Very lucky to have had the opportunity to eat there before the pandemic, the wine pairing is very reasonable and for what they offered it is a restaurant well deserved of their Michelin star. Food and service is top notched.
First off! Small world, I too tried ' exactly ' the same menu as you folks!! However, based on previous experiences, IMO, their quality has slipped......which is intriguing since one would expect Chef Patrick Kriss to kick things even up a notch upon receiving the Michelin Star! I totally agree with your assessment about their wine service and pairing choices. Sommelier C. Sealy, though talented, but his performance and attitude towards customers had become ' below par '....rigid and very often ignoring their opinion and wishes. In fact there's a heated debate going on in another food blog discussing exactly this issue! My personal preference is still the total package offered by FRILU

我都啱啱去食咗,同意appetizers 非常驚喜,main 比下去有少少失色,但係其實我覺得佢唔應該叫嗰道菜做main, 因為份量嚟講,同appetizers 差唔多。如果唔視嗰道菜做main, 計整體,我覺得alo 係值得去試。我也會返去(一年後啦,我等佢轉一轉Menu)。至於don alfonso, 我去過兩次,隔一年,menu 九成一樣,我第二次去沒有那麼多驚喜同埋食物水準下降左啲。
至於service, 感覺alo 比較令我哋覺得冇咁拘謹

May be a good idea to provide the varieties of the paired wines…if not the names.
If you asked them, they will give you exactly what you ate and what wine you were served. So yes i have the wine pairing list with me.

如果想搵好似香港或潮汕嘅風味,咁就一定冇。但呢度都有潮洲菜館啲師父們都能夠做到好味潮洲菜色,盡量將 "正宗" 口味帶比食客,我認為有得食已經好好。
