    In case anyone was wondering, for the Octane 1" the stopwatch is showing 12.8 seconds and for the new impact: 8.7 seconds: 32% faster than the octane.

I'm fairly certain on the iMovie app for iOS that you can do an overlay- so with that idea you could potentially film a stopwatch app (via screen record) and put that in the corner- all assuming you have an iPhone / iPad / Mac of course.

    Getting up to speed on some of your older Ridgid videos, now that I’m making the transition into the Ridgid line. Very impressed with the Max Output impact driver and I’m happy that it’s included in the 4 tool kit that I’ll be picking up soon. I would put that impact right up there with the Gen 3 Milwaukee, which I also have. One other thing to note aside from the incredible power of the driver is the fact that it seems Ridgid also improved the grip of the collet. The Octane lost some of the bits when you released the driver out of the material. That wasn’t the case with the Max Output. It had no problem holding on to bits when you pulled it out of the wood. Great job Robert!

    So, I've seen a couple of videos that you have don't comparing the Octane tools with the Max output line. And after seeing this one. It seems it may be just as much or more to do with the specific tool than the batteries themselves. I have just recently purchased the high torque impact wrench that Ridgid still currently has out. That has (at least on a different channel). Completely dominated the Milwaukee high torque model. Of course the battery used was the Octane 3ah. Which according to everything I've been able to find. Is the only Ridgid Octane battery that came with the 21700 cells in them. So I'm wondering if a different ah Octane battery was used like a 6 or 9 ah if tue results would still show Octane coming out on top more often than the Max output?

    • @ToolswithSoAlz
      @ToolswithSoAlz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've tested both brands using the opposing battery and usually the Max Output comes out on top. The one tool where that isn't the case is the Octane hammer drill. That thing is a monster. Of course I do try to do comparable batteries, ah at least, against one another. Later this year I'll be testing the 6ah Octane battery against the 6ah Max Output. That will give us all a better idea of which battery is best and I'll do it with both lines of tools so we know which models are superior or inferior. Should be fun. Thank you for watching.

      The Octane's are great and I really enjoy them. I got this kit because I love power tools. What's surprised me is that, so far, they have all outperformed their Octane counterpart. Some of the new changes might not be for the better but overall they are very impressive tools. I'm telling you now, the Max Output hammer drill is likely going to surprise everyone. This is one of the reasons I was reserving judgement until I got the tools in my hand. Looking back at it, I believe I was right.

    I know this is an old video. I have been getting back on Ridgid just recently thanks to those clearance deals I have been coming across. I have to say that I had to learn to love Ridgid as I know deep down there are certain things I don't like about them, but they are no deal breakers. I find myself comparing Ridgid with Kobalt constantly, but it seems to me that Ridgid is a step above it as the quality is better. I think a fair comparison would be Metabo HPT as that brand provides lifetime warranty on like 85% of their tools just like Ridgid. The way I see it, I feel TTi is trying to step up every brand that they work on because if you pay attention to the details, the new Ryobi is shaping to look like Ridgid of last gen, while Ridgid is starting to look like the Milwaukees of last gen. If I am not mistaken....they might bring back Octane in some shape or form....possibly under a different name. First, they need to release the basic line of tools that they have announced, then implement the Fuel formula.

    • @ToolswithSoAlz
      @ToolswithSoAlz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, giving the Octane the 3ah battery was giving it an advantage. The 3ah Octane battery has 21700 cells that gives the impact driver extra power. The 4ah Max Output battery only has 18650 cells.
      As for using a Phillips head screw, it is an impact driver competition and that is what these were designed to do. If you have a suggestion on different tests I should use then I am open to trying it.
      However, these tests showed, beyond a shadow of doubt, the Max Output is far more powerful and fast than the Octane.

      Ah the old, "You used the wrong battery" trope. The fact of the matter is that the 3ah Octane battery should have given the Octane impact a huge step up in performance. The 3ah Octane battery happens to have 217pp cells in it whereas the 4ah Max Output only has 18650 cells. What you saw was the Octane getting beaten handily by the new brushless Max Output. But what you didn't see was an unfair comparison.
