- Tony Vargas (Owner of VTT Vargas Turbocharger Technologies) came by the shop today to show us his latest creation for the N54 engine platform. His "GC" turbos are simply Game Changers for bolt-on BMW turbo performance. VTT has taken their experience in OEM turbo rebuilds and upgrades and developed a turbocharger assembly that removes all the factory limitations and restrictions.
GC turbos two piece design makes installation much easier than the single piece welded OEM unit, saving time and money during installation or servicing. Power output is way up too. With out the restrictions and limitations of the factory design, GC Lite turbos are able to reach in excess of 750+ whp with proper tuning and fuel delivery. All while being less costly than factory turbos with no need to pay for and ship in a core. GC Lite turbochargers are available out-right with out any down time or turn-around waiting for your core charge to clear.
GC Lite turbos are quite simply, THE ideal turbo upgrade for N54 powered vehicles, whether it be a direct OEM replacement for a blown unit, or a full race build looking for world class output.

I was one whimper away from buying the GC turbos, but in the last second i hearing from a near friend that his new GC turbos blown away after 800km Running with 580HP. Thanks, but i go for the new TTE600, so thats more safe!
Tony: an inch is 25.4mm. The smallest diameter is the manifold is 33mm, or 1 1/3 inch (for the metricly impaired).

I have vargas stage 2 hybrid turbos fairly new with 18k on them. already need to be replaced.
Whats wrong with them? Was looking into these, rattle? Leak? What type of warranty did they offer? Did they help you out?
I'd say without looking aftermarket these are probably the way to go. Everything is made in Asia now, get used to it, quality control is mandatory on everything though...

I wouldn't buy anything from Vargas. Hands down the most unprofessional company/owner to deal with, not to mention all his other products fail prematurely and he doesn’t accept responsibility for any of the failures.

@Anthony Russo Stop advertising/trolling for pure. Do you work for them? At least type an original post instead of copy/pasting the same one over and over. FWIW I have 35k+ miles on my Vargas turbos that are daily driven.

Anthony Russo lol pures are the same thing... all these companies are using the same manufacturer for all these turbos. They even have the same markings and shape from the casting
Anthony Russo I’m not saying Vargas is any better than others, I know Vargas is trash. I’m saying that all of theses companies are to using the same Chinese manufacturer to build these, and either rebuilding them or having that manufacturer make custom stuff for them. Some are better than it here’s, like Pure, some like Vargas, aren’t good. The trick in this game is to find a quality manufacturer that does good work for you, or get the bulk turbos and reinforce them yourself. Come on anyone with a shred of sense can figure out what’s going on here. Ffs bmw oem turbos are Mitsubishi’s that are made in China. China makes everything these days and it’s just wrong and almost borderline racist to say that all Chinese made turbos are shit.
Anthony Russo like I said, I’m not saying to buy Vargas or anyone’s turbos, I’m saying they all buy them from the same Chinese manufacturers. I even have a picture of a Pure and an 800$ Shanghai eBay special with the same etched model numbers on them 😂 if Pures are lasting so long, I’m sure they are going on and changing parts that are known to fail, so they might last really long. But anyone with a brain and some common sense and patience and some engineering knowledge can order a pair of Chinese turbos for 800$, and rebuild them to last a long time. Mitsubishi’s are Chinese and they are used as oem in bmws. That’s all I’m saying

No the f10 535i uses the N55 single twin scroll turbo. Vargas does have an N55 turbo upgrade that Modbargins also carries. But I would recommend getting pure turbos N55 Stage 2 turbos as they have gotten the best results and are very well known and used in the community. As well have a great price.

Chinese do a good job. Send a print to China and they will build one for ya. Make a bulk order and sell it for a shit ton. Put your label on them and it's set. I'd know, see it done all the time.

"GC LITE" models start at 3000 and have the capacity for 700WHP. For max output, the standard "GC" line offers even greater flow and priced at 4600 for the set.

4.6k for 2 turbos? :DDD WOW.. You say it's cheaper.. I better buy BIGGER used turbo's. Then rebuild them as new. Then build custom exhaust manifold (what ever you want). And this would cost less than half price of what you offer. Cheers.

In trying to figure out what it would take to install this onto the e90 325i.
Well, your 325i came with a Naturally Aspirated N52 or N53 engine. So there is no way these turbos would work. Perhaps a custom configuration with proper tuning, but thats getting a bit extreme.
Just sell it and buy a 335i and save you some money.

Both the GC and GC Lite's fit in the OEM location. Only differences is price point and maximum power potential. GC Lites maxing out around 700, and the standard GC's in excess of 750+

The game changer is when the China made turbo blows apart screwing up your motor and he will say send turbo back so we can send back to China and get you another one....also keep saying cheaper .....cheaper then what a new motor because that is what you will need .....he has 739.00 dollars in a pair of these and selling for 4500.00 ..... be better off buying the China eBay 19t turbos for 850.00 shipped ......everyone knows he sold out to China give it up and go fool the dodge neon community

Tito Neal unfortunately that's not the case. I know of MANY blown Pure's. The difference is that they handle damage control MUCH differently than Vargas. Meaning, Pure will void warranty if you go public with the bad turbos.
every single turbo can blow even oem. it depends on the tune and how muxh psi are you running. pure has been proven to be the most reliable with proper tune.
I know some fools running 24psi on pure stage 2 with stock down pipe stock sparks stock exhaust stock intercooler with jb4 and they even blew up the engine itself. so it's all about how you modify the car and how you tune it.

Yeah so it costs about 6,000$ for the full setup. For that much you can get a reliable single turbo, this seemed fishy from the start. No real explanation or any major changes, just a slight change to the manifold and barely larger turbos. K.

Oh wow I didn't realise you could hit 700 at the wheels with the lite model. Even with shipping, ceramic coating and extra bits its only around 4600 .... Sold.

Do not buy VTT products. I bought a set of GC Lites that lasted less than 1k miles. Tony wants to inspect turbos before issuing a warranty. Also, a refund IS NOT an option with VTT. DO NOT BUY! VTT SUCKS!
