When I was 6 years old, there was a college football game on TV. I asked my dad who we should be cheering for, and he said "the team in blue." My dad is a Michigan alum. He's also in the hospital right now, receiving care for cancer and covid. He had the game on tonight and this undoubtedly brought a smile to his face. Congratulations to Michigan football and thank you for putting a smile on my dad's face.

Because they only do enough to get the views. That don't wanna make Michigan look great as they are. Most highlights show the full play then a slowmo recap. They cut some of the basic highlights before the plays were finished. It's some of that SEC BIASED BUFFOONERY BY ESPN. Editor is terrible on many highlight videos of Michigan or other teams that don't suit them

100 % Huskies fan here but I've got to point out that the Michigan player who ran into the tunnel to catch up with the physically and mentally battered Michael Penix post-game to offer some kind words of praise and respect was such a classy gesture, representative of a classy football team. Wholehearted congratulations to the champion Michigan Wolverines.

@@tbg2261 You framed that very politely and I appreciate that, tbg. But that "off-day" was the result of a superior, collective effort by Jalen and the rest of the defensive line, linebackers and secondary, as well as the defensive coordinator, Coach Harbaugh and great game plan they created and executed. To Jalen I would say you're a young man of true and strong character and thank you for creating that moment that I'll remember and I hope you and Michael Penix Jr.are teammates at the next level. How's that? Anyway, I now have a never before felt true respect and appreciation for the Michigan football program and the team, which was clearly the best in the country this year and, in fact, the best I've seen in quite a few years. It's a matter of having an intense competitive spirit, being 13-0, many of those, very narrow margin wins, and having a year where he was hitting his receiving targets, no matter at what distance, with a very high degree of accuracy. A magical year! If he publicly negated the part the Wolverines' defense played in his "subpar" day then I hope he retracts and apologizes for that statement, uttered in the heat of a moment.
It is inconsistent with the way he conducted himself on and off-field all year. The Michael Penix Jr. story is one of the season's most positive highlights. And Michigan's, without question, is too. You can point to both as examples of why college football is the great and popular sport that it is. Have a great day.

It really wasn't a good game. I can't believe Vegas only made Washington a slight underdog when this was the same team that was underdogs to OREGON STATE in Corvallis. Does that seem like the #2 team in the country to you? Congrats on pulling upsets to get this far, but this was a total mismatch. That defense was something else. People can scream "STALLIONS! SIGNS!" all they want but there were no stolen signs against OSU, PSU, Iowa, Alabama, and Washington. What that defense did to some solid QBs was just ungoldly. Allar is probably still waking up screaming. The OSU QB left town. Penix was basically hamburger as he limped off the field. And the last time Milroe spent that much time on his back with the world spinning was in his freshman year when he was rushing is fraternity. The offense was good to great at times but as we saw here, turtles every so often. It didn't matter though. That defense never stopped. It was a fully armed and operational death star with no exhaust port

Washington defenders got all bunched up in the middle of the field for both plays. Give Michigan credit though because they must have designed it that way. Michigan has the brain power of the entire Harbaugh family (college and pro) brainstorming game plans on a short week. Not much Kalen Deboer or any coach could do to counter that advantage. Michigan would have rolled any team. Don't listen to all the people who say Georgia or FSU would have beaten Michigan. The only reason the Bama game was close was Michigan had an all-time worst performance by their special teams. In a normal game without any unusual help from special team gifts, both Texas and Washington beat Bama 7 or 8 times out of 10. Bama was gifted that "close" game.

I was upset that Jim Harbaugh decided to use the strategy of using running bags by committee, basically sharing the ball, with the staple of running backs. Now granted I didn’t see the game so I can make my assumptions and interpretations based off these highlights, but I was upset after those two huge touchdowns Jim Harbaugh decided to go with different back the rest of the game instead of riding the hot hand with him. I know in college ball most coaches want to give every player a chance to play regardless of the type of game it is whether it’s a normal regular season game or a big-time huge game like the championship game but in that situation after two huge confidence boosting touchdowns not just for Edwards but for the entire Michigan team that he deserved the right to stay in the game the entire time and only coming out to give him a break for a few plays so he can catch his breath and then put him right back in. Now again, since I didn’t watch the game, I don’t know if he wasn’t in the game for what we seen the rest of the highlights because of injuries but if he wasn’t injured, then yeah, I’m really confused as to why he didn’t remain in the game and being the one that is making the plays for the running game because I think after those two huge touchdowns, he deserves to stay in the game the entire time, but that’s just me.

Good game by Michigan, a win only possible by the defense who never let Penix get comfortable. Respect to Washington though, they played well but unfortunately they couldn’t pull through when they needed to, just too many mistakes on the O-line and in the passing attack doomed them. Definitely a championship game to remember.

I am No Georgia fan by the way and I had actually thought Michigan was much better than they turnout to be. I came to realize that when Alabama took them to OT and Alabama was not a typical Bama team this season. In fact I don't think they were even close to being great as they have been in the past. They just know how to beat Georgia. Anyway it is what it is and Michigan is the champs for 2024. Congrats to them and their fans. Michigan went back to its roots of smashmouth, pro-style, Big Ten football with a base 4-3 defense. I've gotten a little sick and tired of these finesse teams mirroring their offenses after Texas Tech, Hawaii, BYU, etc. over the past 10-15 years when a team constructed in the traditional mold could easily dominate them, as Harbaugh proved. Those supposedly "innovative" spread offenses are just to get younger audiences into college football. Lincoln Riley and Chip Kelly are bad coaches, and that's not real football.

      READ THIS!!!
Luke 15:7 I tell you, in just the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.
      🎉🎉🎉
Is it just wonderful to know that when you are saved, there is a party in Heaven. Just for you. That is how much you matter to God.
Believe in the Righteous Almighty God, and be saved.
Do you want to have a relationship with someone who loves you beyond any other love. Someone who sacrificed himself for you and everyone on this Earth the one who created the heavens and the Earth be creator of everything do you want to be saved. Do you want eternal life with peace and joy forever your answer is Jesus if you do not know who Jesus is read the following Jesus is the Son of God that came to this Earth to save the people of their sins. when God-created Earth sin same came into Earth and tempted Eve(The first woman) to eat the fruit that God had forbidden her and Adam to not eat. If they do, they will die. Not immediately, but death is certain. Eve ate the fruit and gave Adam some to eat as well. And he did. That showed that humans are sinners and not perfect. That is why Jesus came to Earth to save humans of their sins. This leads to a relationship with God(the main reason) and eternal life. He did that by dying on the cross. 3 days later, he resurrected. The story of Jesus is beautiful. If you do not already have a Bible, purchase one. If you do not have the money, pray to God about you wanting a Bible and if he could please provide one for you. This does not mean a Bible will come from the sky and land on your hands. Pray to God every day. But to not be blabbering that just say a bunch of words to try to impress and show off to other people or to impress. This does not mean long prayers are bad always pray out of the heart. Give thanks also when you pray. The Father (also God) sent his only son Jesus Christ to die for you. Rejoice brothers and sisters because your price was payed by Jesus Christ death.
      Acts 16:31
They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus , and you will be saved- you and your household."
      🎉
Jesus loves You, smile, isn't that just amazing❤😊🎉
Keep trying, no matter what problem that you face. The power of God can strengthen you, and help you, just turn to God
all glory to the almighty, and only God😊❤😊❤

One play in particular that really stands out was Mike Sainristil’s open field tackle at 4:23 on 3rd down to kill the drive. So many times you see players just go for the big hit, rather than wrapping up. Absolutely text book.

I have a problem with Washington not being concerned with Penix's injuries near the end of the game. He was obviously hurt, they were not going to win. They should have taken him at least for a couple plays for an examination.

'97 was a great season. Left a lot of great memories. Im about to turn 47 yrs old and Charles Woodson is still the best athlete I've ever seen. They are the best defense I've ever seen...then came along this '23 defense. The most complete team I've ever seen. I said before the first kickoff that this was OUR year. Our boys were HUNGRY and wanted it more than anybody. Hail To The Victors!!! Go Blue!!!
