    If a dealer didn't get back to me once, let alone two or three times, they certainly wouldn't get my business.

      Exactly how I felt at the time Roger, what if it had to go in for some work?

      Reading between the lines it sounds like Super Bike Factory. I enquired in person about an Enfield and was told the price non-negotiable as was the £199 admin fee.

    Congrats on the Kawa. Looks and handling are a great improvement on your old Tank and the roar from that "useable power" sounds good.
    Hope this will give you (both) many miles of pleasure... until it's time to change again!
    Meantime, stay well, take care and thx 4 sharing your "ordeal" with us.

      Yes I was shocked that the sound from a stock exhaust was OK. This bike was purchased with my head it just makes more sense than my GTR, If it had a shaft drive and an electric screen it would be fantastic.
      Thanks for the comment and ride safe

    • @millinutz
      @millinutz 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@youngeroldie5089 yeah, shaft drive is good, but elec screen and quick shift... really?
      But then again, i've never had 'em and we humans are creatures of habit, and at my age, i'm happy with my habits, so don't need 'em.
      All stock Kawas sound good when under load.

    Nice bike, Younger Oldie. You should always listen to the voices. I did, and at 71 I am barking!

    O no. Those voices that say change! Congratulations on the Versys. I owned a 2015 model. Lovely machine and ideal two up. There is plenty of low down, smooth grunt.

      It will take a bit of getting used to but there are more pluses then minus's. The weight being the main one, yes its not got the power of the GTR but enough power for everyday riding 2 up in comfort.

    I rode a GTR1400 a couple of months ago. It was an awesome bike.
    When I get fed up with a bike, I put it in the lock-up and bring another one out. It doesn't cost much for classic insurance, I prefer bikes from the 70's to the 90's.

      Hi Alistair that's a good point with classics as you mentioned insurance is not expensive. GTR is amazing bike but I just needed something lighter and more user friendly .Thanks for the comment ride safe.

      @youngeroldie5089 I get your point, I'm selling my 1990 FJ1200 , it's a heavy beast, but I don't ride it anymore. I bought it for my wife to be comfortable on, but due to her multiple sclerosis, she can no longer get on a motorcycle.

    As you mentioned yourself Rich, once that seed of thinking of changing your bike is planted your hooked. 😆The Versys has had some good revues and if you and the wife are happy that's it. I did pop over to Huggy;s today hoping to see the new bike but I was delayed re adjusting my chain on the Beemer, so may have missed you. 😊👍🏍

      Hi John, I was ready to go today but just got behind myself doing other things so never made it there today. Yes pleased with the Versys so far, couple of things I prefer on the GTR but there is no ideal bike that ticks all the boxes, we just have to tick as many as we can.

    Good choice! Got me thinking, like I said in the last video - the Versys was high on our shortlist. "Voices telling me to change, nagging me more than the wife" 😂😂 Oh dear - you really have got me thinking now but could I do without DCT now I've got into it? Does the SE have the electronic suspension?

    • @youngeroldie5089
      @youngeroldie5089  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    If these ignorant people/dealers cant be arsed to pick up the phone, if only to tell you to get lost then they are not worth your efforts and deservedly so they lose out on a sale.
    Now as for the Versys 1000cc I don't believe you can go wrong,Ive had 2 of them and my little blond piece, sometimes known as head of domestic appliances, or serving woman of the kitchen 😅 thinks its a brilliant bike and lickened it to the GS but without the price.
    Looking forward to more of your stuff

      Hi Mr Dee, I could not agree more and always wonder what their manager or boss would say about loosing the deal.
      Its good to know you both liked the Versys, its very different to what I am used to but so far no complaints, I am sure we will enjoy it. My lord and mistress or she who must be obeyed is having a spin on it tomorrow so hope all goes well.

    Hi good choice I tried the 1000cc out and beautiful bike obviously only had 10 mins on it as was a private sale I didn’t buy it because it was too high for me I’m only 5’10” with 27”inside leg and was just to high for me and my problems but wish you well and I know about once you get it in your head to change it keeps eating at you until you do 😂bye for now ride safe

    Hello bud, l had the same problem the GTR14 was just getting too heavy for my dodgy knees especially when two up, got a Z1000SX now much lighter. Are you tall because the Versys has a tall seat height which put me off trying one

    • @youngeroldie5089
      @youngeroldie5089  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Mark before I had the GTR I had the ZZR 1400 but after a long ride back from Belgium I felt my knees were on backwards, I did test ride a Z100 SX as they are a nice bike but yes I am 6 ft 2 my knees were in same position as the ZZR so opted for the GTR instead. Loved the bike but 2 years on it is getting heavy so decided on the Versys se instead. Early days yet but seems good so far, same engine as the SX but sure its de tuned.
