In terms of DPS I think it's just the best period, since its draw weight is much faster than the other high-damage bows. The only problem with it is that Mystic Binding doesn't upgrade the base arrows, but then you can just get Bound Quiver and now you have free copies of what I believe are one of if not just the best arrows in the game.
A small thing about transmute is that if you want 2 silver ores you have to cast it once then drop the silver then cast it again otherwise it will turn your silver into gold
It's really all about ones preference. I like control spell like: Paralyze Paralyze rune(takes out whole groups) Calm/ Fear Cloak spells. These really help when getting mobbed.
Conjured weapons in general are the GOAT (yes, even the Battleaxe) because they can soul trap, turn summons and banish Daedra, weigh nothing and utilize less stamina than actual weapons.
The flame and frostbite spells are my favoriting looking spells it's a shame they suck. Also I like doing builds with just one school of spells so for example I'd have to only use illusion to win or only conjuration, it's kinda fun.
id like to say these are great for early characters primarily, but far from the best, healing is cool but ebonyflesh + mage armor perk = 250 extra AR and for damage there are spells like ignite which is a fire missile that can stagger and fear while doing 4x15 fire damage from the offhand increasing your mainhand overall dps and giving you range. These are again great but arent that crazy compared to the versatility and efficiency of other spellsfor example, mages on legendary need to do a lot of avoiding damage since they can't go crazy on deadric armor ala flesh spells, fast healing is also better imo seeing as you can run away from what's doing the damage while you regen magicka.
Bound Bow STARTS at Daedric damage. Mystic Binding DOUBLES that. If you're not smithing, Bound Bow is the highest damage bow in the game.

I prefer modded spells....like lightning storm
I feel as though flaming familiar is better than flame atronach because of range and cost
