Thank you to HelloFresh for sponsoring this video. On a recent work trip to Toronto, I thought it would be great to explore one of my favourite cities and tour some of the historical places. During the weekend, I had some free time to walk around the city and decided to get some brunch. And as luck would have it, I get to explore one of the historical landmarks and have brunch at the same time; and lough and behold, it's an unlimited brunch buffet.
This is the Old Mill just a short distance away from Toronto's downtown. The Old Mill is a part of Canadian Heritage, with the Old Mill Tea Room opening in 1914, serving as a gathering place for the community. Having been rebuild and restored from the ravages of time, it was not only an awe-striking experience to experience this history and architecture, but grateful as well to dine in the grand hall for a magnificent buffet brunch.
The staples that make up a great brunch were there in spades, Canadian salmon, roasts, and seafood. And brunch wouldn't be compete without the crepe station, mimosas, and that beloved chocolate fountain. A wonderful buffet and while I wasn't sure what to expect...assuming it's a standard buffet to draw in the tourist crowd, I was pleasantly surprise and the food, servers, and the atmosphere of everyone there exceeded my expectations. A very nice crowd and a wonderful experience.

Thanks John, I was pleasantly surprised as I thought it was just a regular Western buffet, and while it was kind of like that, it was quite a unique atmosphere and really good food too.

Great watching this one. I grew up pretty much down the street from the old mill. It was my subway stop...lol. my mom and I would picnic in the park there every Sunday in the summer.

Excellent video Tim! We've dined at the Old Mill several times and also attended a couple of wedding receptions - always good food and amazing surroundings. I kayak the Humber river right beside the Old Mill all the way into Lake Ontario.
Interestingly enough Michael, I got the chance to talk to a few diners there and a few of them mentioned they got married here.. I saw the water along the way to the old mill, that would make a great day...

Wow, it's SO beautiful inside 😍 that beet salad looked really good 🙂 I grew up on beets from my grandfather's garden.. the Eggs Benedict looks delightful too.. i never had Eggs Benedict before ... very neat inside beautifully decorated Mill from the 1800s 😊 ver historic

I have eaten at the Old Mil and at the various Mandarin buffets around the Greater Toronto Area often and you did both justice, While both are very different in type of food presented and exclusivity, both serve their purpose and you were able to capture their essence very well. Hi Tim! You should try a buffet called Wok of Fame, in Brampton ON. They have a huge variety of dishes, but their specialty is their wok cooked and teppanyaki dishes.

Hi Tim, your choice of food off a buffet is very similar to what I would choose. I always play that game, what would I put on my plate, when I watch your videos. 😂
Oh, that's quite interesting... It was nice that they were quite a few selections at the old mill.. I was concerned that it was a bit limited and a bit of a tourist trap.
The Eggs Benedict are a favorite of mine, yours looked tasty. Some nice asparagus would be good with the sauce. It all looked very nice.
Mine too Martha! These ones were done really well a really crispy base... Which doesn't happen all the time at most places.

Thanks Jade, yeah I was a bit tired as that was a work trip. Been burning the candle at both ends so to speak, but still very glad to be able to get to explore. It was a fun visit...but it actually gets way more tiring, at the end of the trip, my flight was delayed for about 6 hours.. (and I was one of the lucky ones as most other people's flights were canceled without notice)...but that 6 hours at the airport was not restful 😉

We have to admit we're ready to start ordering Hello Fresh:) looks like a yummy menu. But this Old Mill is fascinating. We agree, the Eggs Benedict is definitely a standout and that super tender roast beef. Thanks George! I think this is one of the more historical buildings I've been to. Helen gave me a description of the property and I think she mentioned that this used to be the grand hall... As with most places throughout the years, there was once a fire, but they rebuilt this using the original stones and materials as possible

@@TimLeeLetsGo I'm not sure how it is on your end when you play back your videos, but when the commercial plays, the commercial is louder than your video. Like if the commercial was a 10 in volume, your volume would be about a 6.5-7 from my cell phone. The commercial volume is perfect. Hope that helps. Great vids! 😊
I really enjoy your videos, but this one has a very distracting ticking noise while you are speaking. I normally listen at low volume, and I believe the noise is part of some background music you added. It spoils the otherwise relaxing nature of your videos.

I really didn't know what to expect, and thought it was a standard Western Hotel style buffet. It turned out quite nice.. the atmosphere was pretty impressive, and the food and the people were great.
With HelloFresh no more food wastes but more wastes in the landfill. Look at all that plastic packaging. SMH
Yeah, that's the one thing.. it is a bit of packaging.. most are non plastic, but unfortunately not for the small packets.

@@randyschwaggins ok. Unfortunately a lot of these places are owned by 33rd degree satanic freemasons. They love using the black and white checkerboard tiles in their restaurants as that's a symbol of freemasonry. If you meant you were a freemason member as long as you aren't a 33rd degree Mason it's fine because once you reach the 33d degree you have to do satanic rituals, sacrifice loved ones and shit.
