Capture the Spirit Jacksonville - Disco (1978)

In 1978, the Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce rolled out a "Capture the Spirit" spirit and pride campaign at the city's 10th annual Consolidation Day luncheon. Two integral parts of the campaign were the logo, created by Joe Miklaus, and a theme song with lyrics penned by Kay Johnson and set to music by a professional music studio in Dallas. Three versions of the tune were released, a middle of the road instrumental, a country western tune, and this disco version.
The songs were played on the radio and used as part of the Gator Bowl festivities. Copies of the sheet music were distributed to local high school bands.
