That JD Triple Mash is the gift that keeps on giving--it's SO complex and I swear it tastes different every time I drink it. For 35-ish bucks, it's a fantastic whiskey. I also love Still Austin's Bourbon, though the Cask Strength beats out the regular for me. Can't wait for that rye to land near me!
Another great video! May I suggest that you put a diffuser on your primary light source shining on you? The lighting is really harsh on you two. One (don't know how many you use) light can be seen in the Bookers behind you. Randy is really lit-up and it gets pretty dark off of Wes' left shoulder. Just my 2 cents.

My gosh, any Still Austin will do (love the gin as well)...though the new single barrels seem VERY single barrel variable, which is maybe normal for the first ones out of the gate. I have one on either side of the regular Cask Strength's deliciousness. The 100% rye Artist is also very delicious. Finally I am adjusting to the Calumet 15/16 profile...had some 16 as a pre-Gatsby bottle pop warmup last night. In a few months my palate may catch up to the nerds that completely get that age level.
It's not available in your area, but if your in Kentucky, try anything by Bluegrass Distillers. they have what I think is a pretty good lineup. I'm partial to the cask strength Blue Corn Bourbon. TonyB

Heaven Hill doesn’t do the drops like that anymore I did get the old fitz 11 year before they changed it now they randomly put it on the counter different days and times
@@scottr570 I just googled it. I remembered it being in the 80s. I have a bottle that was my grandfathers that was bottled in 84 that was 90 proof. It is possible that the 90 proof was still floating around the market for years after they made the switch at the distillery too.
Yea they sure do need to make some changes. Not a JD fan at all. They fall way behind the modern day bourbon curve in my view. Thanks for the great advice.

That is fair. I always disclose when I have a conflict of interest. As I mentioned, my contract with them did not require me to include them nor was I compensated in any way for them being in the episode.
@Bourbon Real Talk Still Austin CS was just burn. I have lots of high proof stuff but this was not enjoyable whisky. No lingering aromas around, it felt unbalanced. Someone I know had a CS Rye and said it's not good. I'm gonna get a sample soon and will see how I feel about that one.

I was able to grab a MM BRT-02 I believe and the Calumet 16 year. Both are phenomenal pours!

Maybe not. I don't always love the higher age stuff. Anything over 12 is suspect for my palate.
