  • With Corvette Racing in its DNA, the all-new 2017 Corvette Grand Sport is a pure expression of the car’s motorsports-bred pedigree.
    Like the 2015 Le Mans-winning Corvette C7.R GTE Pro race car, the new Grand Sport combines a lightweight architecture, a track-honed aerodynamics package, Michelin tires and a naturally aspirated engine.
    The 2017 Corvette Grand Sport offers an estimated 1.05g in cornering capability - and up to 1.2g with the available Z07 package.
    Heritage-inspired design cues and exclusive features acknowledge the historic Grand Sport legacy, established in 1963 to take on the world’s best sports cars. Only five were built before a corporate decision suspending direct motorsports involvement ended the project.

    That's one very nice & hot Corvette. Always wanted one of those but things kept getting in the way. Love the 2nd generation Vettes.

    GM should have left these Grand Sports to the people who made them and let them race. These beat the Cobras.

    Is it true that the original 5 were built to 7/8 scale?

      wrong buddy, you got nothing to compare to say there haven’t been real GS since the first 5 , they are in a league of their own. Grand Sport was real at their beginning just as they are now!

    Do the original 377 aluminum engines have wet or dry sleeves?

    • @63grandsport11
      @63grandsport11 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wet sump engines.

    • @livewire2759
      @livewire2759 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think they were dry cylinder sleeves, but my memory isn't the best...

    • @livewire2759
      @livewire2759 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@63grandsport11 He meant the cylinder sleeves, if they were "wet" or "dry", the "dry" type being thin iron sleeves pressed into bores in the aluminum block and had no contact with coolant, or if they were "wet" sleeves that actually touched coolant and used o-rings or gaskets to seal them into the block.

    How do you know or how would you know? Just sounds like your stating opinion as fact. Were you on the the development team with these guys or something?

      Regardless, I doubt that Chevy would go to the trouble of inviting this guy & his G.S. to their new unveiling if it was a fake.
