2:21 Join Surfaces welds selected object to other objects that it touches. If you do that and check whats inside the object through explorer, you will notice there's a "Weld" instance inside. I don't really know how to explain it, but welded objects are basically glued together. If you unanchor 2 welded objects and run the game then you will see they dont get seperated at all.
Thank you! I ended up searching it later on to double check, i didn't want to spread any misinformation so I was pretty open about not knowing! so I appreciate you correcting this!
I want to do stuff like this. But high school homework exists to demotivate Me neurologically, physically and mentally. Edit: (I'm a Freshman and the same goes to My other freshmen classmates. But I'm mostly gifted. But that doesn't stop me from learning in any format. *I hope anyone going through the same type of stuff I'm going though can recover for better times...* )
The TH-cam video on Roblox Studio, though initially promising in its title, regrettably descends into a disheartening labyrinth of muddled explanations and lackluster delivery, leaving the keen viewer adrift in a sea of unfulfilled potential.
Dude. I've been building for around 6 months now, and didn't know AT ALL about being able to cut into (negate) parts. Whenever in that situation, I would need to spend a good 5 minutes on blender. This helped me greatly!!
I personally wont make an F3X btools tutorial on its own, however I might give a rundown as to what plugins are useful and how preference matters in development, and to experiment with what works for you as a builder. Thank you for watching!
While negation events are definitely useful its important to keep in mind the unoptimized factor around them, if you plan on taking this into a real hobby or career in the future, its important to remember that Roblox will automatically Retopo the union, giving it a dense wireframe view, Games are made up on Polygons, and too many in a small area will cause lag on many devices! if you don't intend on learning Blender, you can at the very least have it as a tool to optimize unions or parts and connect them with an optimized workspace! Thank you for watching and I love you too bro!
wow, good video, u earned a sub! i have a question. when i acctidentaly click on the (for example,) baseplate, it teleports me far away from my building space, it makes my view to see the whole baseplate. and when i want to select multiple parts it just selects 1 part and teleports my camera to it. can u help? (also, how do u rotate parts so quickly, like in 13:14)
My studio crashed and it randomly enabled these weird settings like the ones u have in the video like the number on the part and the white line and at the bottom right when u do it is a gui like in the video and I just want it reverted back completely, how can I do this?
This feature is a new called Qol Dragger, i believe its automatically enabled - but if you want to disable it you can open beta features in the file tab and find it there, however keep in mind disabling it also disables edge snapping, making it harder to connect edges more flushly and effectively.
This is my first time seeing content related to roblox studio that is straight to the point, useful tips and with simple yet well edited, keep it up, you stand out for sure just a suggestion: for scaling and moving, use specific scales like 1 0.5 0.05 and 0.025 since they always complement each other, it's way easier to organize and there isn't that annoying part of snapping parts into each other
You should avoid using cylinders and balls when working with CSG, they always cause extra vertices and you can't control their resolution. Use negative objects more than regular objects when working with unions, doing that will decrease the amount of objects and vertices contained in the union. One thing that was suprising is to see the technique to cut corners perfectly with a negative object. Unions can do alot of things but can't really do certain things such as natural objects, i think voxels could be good for that. Im curious to see someone make something with the terrain editor other than, terrain.
Yes! optimization is a very big factor in Roblox development, Roblox engine is undeniably weak, (they are adding more optimization tools soon) however for now you are really reliant on either using low poly cylindrical shapes which are auto smooth shaded or even baking your high poly models into low poly normal! of course this is pretty awkward if you are only starting out! which is the point of this video! I don't intend on telling people they should never learn blender, or try to optimize their works. its definitely a stepping stone, and I'm here to help them get there! thank you for your insight and in-depth comment!
I know unions are much faster and easier to explain than using something like arc plugin, but you should mention at least that unions cause the most amount of harm to performance due to them being unoptimized.
It appears you missed a big portion of the video where i mention that Roblox unions have pretty bad topology! I'm pretty open about the fact unions are not a viable substitute for bool's in blender or whatnot, its always a better option to just use blender. however this video doesn't tell you to use unions! its just showing how to!
In most cases unions are detrimental to Roblox building, and I made sure to specify the fact that unions were not an optimized solution to creating Boolean substitutes in studio long term. This video is solely just a showcase and tutorial on each subject regarding Roblox studio and its tools, unions are a Roblox tool, yes?

Same, but the only thing stopping me is that my sleep schedule affects how I do in school, and if I could stay up all night scripting I would.

thank you so much, i really want to work on a project but my builds are restricting me, would definetely love to see more like this man.
This tutorial is great! Out of all of the things you can do on studio, building is one of the things i struggle with the most. Tysm for this!
please make a video about how to optimise a game, how to properly use Wireframe rendering and other topic related to how to make a game not laggy 🙏
really good vid ima sub dude quality.
That is some quality content! You should definitely continue these series
Literally the most useful video I’ve ever seen.
great video even i that has 1 year of expirience with roblox studio didnt know how to negate
