I like watching you and you do a great job showing what and how you do it. We learn from you and I’m thankful. You do you Becky, that’s right you do what works for you , it doesn’t mean anyone else has to do it like you , but you sure give us hope that maybe it might work better for us too, gives us hope that your not afraid to try something different. I hope I’m explaining well, and hope you know what i mean. But i say a big thank you and to all who put themselves out there to help us on sewing.
Thank you! I appreciate your kind words.🙂💜
Thank you Becky for making a video about my product. Having made a videos myself, I know that they are a lot of work to make. I want to make Edge to Edge even easier for you with the machine you are on. Baby Lock and Brother Machines bring all designs into the machine in the center position. (They over ride my left start point.) Right after you bring the design into the machine, there is a icon on your machine the looked like a needle over a piece of fabric. If you press that icon, you can change the start point over to the left side, and then use your “movement” arrows to line up with the prior bend point. No need for a paper template or a snowman! Thanks again for making the video.
WOW! Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! I'm just now seeing this (sorry!) I'll have to find that button you are talking about and test it out. Since I bought my machine from a private sale, I've never had a class to show me how to do all the fancy things my machine can actually do. I'd love to demo more of your products to my viewers. Please email me at powertoolswiththread@outlook.com
Becky, thank you for your vulnerability by showing us your projects. You are refreshing by laughing at your mistakes and staying upbeat as you sew. Keep it up.
Hi Becky! I have been watching your channel for about 6 or 8 months now and love your videos! For the life of me, I cannot understand why people feel the need to be ugly to someone who is taking the time to try to give FREE instruction to others of us who may not have taken home-ec in school or whose mothers didn't teach us to sew! I have been sewing, short of making a couple of pillows when I was a kid, for a little over 2 years, and I learned just about every single thing I know form TH-cam videos from kind people like you who have chosen to share a very valuable and enjoyable skill with the rest of us. I am eternally grateful for all the TH-cam teachers out there who have given me the tools to have a hobby would never have had the opportunity to learn otherwise. So THANK YOU so much the time and effort you spend to make these videos!! Please keep it up 😊😊!
Aren't you sweet? I really appreciate you sharing your sentiments with me. Makes it all worthwhile. :)
Becky you stay just the way you are! It’s great knowing there are still down to earth people out there.
Your the best!!!😍
Becky, I love it that you just do it "Becky's way" as you have given me so much information and the nerve to just "do it" that I have never had before. I have been at the sewing for over 50 years but just stuck to the sewing police rules. Not any more! LOL Thanks for all you do and don't change.
You are so real, if you make a mistake I like that you show us what to do to correct it, we all make mistakes and that is how we learn. I have learned so much from you, thank you for helping all of us.
Becky, your video is better than all others using these quilting designs. You explain step by step, as usual, making it easy to see and understand. You are the absolute best.
Just love your videos Becky. I check daily
And sometimes multiple checks daily to see if you uploaded another video. I look forward to your videos. You are the BEST!!!
I have been watching your videos and am so glad I found you and I don’t want you to change. I am 72 years old and you are teaching me so many things. I have told you before that I love it when you say that’s my blog. Please don’t listen to the critics because I believe there are trolls that go from site to site saying not very nice things to people. I paid good money to take a classes for quilting and machine embroidery. I found I was so trying to do their thing and do so perfect that I just quit, that’s why I have a machine that costs thousands of dollars that was just sitting there. Then I found you. I have also found my favorite quilt maker that has taught me much. I love you both because you are just down to earth and if I make a mistake I don’t feel like a failure. So please keep on keeping on so I can get better doing this. I love your videos and have followed many of your links and purchased items to make playing with my machines easier. Thanks so much.
I am coming back to sewing after many years of working in the `real' world. I am so glad that you do not take yourself seriously, sewing is a pleasure for me I just wish I could make something as good as you do, UK.
Becky, when you said "I have to do what works for me", it woke me up. I had been struggling with a v-neck facing on a top I was making for my daughter. I had to take the top apart and decided to make it in units, and then sew them together. (front with front neck facing and back with back neck facing). Then I sewed the front and back of the top together. And it worked like a charm. So happy. That worked for me! Lol.
Well I'm proud that you didn't give up on that facing. They can be SO challenging! Sometimes when I read the pattern instructions, I wonder..."What were they thinking?" Especially when you know there's a better and/or easier way. Thanks!
Don’t change a bit, you are so much FUN; and I am learning so much !! Thank you for giving of all your time.
Thanks so much!
We all make a mistakes I think we learn the most from our mistakes. I've learned a lot from watching your videos and you make it fun. I'll be there watching as much as I can! Love you ♥️👍☀️
As a new subscriber I find you so refreshing because you are so naturally you, so pleased I found you, love your videos
Becky, I love the fact that you are just like me.....lol. I have been sewing for a few more years than you, but I am very new to embroidery. It was watching your videos that got me really into it. I have learned more from you than any professional I have talked to. I think that just being you is the best part. You keep doing what you do. I love it!!!!
Becky--don't let negative people get you down. I love your channel and look forward to every one of your videos!!!!! I don't understand how some people can be nasty to anyone! Stay positive!
You have made a better friend of your machine than I have mine, my Solaris 2 has been mine for about 6 months old
I have learned so much from your videos girl there is always some one your not going to please! We call them a know it all! I learned how to put embroidery designs from my computer to a USB to use in my Husqvarna viking designer epic 2 thank you for this!💝
Thanks for doing what you do. You are real!! I’ve been following you for awhile and you have never lead me astray.
Hi Becky Love the fact that you 'are who you are' and know that we are only human and can always make mistakes. I have learned so much from you and have found new support and understanding from the recommendations you have given. I have for instance got out my Scan n Cut that had been put in my cupboard as i was overwhelmed with the technology of it. I followed your advise and went to Alanda Training Academy and they are brilliant, they take you through each action step by step. I am now enjoying using the Scan n Cut and have so much more confidence. My sewing is my therapy and so are you. You always make me smile. I am from England and I am a Londoner and we Londoners 'say it how it is' and you just carry on the way you are as its the right way. There's a quilters saying that goes. ONLY GOD IS PERFECT.
I enjoy watch your tutorials. I have learned a lot from you channel. Reinforce what I read and learned over time. Continue your work will help many people. It’s help at this troubles you time in the world Thank you for you time and work.
Real home sewers are happy people and they don't criticize other home sewers. Ignore negative comments, please. I love your channel.
You are SO right!!♥️😊
I love learning new ways to do it. Your way may or may not work best.
Keep on sharing with us. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I've just found your channel while looking for info on edge to edge quilting. I'm sitting here as you proclaim yourself just a regular kind of quilter and your humility is refreshing. BTW - the babydoll behind you on the top of the shelf - I have a Susie doll that was mine (I'm 64 now) and she watches me sew everyday. That made me chuckle.
I love your channel and appreciate the way “you” do things. Makes Perfect sense to me. Thank you.
I’m a born and bred Texan and I just ❤️❤️❤️ your videos. I take from them “what works for me” and I couldn’t agree more with your quilting and machine embroidery philosophy. Thank you so very much for all you do for us 💐👏🐶
I love that you are just a home sewer etc and share your experiences with us!
Love love your channel, you have being my teacher this 3 years that I started with embroidering and I have learned so much, I truly respect your knowledge a and really appreciate your work!! Thank you sooooo much for your time and for sharing your knowledge!!!
First time I saw your video and I noticed that I have the same machine. I'm still learning and making lots of mistakes. I really like your honesty. Keep on sewing !!!
I watch you because I love the WOW moments I have from you. We all learn from our mistakes and that's how new things are invented. Soooo, You Go Girl !
Love to watch your video!! I’ve been sewing for 57 years!!! I’m old school without too many gadgets but I really enjoy all of yours!! You are so talented and just down home!! Love it!!! The wall hanging is beautiful!! By the way, like I told you before, watching you had made me want to sew more garments again. I cut out a blouse pattern today out of gorgeous material my niece gave me!! So much fun!!! Can’t wait to see you again!!!!
That's awesome that you're sewing again! Yay! Good for you!
I'm a new subscriber to your channel so this comment my be a little late but I'm going to add it anyway. I have watched more of your videos since finding them than any other that i am subscribed to. The reason is i LOVE how real you are. Not everything is perfect....the thread breaks...the foot sometimes gets caught in the fabric. I appreciate all of this because it helps me to realize these things happen to everyone not just me. I am not new to the craft but have learned so many little tips and tricks while watching your videos. I appreciate that you share how you would do things differently than the instructions and why. Like most things in life there is more than one way to do it. Thanks for sharing with us. I love your videos!!!
Love your videos! I've been sewing since I was 8-years-old and am now in my 70s. I'm content with the machines I have...including my Mom's Featherweight 221 that I learned to on...still sews like a dream. I will never be able to afford all the great "power tools" you have so I "sew" vicariously through you. Thank you for taking the time to encourage all of us who love to sew!!!
just wanna say thanks I enjoy all you do
I love learning from you and think it is great that you do things your way and if you make a mistake I learn from it! Thank you for all you do and share.
Thanks for just putting it out there. I’m VERY retired (meaning I’m old) and love watching you. I don’t have a quilting machine but still enjoy watching.
I love your videos ! Very genuine person ! Thank you so much for coming into our homes with your sweet self! 😊
I love your channel. You are very refreshing. Thanks for all you do. I am so new to embroidery that anything you do is helpful. Still learning.
Oh! I having been waiting for this. I watch quilting you tubes all the time and it's the first time I've seen this. I bought my daughter a long arm and she moved to Mn, I live in AZ and I so need this. Thank you,
Good morning Becky, I am watching you from deck 10 of Carnival Cruise heading into Puerto Vallarta, enjoying the view and listening to your vlog. Found an amazing quilt store in Mazatalon yesterday and was in heaven.
Seriously? Didn't you have anything better to do than watch me on a cruise? LOL Hope you had a great time! I'll have to check out that quilt shop on our next one.
I love watching you & I sure love watching you. Keep it up.
I love that you are on You Tube and I have learned a lot from you!
I love your authenticity and your videos. I always learn something new and enjoy seeing what you're up to. I've even purchased a few of the products you've shared with us, including the edge to edge embroidery because I trust your judgement. Keep being "just" you! We'll be watching 😊
Thank you so much for getting back to me. I figured out what was wrong with my embroidery machine when I was doing my edge to edge quilting. My embroidery machine was touching the wall behind my machine. I moved my sewing cabinet out some frame could move with out hitting the wall.
I love your videos. I’m a quilter and I enjoy your tips on quilting. I’m not an embroiderer, and I still enjoy your videos. Just keep doing what you do and how you do it. If I did anything the way “ you’re supposed to”, I’d be in trouble all the time.
Pay no attention to truly negative comments about your videos, some folks just tend to nitpick. I learned a looong time ago , that unless it is against the law or will hurt someone , to listen to your heart and follow only that. I love your channel, you are doing a lot of work for your subscribers and I for one really appreciate your efforts. When you make a boo boo, it makes me laugh knowing I am not the only one who can flub up. I am proud to take time to watch and just have fun. That is what our sewing hobby should be F U N. Thanks for your sweet spirit of of giving and sharing.
You are such a doll! Great advice. Thank you!
Becky you have taught me so much, and we all make mistakes that's what makes us human! Keep the videos coming you show us so many wonderful things we can make!!
Becky, I really enjoy watching your channel. Great ideas, funny stories and a wonderful cheerful person. Keep it up.
Becky I really enjoy your videos and positive attitude. Love to watch, thanks
I have most of these designs but have not tried it yet. I’m kinda intimidated by it. So happy to find your channel so I can get an idea on how to do it. I’m good at making the quilt tops but hard pressed to do the quilting. I can’t seem to get the hang of free style quilting with my machine. I bought these designs to attempt to quilt my quilt tops. Thank you for the inspiration
I too stink at free motion quilting on a regular machine. That's why I love this system!
Becky, Thank you for inviting us in your home and so generously sharing your knowledge. I came to your site from Joy I think back in May. I have been grateful to her for leading me to such a down to heart person whom I have learned a lot from.
We love you just the way you are. Don’t cow to silliness. That’s everywhere.
You are very entertaining Becky that is why I like this channel!
Great video. I took a class on quilting with embroidery machine. You've explained it so much better than what I tried to learn in my class. I struggled with it but now that I've watched you do it, I might attempt it again. Thanks so much.
Thank you for what you do, there is no place to belong as a crafter in my area so I really appreciate watching your funny, informative and caring self, it makes me feel like we are friends sitting in my sewing area. Keep being the Becky I have grown to love, you are such a wonder person.
Love the "Just go for it" attitude. Been happily doing it for almost 60 years and ignore the Sewing Police.
All errors are merely learning opportunities.
Keep on keeping on as long as you are satisfied.
Ha Ha! The first time I used edge to edge, I quilted a large quilt. AND... I did it my way. I too did not follow the directions. And I stitched out template using black thread. Worked well. I think it’s cool to use my creativity when I sew. Everything is unique. And I, too, love using my magnetic hoop when quilting. I’ll never use a regular hoop again. I used my big one with my big quilt. Machines with pinpoint placement features make this so much easier. And...quilting is a labor of love😊🤗
You and I are two peas in a pod! lol
I also sew, quilt and machine embroider so I love that you show all 3 techniques. Not many people do so. I like seeing different ways to do make a project. I use Amelie Scott Edge to Edge for all my quilts if I’m not using a walking foot. I’m going to try it your way next time! Great idea. I have a Weightless Quilter and so appreciate it. No more sore shoulders. Having you share Notions, products and patterns is pure fun. Nice to know what’s on the market. You do good, girl! Thanks.
Keep doing what you do!!! Be the best you that you can be. Love your videos. I don't have an embroidery machine but I love watching what you're doing.
Thank you for all your help. Your videos are so well done. I love that you give us so many helpful tips.
I am one of your new subscribers and catching up on all of your videos. I just wish I had a thimble full of your talent! I can't even seem to make a quilt without some kind of error involved never mind trying to understand an embrodery machine and all of the details involved with it. I've been sewing since I was about 10 having learned in school. You would think being 64 years old I would get it by now. Keep up being one of best videoers on this subject with an added bonus of a great personality!
Thanks and I'm glad you're enjoying my journey. Keep at it. You learn as much by your mistakes as you do by your successes. :-)
Hi Becky. I love watching you sew and make mistakes, rarely, like some of us regular sewers do. And then you show or tell us some options. That is so helpful. I have a Janome 11000 quilter/embroider machine. Never used the magnetic hoop. But I am now. You have the Brother but they all work in a similar way with a few tweeks. I think I can figure it out now. Thank you.
I have used this on up to a queen size bedspread. I just attach the print out to a centering template for my monster hoop and tape it to the quilt. Then proceed with the matching marks with the target stickers . It takes a little time but it is really satisfying to finish the quilt myself. Love your videos and your personal take on how it all works out in the end.
I love your videos. I just share to my daughter who started sewing 6 months ago and I just got her for Christmas an embroidery machine. Keep on teaching.
Good morning Becky, This is the first time I didn't see your smiling face, it sounds like someone gave you a bad negative comment, WELLl You are a very special person and you do GREAT videos, I have learned a lot from you and I bought alot of the products you use because of you. So you keep on doing happy and jolly videos and tell your husband that the good comments should go to your head because you are a GOOD person, and if 1 out of 1,834 people say something negative it's them not you. On another note THANK YOU for this video I learned a lot and I already bought all my supplies and can't wait to get started. You always try to make your viewers happy and I am very happy, you keep up the good work I will always be looking for your videos, I look everyday for you, I can't wait for you to retirer so you can make more. You have a wonderful day.
Becky,
I'm sorry there are such mean spirited people who are bothering you.
I've taken lots of quilting classes and they all do things differently so I've learned you use what works for you.
I like your fun personality and all of the cool tools you have and readily show us how they work so we know if we want to spend our money on them or not. Keep up with the videos.i really enjoy them!!
You are always a joy to watch, love your attitude and always a smile and a good laugh. I know you wont't change because this is who you are! It is so wonderful to share all the things you do and I always learn something and get inspired. You accomplish so much so what the heck keep on stitching and making mistakes and laugh about it , learn and keep going! You have my vote!
Becky, I am sorry that you have experienced such negativity. You are providing very helpful information. Some people have to bring others down so, they can build themselves up. Try to ignore them. Most of us do appreciate the time and effort that you have voluntarily given. Thank-you, Ann
I have learned so much from you. I love your down to earth method. I feel like I am in the room looking over your shoulder. Please don't change.
I love my magnetic hoop with the Amelie designs. I have quilted many quilt with her designs. Ms Becky just be who you are. I enjoy watching your videos.
I've just started quilting and I have an embroidery machine. I tried to do free motion and didn't care for it, but this looks like the perfect thing to quilt with! Thanks so much for showing how it works!
Thank you . I have learned a lot from watching your videos. I just purchased Embrilliance Essentials and Thumbnailer because of your tutorial videos. I am just learning and determined to learn edge to edge quilting on my embroidery machine.
Wonderful! It's so much fun!
Thank you for this tutorial. I bought a couple of Amelie Scott Designs and I have not had the courage to try them. After watching this, I will get them and finish up some wall hangings that I have and also do a twin size quilt. Thank you again!
I have been with you since the beginning.. i love who you are and enjoy the mistakes and the successes... Don't change. You give me hope that maybe i can do it too. We all love you sugar moser
Thank you!!
I can’t imagine my week without your videos. I can never wait to watch. You are so down to earth just like me. Lol
You are absolutely amazing!! And NO ONE IS PERFECT WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES and do things our own way! I'm left handed so I have to do things differently its just recently that the professionals have started making tools for ppl like me! And now trying to use those feel weird lolol but I love what you do! And your a great help to me!!💜💜💜
Thank you so much!!
Becky, you are such an inspiration! I have been looking at longarm machines but after I watched this video, I've been in a trance!!! I really want to get a magnahoop and try this, thank you so much for your videos!!
Hi, Becky, I just want to thank you for all your videos, they are very interesting, informative and entertaining, whatever the subject. I have learned so much and have been inspired to try different things after watching them. Kind regards from Penny in Liverpool 🇬🇧💕😊
Baby girl just keep doing what you are doing. I look forward to all your videos.
We love you JUST THE WAY YOU ARE.....you are REAL, GENUINE and just like us!!!♥️♥️♥️
Thank you for your service and thank you for being a bubbly personality and you do it your way if people don't like it they can leave but you keep being you
Hey Becky! I love watching your videos! You are so real and down to earth and easy to relate to. Keep being "Becky" cuz you is loved!
Becky, I love watching your videos and sharing 'your way' with us. I always feel like I am in your sewing room with you and we are learning together. When you discover that maybe something would be a better way, it is helpful to everyone as we are made aware. I would never be able to do what you are doing, so thank you for sharing! BRAVO!
Becky you are awesome. If people can't say something positive they need not watch.
Don’t let others rain on you! I appreciate you sharing what works for you, so that if something doesn’t work for me by the “book”, you have given me other ideas! Standard leads to no new ideas:)
Thank you for showing me another way of doing this system, I followed the instructions in the book and it was so trying that after a small baby quilt, I had had it. But upon seeing how you are doing it, it makes sense now. Thanks again!
Thanks for sharing your method. I took a class on Edge to Edge. Your method looks so much easier. Excited to try it😃
You go girl, I love the way you are so honest and true to yourself! Your always a pleasure to watch! Please keep doing what your doing and don't change a thing. You are perfect just they way you are!!!!
I really enjoy you and you make it so easy to follow! You are
Really good at what you do! Thanks.
Becky, you and your videos are wonderful and so appreciated. I could never afford even a fraction of your power tools, so I feel as if I'm watching episodes of, "Life Styles of the Rich and Famous." Fun, fun! And as always, thank you!
Becky, you have brought joy and enthusiasm to my sewing. I was in the doldrums about sewing till you came along. Keep up the good work.
I have that same quilt edge to edge system you have. I have not taken it out of the bag yet. Hmm guess I can do this. Thank you.
Love your videos.
Great! I think you'll really like it. Try a couple of runs first on a scrap project before a keepsake. :)
Becky, I love your journey. You make me giggle. Keep up the great videos you do.
Becky, I enjoy your videos. Keep them coming please.
Love watching your videos you’re right on fantastic! We all make mistakes and if we don’t (lucky you). We don’t learn just like you said! I made one yesterday cutting blocks and I got five stitches in my finger! That puppy is staying out of the way from now on!! Your great!
Thanks so much Becky for demonstrating quilting with embroidery machine. It’s one of the reasons I bought my Bernina 770QEE. I wondered how this software worked. Looks great and now I will try it on my Harmony wall hanging I am working on!
Hi Becky I only found your channel a few weeks ago but I love it you say how it is and your honest about it, love the hints and tips and down to earth approach, don’t change keep them videos coming
I love the way you provide and show each step in your embroidery. Thanks for the demo on doing the machine embroidery with the horizontal approach. I have the design and did a small quilt using the vertical method. I think the horizontal method looks easier. I am going to give this a try on my next project.
You are such an inspiration and very knowledgeable. Don’t let anyone’s negativity or criticism get you down.
Thanks so much for sharing your talents with us. Keep those get videos coming.
Hi! I'm so glad to have found you! You are down home, down to earth and so fun to watch. Joy Bernhardt reccommended you on her videos, and I'm so happy she did. I enjoy watching you and I'm learning things. I love your name, "Power Tools with Thread." It reminds me of my dad, he was an electrician and I wanted to be a daddy's girl. I feel a connection anyway. I love to sew and love learning new things. I can't wait until I can start using technology with my sewing. Hopefully after my back heals up from recent surgery and I can save up and buy new toys! Looking forward to watching more videos! Keep up the good work!
The name of my channel kind of endeared me to my father as well. I'm an only child and he was an aircraft maintenance guy and he always encouraged me to use power tools and not be afraid of them. Thank you for your kind words!
Hi Becky I just ordered the weightless quilter. Cant wait for it to come in. I don’t have a long arm, so that will be pretty close and awesome. Happy quilting.
