  • In this video I ventured out to Clinton state park in Lawrence Kansas in January 2022 for some runs with the Rogue and SUV tent. All went well the first night (IT WAS COLD), but I had to cut the trip short for personal matters.
On trip two a few weeks later, I go over some of the concerns I came across with the tent attaching to the 21 Rogue and possibility of water entering the tent, etc. I also go over some addition's to the camp gear.
*If you want to skip to the tent attaching matter I encountered related to the Rogue, go to time marker 51:10.
Thank you for your visit, best to you and yours in the "Still" trying and challenging times our world is in.

Thanks for this video. Is there any concern about leaving the car trunk open for a 2-3 trip and the battery. No one ever talks about the fact that the tent attaches to the open trunk and it stays open.

I was thrilled to stumble upon this video because I just ordered this very tent to go on *my* Rouge when I SUV camp at a festival next month. Thanks for sharing! I have read on other videos that they used magnets to secure the sides.

Glad I could share _ Yeah, I'm using those thin magnetic strips on the outside of the tent material and affixing the to the side of the vehicle, works well. Thank you.

@@donnawhitehouse7630 Yes ma’am! I just used it this past week for a 5 night festival camping excursion! It performed wonderfully well! Set up was a breeze! It rained for two days straight and I never had any leaks! I did spray it before the trip with a can of the rain repellant from Walmart and it did the trick! I loved it. Loved the hanging carabiner in the middle to hand my tent light. It easily held a full size air mattress and four women’s clothing and make up bags for 6 days. I got an SUV air mattress off of Walmart.com and another woman I slept in the Rouge and the other two ladies slept on the air mattress. I’m so happy I went with this tent.

Thanks so much for posting this ! I also have a Rogue and am just about to buy an SUV tent. I've watched alot of videos tonight and I like this tent . I was just going to tell you that in another video they used magnets . The magnets actually came with the tent in the other video. I'm glad you were able to come up with a satisfying solution . I wouldnt have liked that gap either. Hope you and your wife and enjoying RV camping.

I have the same tent for my SUV. Magnets are a great help concerning any gaps you may incur. Plus they pack away really well. Also tucking the flaps inside work well too!

I crawled out of the woods Monday on a 3 day solo camp. I did one of these in a little less than 45 mins. I actually impressed myself!😂😂😂 If I can do it anyone can!😁

Great video, thanks !!! I'm researching SUV tents right now for the upcoming season ! How did this tent do in the rain and wind, any leaking ? Have you 'fine-tuned' your technique for setting the tent up solo, based on your camping experiences so far ?
    Again, thanks !!

Had some pretty knarly winds when I camped last with this tent, and it held up fine, just assure some window flaps are left open a bit to allow wind to pass thru, if you can. No leaks whatsoever in the rain thus-far, two trips. Yes, I have fine tuned setup by watching my videos and observating my shortrcomings, patience always helps as well.

I can't help but think that it would be easier to bring the tent to the vehicle rather than bringing the vehicle to the tent :)

I like the magnet idea. I noticed one sandbag was folded in half. If you can tie your sandbags together, will they hang over enough to cover the tent gap over those rear wheels?

It was a mind over matter for me sor sure. Wife doesn't camp like this, so up to me to go solo on these adventures and the task at hand. To me, sometimes feels like their going to break, but I just think, I I gots me some good ole duct tape > LOL.

@@livineachday2300 - then again, some thinking outside the box may even contact the company and request them to send/replace a couple poles due to breakage...they usually won't ask for proof...one can then have couple spares on hand jic a breakage does indeed happen...save that expensive duct tape for when absolutely needed...just sayin ; )

Sorry, but this was unwatchable for me. The loud rustling noises were extremely aggravating. Camera position was not good. Otherwise, a good video.
