nice clean sound? It seems to be strictly for digital metal sounds.
push the front of the pedal to the floor, use a bit of feeling, theres a button but it wont click or anything but yea just push down like a button
ooo thank you very much!!!
yes of course.
I have this one. Not a bad processor overall but compared to my individual Boss pedals, the ME-20's sound quality isn't really good. It's a cheaper modal and it's good for someone who wants to practise and have a lot of effects, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're going to record or play live.
I have it.
I agree 100%

Thumbs up just because he has Van's :D
just bought the Me70, which has alot more effects and another footswitch, and i dont know if this has a harmonizer, but the 70 does, harmonizers ftw
Does anyone know how to turn on the wah pedal, he doesnt explain it
i have a question. I am getting the peavy valve king with a ibanez tube screamer and really love the distortion. But i have this channel on my line 6 spider 3 amp with reverb and delay on it. is there any way i can use this pedal to just add reverb and delay at the same time to my valveking distortion?

this one is way better and less mony
also an eventide stomp box is really good 2 (the purple 1)
the me-25 is the newer one, it has more features, more cosm amps, and i think more effects. you should get the me-25
Thanks man! :)
i'm just curious but which one is better- the digitech RP90 or the BOSS ME-20? I have an ME 20 and it is great but everyone says the RP90 is great too. PLS REPLY

Tubes and stompboxes FTW.
Imagine showing up to a gig or audition and that's your gain tone.
does your implies the tone sucks?
but most importantly, can this thing suit to play grunge
well i was looking at the JH by visual sound but do you konw if it would be agood idea to run that in a chain with it?
I still have mine
Can I use the guitar one for bass? What would be different from the Bass specific one?
@gugabool1 If your a musician then u would respect all types of music
