    Just finished this fix with my son. I am NOT mechanically inclined and did it no problem. Music sounds great again. Thank you!!

    Thanks for making this video. My speakers started rattling a few weeks ago…this saved me a lot of money.

      I’m glad it could help! E6000 glue would be my recommendation although the ca glue and gorilla gel super glue has been holding up fine for me.

    I came for the food and stayed for the company! Both speakers sorted, sound deadening done and rear tweeters upgraded. Cheers mate

    Great vid dude. Bought my 2015 used and discovered the rattling speakers. I was imagining having to spend hundreds at the dealer for a replacement but I did this fix and just tested them. Cranked up some D'Angelo and by golly they're fixed and sound great. Thanks a ton.

      Best of luck on the repair. CA glue and super glue works well, but E6000 glue is a little more flexible and may hold longer!

    What’s hilarious to me- I just watched and commented on your mileage update recently. And you said “the speakers will need to be fixed, at some point it will happen”. 5 days later, it happened 😂

    Could you use the CA-EM 2000 Thick Gap Filler in place of the CA-EM02 Thin that you used?

    • @DariusBuildz

      I’m thinking so, bc I’ve seen people use silicon and E6000 for the repair as well.

    Great video. So far so good, the system sounds great again, all for the price of a bit of glue. Thanks

      It’s so much better when they are not rattling!

  • @keithtombs

    Do you actually need this ribbed backing? Looking at mine and it looks like it doesn’t really do much but maybe a bit of resistance on the cone?

    • @keithtombs

      Don’t worry… just answered my own question… it keeps the cone and coil lined up… so it really does need to be glued back in place.

    • @DariusBuildz

      Ok. I was going to say, yes that is needed. If you were to cut out that the sub would not function.

  • @chriscarpen786

    Solution: Buy some acoustic foam or material that is used fo dampen vibrations and stuff it in the door cup holder. That should alleviate most if not all of the issues with the audio. Visually, not the most appealing but it gets the job done for me at least. I can comfortably turn my bass to 4 and not have much rattles. Try it and let me know what happens

    • @DariusBuildz

      Other than the speaker itself rattling, when I tightened the screws that attached the door trim to the doors, the rest of my rattles went away.

    • @chriscarpen786

      @@DariusBuildz I did the same thing to my car and the rattles were still there. I also learned that windows rattle too. Rolling the window up and down seems to alleviate that

  • @michaelv1984
    @michaelv1984 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I’m using rtv silicone. They need to recall this because it’s on every Bose system from s wide range of years. My 2015 mazda 3 has had it for years on the passenger side and it drives me nuts. Even very low volume rattles badly.

    • @DariusBuildz
      @DariusBuildz  ปีที่แล้ว

      It would have been nice for a recall. I have fixed about 15 speakers total between 3, 6, and CX5's.

  • @chrissymes8092
    @chrissymes8092 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey with the rattling does the speaker also produce a degraded sound like really muffled? I’m pretty sure that the issue you show here is my problem also but not sure if it is this or the actual cone is damaged.
    I don’t particularly want to take off the door trim just too have a look (read- too lazy) and it is consistent 36 degrees c (98 degrees f?) here atm so that’s another thing. I know I’ll have to take it off eventually though 😂

    • @DariusBuildz
      @DariusBuildz  ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine didn’t really sound muddled more than the apparent “flapping” from part of the surround being loose. But if you turn the bass down, does it sound fine, then as you increased the bass, it sounds more muffled?
