  • Bought myself a bike rack from UK family start up Bikestow and it's absolutely brilliant for van, workshop, office or even a fancy flat.

    *I was expecting a lot of shortcuts to be taken at this price. I was wrong. Decent quality **Latest.Bike** raker . Easy on easy off.*

      No worries George. I used to hate loading up bikes before/after riding, especially if it was a group test. The 'Stow works so well it's actually a genuine highlight (especially when everything else is always a sketchy rush 🤣). Hope you're all OK, and you're managing to get some sort of college continuity.

    I know this video is 3 years old, Guy, but am hoping you might see this. In the video, you said your LWB crew cab had a load length of 180cm, is that correct? I've been looking at a 2-bike Bikestow for my Berlingo SWB Multispace (people-carrier, not van). Its load length with back seats down is ... pretty much exactly 180cm! My bikes are 26 inch hardtail (yes, they still exist!) and 27.5 inch fully rigid.
    Sorry, I'm waffling, but wondered (a) is 180 cm the correct load length of your van, and (b) how much wiggle-room do you have when closing the door? I'm guessing all your bikes are chunky 29-ers, too ... is that correct? If so, it sounds pretty promising.
    Love your channel and Instagram page! Down to earth and really helpful.

      @@GuyKesTV Hi, Guy, just popped back to nag you! ;-) If you could send me the van bed length measurement, that would be great. I just ordered a Stance plus Scorpion upright adapter for the one bike I keep in the house, and am really hoping the classic Bikestow 2-biker will fit in the car for trips later this year.

      @@davidrowe8747 haha, good work. Just been out and checked. It’s 190 measured right to the doors from the base of the bulkhead but that bulges out a bit at the bike back wheel contact point so effective length is 180cm. I have to turn the front wheels a bit on slack and long XL 29ers but you should be fine 👍🏻

      @@GuyKesTV thanks, Guy! Pretty sure mine is 180 cm (but will double- and triple-check), so I think I'm good to go. My bikes are all small size and no slack or long geometry bikes. No plans to cram in lots of bikes and people, so 2 bikes and 2 people plus gear should work fine. Plenty of height in the Blingo too, so that's not a concern.

    hi
    will the doors close with the front wheel straight.
    thanks for the video

      Sorry Mike. Depends on the bike. Not with MTB in a crew cab but yes with a road bike. BTW did you message me with the same question? I can’t find that one to answer 🤦‍♂️

    How many bikes can you fit on the Transit using it?

    • @GuyKesTV
      @GuyKesTV  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Four in the rack then two each side with front wheels off. You could flat stack more on top if you wanted to get imaginative but I’ve only got 6 seats in the crew cab.

    • @GuyKesTV
      @GuyKesTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's why I finished the video with a clip of the doors closing fine. It's definitely tight on the crew cab with a really long enduro bike but I've had size large Trek Slash, Mondraker Crafty, Canyon Spectral 29 and Pace RC295 without any issues.

    As far I can see it take so much space to fit one or maybe two bikes..🤔

    • @GuyKesTV
      @GuyKesTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      4 bikes in the rack, no contact between them, no need for straps or padding. Half as many as I can get in by sandwiching them together with blankets but way simpler and zero risk of damage/slippage.
