great install tutorial!! are the interior ambient lights dimmable?
Would you say it's worth the money? I will definitely be having the dealership install this as well. Also, can you change the color of the ambient lighting by replacing the LED or bulb? It doesn't look very bright at all. You had to rip your whole car apart to install these 3 accessories.
I feel it's worth it, the accessories are noticeable pretty much every time I drive the car at night. It's subtle lighting. Don't see any way you could easily change the bulb color. Believe it or not disassembling the interior in the accord is relatively easy to do. Fishing the wires was the most challenging part of the install for the puddle lights.
Good video, still relevant today. I've been hoping to purchase the ambient lighting kit (since it functions all the oem features), but want to modify it so that an rgb remote bulb can take its place. I noticed you mentioned it's sealed in, but if I spliced into the connector that's suppose to attach to the ambient light itself... would this idea work? Hoping to add some more color options to this oem product, while avoiding using something less oem looking, like lighting strips.
What did u use to cut it out - for the puddle light
there is a only one plug socket ? I think you pass something quickly but very important. mine is come just one 6 pin connector! and no extra connector how you connect other one. sorry my english. i have one door sill light and other is foot light. but there is a no any extra connector to make both connect. did you buy extra harness make the double ?

The puddle lights was probably the toughest oem accessory to put on in lieu of fishing the harness into the cabin.
You forgot to mention the plastic plugs on the bottom of the door sill that have to be removed, this was not done well, sorry.
Can you please make it clear exactly where you plugged in the ambient light connector
At around 8:25 in the video you can see the oem port I'm using to plug into. Then the other two plugs daisy chain to that one.
I connected it but its only working with doors and when I close doors lights get closed too, do i need to connect it in the middle too with something you were saying pigtail things? Thanks alot for your response
@@cfinoman am out of town for a few days at the moment. But if I recall they turn on when the doors open, they turn off when you close the doors and then when you start the car and it's dark out or headlights are on the ambient lights come on. Will double check in a few days when I get back.
Can you install 2 pairs of the OEM puddle lights? for all 4 doors?
Hi, I ordered a LED door sill kit off ebay and it looks like they sent me the harness for the 9th gen (get what you pay for, I know...). I wanted to ask if you could confirm the wires on the 6 pin adapter for the sill kit are the two far right top and bottom plugs? I paused your video at 9:04 when you plugged in your OEM sill lights to the adapter and it looks like those are the correct plugs but wanted to double check before I modified the harness and manually spliced the wires into the plug. Thank you so much for your videos, I'm slowly modding my 10th gen after watching your channel.

Installing just the door sills do I near to fully tear apart interior?
Just requires pulling a few panels if I recall correctly.

Looks great. What is the approximate color temp of the puddle lights like? They are LED correct? I'm concerned about them at least semi- matching my pure white 5k interior led lighting.
They are led and are not replaceable, pretty strong white, probably 3-5k range in color.
So does this totally void your warranty? Just wondering for myself, just snagged a 2020
These are oem accessories, will not void warranty.
Lucky you. You have a light on the door. Anything beside the touring doesn’t have it. Change your door light to the Honda logo :)
All my interior lights are currently blue, if I can find a blue Honda light, might put it in.
That's actually not true. My girl's ex-l has the light on the door. And by door I assume you mean door panel.
Hatters House 710 yes I mean the door panel. Are you sure ? My sport 2.0t doesn’t have it and it’s based on the ex trim. And the ex and exl should be the same exact expect the leather and audio system.

Got a quote from my dealership its pretty expensive . Just wondering how long did it take to do this job?
Probably 7 or 8 hours, 2 hours were spent fishing the harness for the puddle lights. Probably wasted an hour figuring stuff there was little documentation for. Knowing what I know now could likely do everything but fish the puddle light harness in probably 3 hours. Didn't really learn a good way to fish that wire through.
Do the puddle lights come in a set? Or you buy them singles?
They come in a set.

Yes
Before working. Should I have to unplug the battery??
It's recommended to do pretty much before every install where you are unclipping a wire harness. I rarely do, will not hurt anything to disconnect the battery.
Would it be easy to change the bulbs on these? Just did my hatch, map, and dome lights. Would love to chsnge these if possible.
The puddle lights and ambient bulbs are sealed in a non serviceable housing. Could likely swap them out but there would be risk to the housing to attempt it.

They're plenty bright. Was just wondering if these super bright LEDs would look good. Oh well, they look good on the inside. :)

I don't have the part number to the harnesses, looked at my pics and video and couldn't see it displayed anywhere.
Just a Honda Accord but is it possible to buy just the harnesses? Can one be bought and split up for the door lights and ambient footwell lights?
What was your total cost for the parts?
Feel like I got them on ebay for 3-400$.
