I haven't watched this yet, but you can be absolutely sure that I will. I just wanted to say that your reading vlogs have been such a comfort to me during this time. They really help me relax so much and are such a joy to watch! Thank you for making this wonderful content!
I swear to god I cannot tell you how much better my anxiety gets while and after watching a reading vlog. It‘s just SO soothing for me! Please please always keep doing them!
Please keep reading romance and documenting your journey! The only historical rom-com I’ve read is The Duchess Deal (I’m sure it’s already been recommended to you), but I really enjoyed it and will be reading more in that series! Romance takes up the bulk of my reading and I just love it, so it makes me so excited to see you getting pumped about it 😊
In the U.K. We r in lockdown/self isolation and I'm reading a lot and now I've ordered 3 books to be delivered because I haven't read scythe yet so I ordered that because you recommended it, clockwork angel because I still haven't read it and to all the boys I've loved before by Jenny Han. So excited but I'm reading the last wish by Andrzej Sapkowski
I've been reading the Shadowhunters series, and it's so good! I'm still on City of Bones, but I'm really excited to get the the infernal devices and the dark artifices (and chain of gold)!
Your apartment is so cute & cozy! And the view is great! Thanks for the tv recommendations also. I TOTALLY make a schedule for these home days. I’m adding in a home project (spring decluttering) and cleaning item, in addition to exercise, reading, tv and some games etc. for my day to feel productive and fun.
What a sweet boyfriend and thanks for sharing your isolation with us. Since we’re all stuck at home it’s nice to see how someone else is spending their time and your positivity brightens my day. Your food looks amazing (thank you for the recipes!) and your clips of Matilda are 🥰 You could put some books on top of your bookshelves...
Really happy to have stumbled across your videos! For steak, I rely on a meat thermometer, and I make steak all of the time! Pull off about 10 degrees shy of your target. For medium rare I pull off heat at 120-125 and as it rests it’ll reach perfect medium rare! You make me want to read books out of my comfort zone!
So glad your getting into historical romance!! It´s so much fun!!! I feel like you would really enjoy Julia Quinn and her Bridgerton series (soon to be a Netflix show!!!! OMG!!!!) also her Smythe-Smith Quartet. I would also recommend Tessa Dare and Sarah MacLean. Hope you find them to your liking!! PS: Bringing down the Duke was one of my fav books of last year, so excited for A Rogue of One's Own!!
i really loved the last weekend vlog where u went for a walk and freshened up the flowers and watched tv! it was really a sense of comfort and normalcy so that you for this one also!
I love historical romance and really I don't care who knows it lol. It has always been my "go to" when I just needed to escape. I used to live for Catherine Coulter's historical romance books. I read them all, some twice. There is also Julia Quinn who will have her Bridgerton books on a Netflix series (I don't know when). Lisa Kleypas has a Wallflower series that is also very fun to read. I think Dangerous Alliance was a cute read, and I loved that it was not trying to be a Jane Austen novel. Enjoy your quest into HR!
I love Clay dancing in the background in the intro! Lately, I live for your reading vlogs, they keep me so happy and entertained, thank you for always producing amazing content!
I've been loving your reading vlogs sm these past few weeks they are so comforting to watch ! thank you for providing us with this wholesome amazing content ❤️❤️❤️
The ultimate historical fiction rom-com? Emma by Jane Austen! The newly released movie adaptation on Amazon was just glorious as well! Read ittttt and watch itttt lol
Oh, my gosh. I've had dogs that run away from the vacuum or stare at it with wide eyes, but I've never seen a dog try to attack the vacuum. Brave little Matilda.
from the way you describe "bringing down the duke" i think you will LOVE "to have and to hoax" it's the same type of historical rom-com story and it's soo entertaining and there's lots of drama as well
It would be awesome to see a video of recommendations for rom com historical fiction books!! Sounds like a genre I could seriously get into!! Would love to hear your list of recommendations!! Your reaction to Bringing Down the Duke is exactly what I’m looking for right now. I’m on it!!
Yay another reading vlog! I love watching your vlogs and I usually am adding to my neverending TBR pile as a result. Speaking of historical fiction, might I recommend a couple of series that have magical elements? The Memoirs of Lady Trent by Marie Brennan is about a woman who goes on adventures to study Dragons and there's sketches included plus each of the books has colored ink! The Glamourist Histories by Mary Robinette Kowal is Jane Austen-inspired with magical elements! I'm really looking forward to reading Crescent City and I'd also like to read Royal Assassin this month and slowly continue on with the rest of the series. Happy reading!
You should check out Georgette Heyer. A British writer from the 1920s who wrote regency romances. They were definitely on the lighter more humorous side of things and she wrote a ton of them!
historical romcom: The Unexpected Duchess by Valerie Bowman --- I LOVED IT! I too am not really into pure historical romance, but this! The dialogs were hilarious. Plus it's the first in a series. 😉
Have you ever thought about getting some bookends and putting them on the top of your bookshelves to display a few more books? I know it won’t fit a lot of them but it’ll get a few off the ground
Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen is laugh out loud hilarious and IT IS SO GOOD. Highly recommend. So funny and the romance is A+, in true Jane Austen fashion.
Omg i've been thinking of picking up bringing down the duke for a while, but after seen your reaction to it, it's my next reading for sure. So excited!
Bringing Down the Duke sounds like such a good read, I'm going to have to order it ASAP. The light-hearted, endearing romance and the historical setting really reminds me of Mackenzi Lee's The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue (which I loved) - if you haven't read that yet, I'd highly recommend it!
Ahh I loved Bring Down the Duke, it's probably the best historical romance I've ever read! I read a lot of books in the genre, and one of my favorites is When A Scot Ties the Knot, I think it has the level of humor you're looking for :)
I named my kitty Loki, sometimes I call him my frost giant, sometimes I call him odens son, sometimes I call him my trickster 😂😂😂😂 He always looks annoyed though
Def check out Sarah MacLean, Lisa Kleypas, Tessa Dare, Maya Rodale, Lorraine Heath etc. welcome to historical romance - these books (and genre) are amazing!!!
I highly recommend reading Cindy Anstey’s books for more historical rom com feels. I’d read them in the order she wrote them and potentially skip the Christmas one.
For historical romance, I really love Lisa Kleypas novels like 'Again The Magic', 'Love in The Afternoon' & 'Hello Stranger'. Also, 'The Girl with The Make-Believe Husband' is my favorite by Julia Quinn her Bridgerton series is getting a series adaptation on Netflix.
Matilda is adorable. I have a black brindle staffy called Obi who is informally known as Obelina Obilesky 😂 and is commonly compared to a baked potato. Another vote here for you to check out Tessa Dare! Her “girl meets duke” series is a delight.
Loved this vlog! I'm literally the same as you when it comes to a plan/schedule for your day even if all you are doing is leisure activities. I work in retail so I am off of work right now and can't work from home so really at a loss for what to fill my days with! Love the idea of starting a new genre binge and I also don't usually read historical romance either so maybe this will be a good one to get lost in. ☺️
We had a pug, her name was Mercedes. She had SO many nicknames! We called her a loaf of bread, our little burrito friend, fat fat today, puga chan :) She even got promoted to Aunty Cedes when I gave birth to my son 🖤 Its coming up to 1 year since she traveled to the rainbow road and we still miss her so so much. Seeing Matlida makes me so happy and a little teary eyed but she is such a little cute cinnamon roll!
I leave the end of things for a long time too! If I really like something I don't want it to end, so I just leave the last few episodes, sometimes for years! Then it's not over, ever.
If you want a historical rom com you should definitely check out Tessa Dare! Her books are so funny. You can’t go wrong but The Duchess Deal is a good place to start.
How has no one mentioned Clay's 'background dancing!' - that is such a self isolation mood.
Clay is so wholesome. I love him so much.
I haven't watched this yet, but you can be absolutely sure that I will. I just wanted to say that your reading vlogs have been such a comfort to me during this time. They really help me relax so much and are such a joy to watch! Thank you for making this wonderful content!
Matilda is either a croissant or tortellini
Fortune cookie?
I swear to god I cannot tell you how much better my anxiety gets while and after watching a reading vlog. It‘s just SO soothing for me! Please please always keep doing them!
These longer vlogs are such a treat during quarantine💛

Romance takes up the bulk of my reading and I just love it, so it makes me so excited to see you getting pumped about it 😊
I’m here not only for the fun book reading but also for the food ideas lol seriously, so many good dinner ideas!!
I have 2 cats, I call my orange cat a meatloaf when he tucks in his little paws, and I call my black cat a burnt loaf when she gets in that position.
That is so precious OMG :")
I come for the book reviews and book talks and stay for the delicious recipes!

Self Isolation? More like something I did everyday even before the coronavirus. Aye.
we're just welcoming others into our normal routine aye 😂
I've been practicing social distancing for years
I've been reading the Shadowhunters series, and it's so good! I'm still on City of Bones, but I'm really excited to get the the infernal devices and the dark artifices (and chain of gold)!

Okay you've convinced me, I'm going to order Bringing Down the Duke!
Your reading vlogs are the only thing getting me through this isolation. Thank you.
I love your reading vlogs so much! They’re so entertaining and full of great books!
please keep posting!! I love your vlogs
Really happy to have stumbled across your videos!

“During these times, chocolate is definitely necessary...and my skin can just...deal!” Lol!
Amen. 😉 Love watching your vlogs! Keep safe everyone!
We call our cat a potato when she tucks her front paws under her. Matilda is so cute!!!!!

I call my husky “my little fox”. She’s red with ice blue eyes. So gorgeous❤️

This is exactly what I needed today! I genuinely look forward to watching your reading vlogs, they are a bright spot in some chaotic days.
I love Clay dancing in the background in the intro! Lately, I live for your reading vlogs, they keep me so happy and entertained, thank you for always producing amazing content!

The ultimate historical fiction rom-com? Emma by Jane Austen! The newly released movie adaptation on Amazon was just glorious as well! Read ittttt and watch itttt lol
I watch the new version of Emma and when I was reading Bringing the Duke Down. So good
I’m spending my time in quarantine just like you! I’ve been cooking/baking, reading, and watching Netflix. ☺️ Also I love your apartment!
Oh, my gosh. I've had dogs that run away from the vacuum or stare at it with wide eyes, but I've never seen a dog try to attack the vacuum. Brave little Matilda.
I love seeing what you cook in these vlogs. It's giving me ideas because I am RUNNING LOW lol
Clay running to the store only for essentials and also managing to find a new version of hot cheetos for Regan is so cute 😭
from the way you describe "bringing down the duke" i think you will LOVE "to have and to hoax" it's the same type of historical rom-com story and it's soo entertaining and there's lots of drama as well

Yes!!!! Bringing Down the Duke was my favourite read of 2019 ahh!!
That was fun to watch! Thanks! Keep up the great work!
You should check out Georgette Heyer. A British writer from the 1920s who wrote regency romances. They were definitely on the lighter more humorous side of things and she wrote a ton of them!
Btw I've been binge watching all your videos since January and now I'm all caught up...you're amazing! ❤️
Definitely check out Julia Quinn if you're craving more historical romance. She's so good with tension and witty dialogue between characters.
Thank you so much for making videos. They have been so much fun.
historical romcom: The Unexpected Duchess by Valerie Bowman --- I LOVED IT! I too am not really into pure historical romance, but this! The dialogs were hilarious. Plus it's the first in a series. 😉
I just finished bringing down the duke and i can confirm it is the perfect thing to read during self-isolation
The sleepy Matilda tail wag healed me and gave me clear skin
I love the vlogs. In these times I live for Matilda content!
Reading vlogs are my favorite!
Seeing you enjoying Bringing Down the Duke makes me want to read it too! I'm in need of some HEA romance.
Have you ever thought about getting some bookends and putting them on the top of your bookshelves to display a few more books? I know it won’t fit a lot of them but it’ll get a few off the ground
This was such a lovely video. Thank you. Just what I needed :)
So excited!
I loove your reading vlogs, this one made my day! Such great content ✨
You should put your extra books on top of the bookshelf. If they are Ikea shelves, they will hold quite a bit of books up there.
I just started the good place and I already finished season 1! It’s so good!!
Cinnamon suits Matilda so much. Loving your content, Reagan. Long time subscriber but I don’t comment much. I love your recommendations 💕💕
Ahh I loved Bring Down the Duke, it's probably the best historical romance I've ever read! I read a lot of books in the genre, and one of my favorites is When A Scot Ties the Knot, I think it has the level of humor you're looking for :)
This felt so relaxing - stay safe!
Your steak looked great! Also nice with a squeeze of lemon on top at the end :)
I LOVE the Her Royal Spyness series, and it is especially good on audiobook 😆
I literally call my pug the exact same thing! Loaf of bread, potato and a seal hahah too funny !! Sometimes even a hot cheeto
Love your vlogs! Can you tell me what your skin routine is and what you use?
Been loving your vlogs during this time! Also, I'm currently reading the last book in the farseer trilogy and it's SO GOOD. Stay safe and healthy
Austenland is really funny and although contemporary, it has all the cutesy vibe with geeking out about Jane Austen
Julia Quinn as well, I think Netflix is coming out with a series from The Bridgerton
I highly recommend reading Cindy Anstey’s books for more historical rom com feels. I’d read them in the order she wrote them and potentially skip the Christmas one.
For historical romance,
I really love Lisa Kleypas novels like 'Again The Magic', 'Love in The Afternoon' & 'Hello Stranger'.
Also, 'The Girl with The Make-Believe Husband' is my favorite by Julia Quinn her Bridgerton series is getting a series adaptation on Netflix.
Always excited to see one of your reading vlogs pop up in my subscription box 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Love your no-makeup look! I’m doing the same thing but I’m not pulling it off nearly as good 🤣🥰
Matilda is adorable. I have a black brindle staffy called Obi who is informally known as Obelina Obilesky 😂 and is commonly compared to a baked potato.
Another vote here for you to check out Tessa Dare! Her “girl meets duke” series is a delight.
Already hitting submit for
Bringing Down the Duke.....love the videos!

Dangerous alliance is really good. And a silly love story. Daughter of the pirate king and daughter of the siren queen. Made me laugh out loud.
You could put some of those books on the very top of your shelves. I'd stack them up there haha.
Regans vlogs are keeping sane during this social distansing lol
We had a pug, her name was Mercedes. She had SO many nicknames! We called her a loaf of bread, our little burrito friend, fat fat today, puga chan :) She even got promoted to Aunty Cedes when I gave birth to my son 🖤 Its coming up to 1 year since she traveled to the rainbow road and we still miss her so so much.

Royal Assassin looks really good!
Tiger King is next. level. Glad to see you're making the best of this strange time!
I leave the end of things for a long time too! If I really like something I don't want it to end, so I just leave the last few episodes, sometimes for years! Then it's not over, ever.
Kara Kask omg thinking about it that’s me too dang.. haha
My dog does the same thing. He hates the vacuum cleaner. 😂😂😂😂
Clay dancing should be the intro for every video!
My dog is the complete opposite when it comes to a vacuum. She runs away as soon as she hears it. 😂
I would recommend My Lady Jane and My Plain Jane if you haven't read them yet. Super quirky historical fiction with some romance. 💜
If you want a historical rom com you should definitely check out Tessa Dare! Her books are so funny. You can’t go wrong but The Duchess Deal is a good place to start.
