As a young teacher, I settled into a firm but fair style of teaching and it was incredible. My students worked hard, but moreover, they were HAPPY, not to mention how I felt! i have long believed we could revive American production using this as a business model and having the company employee-owned. American ingenuity has to be alive still and we could return to being a leader in solar, win, electric vehicle and other industries. (It's got to be the greedy cabal that's preventing this.) Your passion is wonderful to see. This is the very stuff of life.
Where the Platonic ideals come from. So many miss this silent joy.

Well, that was a homerun of inspiration, its easy to loose and hard to get at times. I wish their were a class in human nature in public schools.

    1. Generate & share ideas
    2. Listen without ego
    3. Audit: Choose the best idea(s)
    4. Give, and let other people give
    5. Defend, without over defending

The Middle Way is a valuable Buddhist concept. It is very practical and logical way to guide your life. Think of it this way: you are going to stand on a child's teeter totter. Where is the most stable place to stand atop the plank as you ride the vicissitudes of life?

So glad I found this site. Intelligent and very informative. My late husband used to say; Some people feel the Rain, others just get Wet". You have to listen as well as hear.

Overall great examples of your basic thesis, but I was expecting some more relevant examples to current situation of our de-evolving of our civilization. I like to think we are just going thru a transition, and hopefully we are as my own healing path and now practice are revealing along with many other light workers. How we come together in truth as a more kind and gentle ppls is the key. Definitely more positive reinforcement and active listening. BTW I had a great uncle who invented 02 therapy for the 1918 pandemic-Dr.William C. Stadie and became later a specialist studying insulin for diabetes, and those relatives on my mother's mother side had all come from Germany but way b-4 the Nazi problem.

All that being said abt the 57-58 pandemic, the story abt the construction of the Empire State building was remarkable and ur pts well taken basically abt the importance of positive reinforcement motivates pple to do better ( and children too and my field of study at the Master's level '74 but which started with courses in mid sixties in pursuit of teaching degree in family & consumer sciences aka home economics at the HS level). However, how was the $$$ raised since '29 crash had just occurred?
