  • Every norwegian knows what you are talking about when you say the name "Samekniven". This one has been around for ages, and it's time to see how this grandpa holds up.
    For more knives and info on Strømeng, visit: nettbutikk.digitroll.no/knivsm... The site is unfortunately only in Norwegian, but use Google Translate and you should get around fine.

    Great review, my KS8 Old Fashioned will arrive on Tuesday. I'm also ordering a Helle Lappland by the end of next week. I own quite a few big knives amongst my 100 or so other knives. I have a good reason to always take one with me. I was hunting in -35C near the Canadian border and dislocated my knee in the middle of nowhere. Fortunately I was hunting with a friend and he got me out of there. I'm 60 now and I often hunt alone (I don't slow down for any reason) and a big knife can save your life under these circumstances. Great opening music by the way! Cheers, Steve

    thanks guys I received my KS8 Old Fashioned about a month ago and it's a great knife thanks for all the great reviews. I love the fact that you support the Traditional knife makers in your home country. You gave a lot of history in the reviwe, Just great cheers have a good day.

    I bought a piggyback set of those knives in Norway in 1989.
    One that size plus a 5" in a double scabbard.
    I haven't done as much with them as some people might but I certainly have put them through their paces in the years of own them.
    They've done perfect with everything I've ever thrown at them!
    They are great knives and I recommend them highly!

    Thank you for this video. I appreciate your frank comments on the knives you review. Based mostly upon your review here I purchased this knife. I was very pleased with the look and feel, it appears to be well made. Using it on small tasks around the house it performed well. I’m planning a more enthusiastic workout this weekend when I go into the forest to collect fat wood. Unfortunately much of our forest is closed due to the fire hazard so I will not be able to take it camping until late Summer or early Fall.

    off topic of this blade I know but I just unboxed my Mora bushcraft black and I have to say it's probably the best knife I ever put my hand on. It's about to get put through it's paces in the next hour. Haven't seen anything like this scandi grind before and i'm already in love, came laser sharp out of the box. Big salute out to Nordic month and to Snake and Freddy, have a dope holiday guys.

      Macho Deth Price, sharpness, and rust resistance are unbelieveable in the Moras. I think I have to try the Bushcraft soon too. Thank you for the good words Macho.

    Great video, love the Stromeng Leuku, mine is the 9" version-(I like my big knives to be at least 9" in blade length) I do need to sharpen mine-it came with a very dull edge-the bevels were uneven and had a burr, so a lot of work is needed to get it up to par. I prefer the Scandi edge, it cuts better than most of the edges typically found on American knives. You Stromeng looks beautiful with the patina of use and age - I love it! Thank you for a great video!

      MrRugercat45 Hi MrRugercat45. Yeah i love them aswell. Such natural looking knives and they "always" feel great in the hand.
      For chopping they are decent, but as cutters there are few if any better. Thanks for watching and commenting :)

    Usually Spring Steel that is used in Truck and Car Spring's and Leaf Spring's is usually the 5160 Carbon steel, I know this because my Traditional Khukuris I have are made fro Mercedes Springs in the Himalaya's and that's what Yangdu owner of BladeForum and also the owner of Himalayan Imports said, where I bought my Khukuris from but then again the Iron Ore in your part of the world is purer because it has less sulfer, but then Mercedes are made close to you, I had a experience with the 5160 carbon steel, one of my first chopper's was the O.K.C. Ranger RD-9, I was batoning a thick knarly pine log, the knots bent my knife alot, there were two of us batoning, I was holding the knife, and my friend batoned, I told my friend to continue, although it was bent alot, after we went through that knarly log, the knife straightened out straight, I still use that knife that I paired off with the Ranger Afghan same steel, since then I respect that steel more and I bought four more knives in that steel the Gen2 SP-47, 49, 51, and the SP-53 that for the money became one of my favorite, literally a Beast a true Sharp Hammer, so if the steel is like you say a car spring feathers, the steel most likely is close to the 5160.

      In the 80-90s they used 1095 high carbon blades from solingen Germany. I believe they swapped to norwegian brusletto blades the last 10-15years or something. Probably still 1095. Because they're still prone to snapping in half occasionally. 1095 can be durable with correct heat treatment. Only baton these knives with round wood to soften the impact.
      I would rather buy brusletto's version of the sami knife. My girlfriend has the strømmeng knife. It doesn't impress me. www.brusletto.no/no/produkter/kniver/villmann

    What I find interesting is that your knife weighs almost a 100g more than it does today. Or so it seems. Same goes for blade thickness, 0.8mm wider. Does this show that the old ones are better? I head they moved their blade production to Geilo instead of making their own as before?

  • @NeilTheKnifeGuy

    Im totally impressed with all these traditional knives. Pair any one of the traditional knives you guys have reviewed with a modern over built knife, and to me that would be a hell of a combination out in the bush.

    I enjoyed that video. I bought one of those Sami knives when I was in Norway back in 1997 as a visiting American Army Sergeant. I still have it, and use it exclusively for butchering. I don't see the purpose of using it for chopping wood; you guys make the best axes in the world; why ruin a knife to do an axe job? That knife is for reindeer/caribou!!! You can't carve a netting needle with it; or carve a spoon.... LOL!!! You're watching too much American TV. Anyway, love you guys; Strømeng makes some great knives. Be well, stay safe....... ;)

    The reason why I got the KS 5 and the Buhku STAK, is because a large knife will do alot of knife functions but there are times you just wish you had a smaller knife, for me a 3 1/2", blade a 5" blade and a 9" blade is perfect since I use to be a 3knife carry guy until I started to use my saw and hatchet, although my Rodent 7 is a very good chopper and because it also has a choil, I can choke up on it and very easily use it like a smaller knife my Rodent 7 is a 1/4" thickness and a Saber Vex Grind which geometrically is similar to a Scandi Grind because it had a relief edge just a little higher, very similar so I split with it like a hot knife through butter I have it very sharp and thin edge so that's why I convexed the edge to make it a little stronger, but not much and it's a full tang making it as strong as a tank. But I luv the Tradition that my new toy's represent. I better stop posting, but I'm excited, sorry

    I really enjoy Tac't I watch his videos all the time, and now your on the list, even though I didn't get my three knives over sea's I got them state side, but Thank You so much for your help, I'm not a wishie washie guy but I had a few questions concerning my order, first the Buhkku Stak on bold print said 5 inches, but the smaller spec print said 85 centimeters so I questioned that and I also asked if it came in carbon, he replied to that question, but then when I asked if the KS 5 came without a guard it does but I guess he doesnt carry it, he stopped texting me, I know $300.00+ isn't alot of money, but to me it is, and I wanted to iron out all my questions before the knives arrived and them I found that that's not what I wanted so I asked, it's not as if you just pick up the phone and talk, but regardless I didn't text more than 5 messages, and he stopped replying my text, and besides it cost $35.00 for a money transfer to Norway, so I wanted to make sure I got what I wanted. When he stopped replying my messages, I said the heck with that and found Ragweed Forge in New York U.S.A. and he orders Stromeng and all type of Scandinavian Kniv's, so I ordered the three Kniv's from Ragweed Forge and got a better price and I didn't have to pay for a money transfer, that's why I got three kniv's instead of the original two kniv's, sorry for doing a Dissertation I do get winded, but to answer your question, I am 66 years old, I should of said I'm plenty-one heh heh heh, but your right your only as old as you feel, so I'm 66 years young heh heh heh, nice to have met you, I did like the video you did on your Leuku, are you Norwegian, anyhow that doesn't matter, but what should I call you, are you also know as Snake Plisskin, by the way my name is Paul, but my friends calle'me Paul'ie, again nice to meet you, and Cheers M8. The 4x in my handle is not my size and not that size either heh heh heh it stands for a market I trade Forex = 4x it's also know as the Currency Market. I'll be watching your video's from now on, again Take Care.

    Bra videoer gutter. Jeg lurer på en ting: Hvis jeg skal velge i mellom Esee 6 plain edge, Buck 124 Frontiersman, Ka-Bar Mark 1 eller Samekniven. Hvilket hadde dere valgt som en allrounder? Og hvis svaret er Samekniven, hvilken størrelse?

    • @fireandsteel9790
      @fireandsteel9790  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Johnny Bråthen Hei Johnny. Personlig er ikke jeg noen fan av disse "fighting style" knivene som Buck Frontiersman og Ka-bar MK1 er.
      Vi har jo også testet Esee 6 og samekniven på vår kanal.
      Det spørs egentlig hva du vil ha og trenger. Stålet i disse 2 er ganske likt, de er begge gode å holde i samt gode å jobbe med. Så det kommer ned til hva DU vil ha Johnny. En tradisjonell robust norsk kniv eller en amerikansk robust kniv.
      Jeg synes KS9 fra strømeng er størrelsen man bør gå for om man vil ha en samekniv, men igjen er dette fordi jeg er en 2 systemers mann. Jeg vil ha 1 stor kniv og 1 liten. Så samekniven KS9 og KS3 feks hadde jo vært en fin kombo for min del. Esee har jo også da Junglas som er en stor 10 tommer som kan kombineres med en Esee 3 eller 4. Men igjen så er dette min preferanse. Om du vil ha 1 stk kniv så er Esee et kjempe godt valg i min mening :)
      Snake

      Takk for svar:) Esee 6 er bestilt. Med plain Edge uten serratering. Som liten kniv har jeg alltid med meg Leatherman MUT. Den har en ok liten kniv og en overraskende god liten sag. Og liker at den har hammer, i tillegg til en sterk tang.

    Say Heah Guy's, it's been a long time. I hope your doing good. Yeah, I still have my 3Knife Set of Stromeng's, the KS-9, KS-5, and my Bhuku STAK. I also have a copy of the Tapio Wirkkala Puukku my Cold Steel SISU in a San Mai 3 with a Linen Micarta Handle with Nickel Silver Bolster and Pommel. Yeah, it's a Beauty and holds as good of an edge retention as my O1's. Recently, I bought a Spyderco Puukku in the G-10 with a S35Vn blade. I plan to use it as my neck knife. It should go well with my Flexcut Carving Jack, a neat pocket carver to do spoons. But I also had a Custom Combo made by William Collins, it's becoming one of my Fav's. Because I helped in the design and he allowed me to name them, I named them my Paul'ies Pride and Paul'ies Delight. The Paul'ies Delight is the larger one. The Paul'ies Pride I will put it up against my BK-2, or any of my 5" size Survival Knives, I mean it, it's a great Bushcraft Survival Knife. Infact I posted them on my Google Plus, Your welcome to look and lemme know what you think, Ok. Dilly, Dilly (I stole the Dilly Dilly from a Budweiser commercial).,,.p

      @fireandsteel9790  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      paulie 4x Hi Paulie. Yeah but that is just a calculated guess or hearsay. Strømeng keeps their steel a secret. I have personally talked to them. But we know one thing, they used to make the steel of old truck springs back in the days. So 74NiCr2 is a close estimate i would say aswell. Snake

  • @paulie4x1
    @paulie4x1 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    A High Carbon Steel because .5% is considered high carbon the 74NiCr2 has .70 - .78% Carbon in my guest I'm at ion the AISI equivalent 1080 carbon but the Iron Ore up North up there is more pure because it has less suffer pretty good stuff regardless.

    Say Heah Snake, the weather broke and now we're into the mid-20°F range and next week we're having a heat wave it's going to break the 30°F mark heh heh heh, but do you remember when I told you I bought (3) Stromeng Kniv's, (2) Leuku's the KS. 9, and the KS. 5, and I also bought the Buhkku (LIL) STAK which is a beauty it has a much fancier Birch it might even be Curly Birch with Leather and Stag in it, anyhow I was able to compare another knife that I got not too long ago, I compared my Stak against my Rod Garcia Skookum Bush Tool very similar in size but the belly of the Skookum is more pronounced, both are almost similar in price my STAK was $185.00 + shipping, and the Skookum was $250.00 the STAK is Sandvik 12c27 Stainless Steel and the Skookum is made in 3V and it's a tich thicker too, but after I compared the two, I know for sure the Skookum is one of my favorites not that there's anything wrong with the STAK, it's just that the Skookum is a much more solid knife and the geometry of the blade makes it a carver, now I have (6) favorites my Busse Son of Badger is probably number ine, my Skookum Bush Tool and my John Bradley World's Finest Camp Knife is tied for number 2, my Cold Steel SISU my number 3, my Benchmade #162 Bushcrafter my number 4, my set of Gerber Freeman Hunter and Caper set in S30V my number 5, my STAK falls under my favorite Traditional Kniv and my G.E.K. Custom is in a special category the a friend/patient catogory, but between the Skookum and the Stak, if I could only choose one knife between the two, my Skookum I would pick hands down, there is something I read by Mors Kochanski he mentioned a knife should be like a sharp prybar, meaning it should be a strong knife and the pommel to hammer with, anyhow I just wanted to share the Stromeng are being put to work, and they better work good for their pay heh heh heh

Don't get me wrong the knives are very well done everything appears to be spot on, and very functional looking, but I think I'm going to put some linseed oil or maybe linseed and a dye maybe I better leave well alone, anyhow I just wanted to Thank You for getting me started to really buy my first Leuku, before these three knives, I only had a vintage Frost Mora Companion a couple stag handle Solingen Scandi Grind Knives and a Military Army Mora Knife with hand gaurds, and a Hoof Foot Handle Scandi Grind Nordic Knife it also might be Solengin, German Knife, and the only Pseudo Puukku Knife I have is the Cold Steel SISU it is a very Modern looking Puukkuu made out of the San Mai 3 Stainless Steel which is a laminated steel similar to the Fallkniven Knives except the core is VG-1 instead of VG-10, but one of my favorite knives I have about 7-8 of them in the four inch group like my Rod Garcia Skookum Bush Tool and the John Bradley World's Finest Camp Knife Blind Horse Bushcrafter and a Bushcrafter made by Benchmade #162 in a S30V, and a few more and I even have a G.E.K. Custom and my all time favorite my Busse Son of Badger the reason I like that one the best is because it's made out of the INFI Steel and it's 4 3/4 inch blade which for me and what I do in my bush playpen is the perfect size, one thing for certain the wood in my playpen is a hard wood, looking at these knives, I don't think they can take the abuse my Swamp Rat Knives take and they are made from its called the SR101 which is a 52100 Ballbearing Steel but Tempered by Busse Technology, so far my go to knives are my Swamp Rat Rodent 7 and my Rodent 4 later on today I received a tracking e-mail telling me my Rodent 6 is arriving later on today I had the blade thinned down at Swamp Rat and I had the top gaurd taken off now it looks like a beffy Ratmandu on steroids what a beautiful day four knives Eah ?, besides my knives I also carry a compact Wicked Tough Saw made by Wicked Tree Gear please check this folding saw on TH-cam I think you will be impressrd, and my hatchet I have the 2Hawk Double Bit Hatchet made by 2Hawks (a Nessmuk Design)it's a very compact hatchet but it's not a toy, and a multi tool the Leatherman Charge TTi, seems like alot of cutting tools, but in my area things can go south really fast so I trust my life on my tools, I almost forgot why I'm posting this post, before I got carried away, from the bottom of my heart I want to Thank You for pointing me in the right direction even though I found a local seller of these Nordic Scandinavian KNIV'S, you helped tremendously because I alway's wanted a Leuku, from the time I first seen a Leuku to the gift you gave Tac't I Thank You, becareful, be safe, and most of all be prepared.

      Hi Paulie. Wow thats alot of writing there man :) Glad you liked the knives. I have checked out the hompepages of busse and swamp rat and i really like their style of knives. They are costy but seems to be very high quality. The Rodent 9 looks very nice. You seem to collect alot of knives and have alot of knowledge of steel, we really like that :)
      Most important is that you enjoy the Samekniven knives for what they are. They are not extremely costy but they are really sturdy and beautiful for the price in my opinion.
      Thanks for taking your time to write your comments. Cool that you are this excited and interested in knives :)

    Say Heah Guy's, It's amazing how things work out. With my Karesuando Hatchet, I can add it to my Stromeng 3Knife Set, my KS-9, my KS-5, and my Bhuku STAK, or I can use it with my Karesuando Willow Grouse Knife in a Basic Trio by adding either my Wicked Tough Saw, or my Bacho Laplander. But yeah, my Stromeng KS-9 is a Awesome Leuku. I believe the steel on the Stromeng KS-9 is C100, similar to our 1095, but a more pure alloy. Dilly Dilly.,,.p

    I first became of the Lueku from a video by Sara Drwamung, I think you should of got a finger guard for Tac't the way he let loose on the knife it scared me, anyhow I personally wanted to Thank You, I just pulled the trigger on my KS 9, and because I like buying my knives in atleast sets of two, usually a large blade because there's just more realestate like for batoning in a emergency situation to get into the dry wood, I don't think a Rattail Tang is good to baton with especially for long term batoning but for an emergency situation the Lueku looks pretty tough, I also got the Buhkku which is similar to the KS 5, but with a fancier handle, and the 9 inch and 5 inch blade lenghts will be just perfect for what I do in the bush, I also just got my Wicked Tough Saw made by Wicked Tree Gear and a Trapper Nessmuk Double Bit Hatchet made by 2Hawks Devin Price is a artist the way he makes his Tomahawks and Hatchets, their a piece of art just like my new Lueku and the Buhkku, I'm so excited I'm also getting the Bob's Bow Saw, it's very compact and very easy to essamble, there are no wing nut's to loose actually the wood handle clamps down the blade and makes everything tight, but I can't complain about my compact tough folding saw, it's simply tit's, the best compact folding saw in my ooinion, I do like quality tool's, and I almost got the Bahco Laplander, but after more research no question in my mind I made the best choice, check it out for yourself and see its on TH-cam, we're preparing for a snow storm, but with my tool's I'll still go out for a hot cup of coffee on the open fire with no problem's I trust my tool's, I also use my awl and my multi tool has to have a small saw and a awl, but lately I've been using my Folding Jab Saw which works great for more delicate work like small trap's and even tent pegs I use it alot, heh heh heh sorry for my Dissertation O didn't mean to post such a long pist, good job though and Thanx., I wish I could get a gift heh heh heh

    It's me again heh heh heh, I was surfing again and found a video by Kop osso how he customized a O.K.C. Old Hickory Knife, it started me to think, I bet the Old Hickory was made copying the Leuku, it is very similar in design, at a fraction of the cost, but there is just something special about owning a Traditional Leuku I'm very happy with mine and I think alot about you for being the the man that got me to get mine, I'm ready for bed because it's late here in Ohio. U.S.A. but I just had to share my observation how comes something new from a old traditional knife like the Leuku to the 14" O.K.C. Old Hickory, when the people from your area came to this side of the big pond they brought their designs and perhaps the Old Hickory Butcher Knife was borne.

    Hiya Snake my Himalayan Import Khukuri is made from Mercedes Leaf Springs or like you say Spring Featgers,, Yangdu use to run BladeFirum either owned it I'm not sure in what capacity ? But her husband Bob made mine, he since died and he told me Leaf Springs were 5160 Carbon Steel, but then I read that 1095 and 74NiCr2 also could be used as Spring Steel, not only did that fella on TH-cam mentioned tge 74NiCr2 in his video as the steel, but I also Googled what carbon steel are Nordic Knives made out if, I know the smaller Stromeng Knives are 12c27 Stainless Steel it's the same steel that Mora uses in their stainless steel blades now that one I'm sure of, but anyhow tge ore in that part of the world is purer by having less suffer in the Ore that's why it's said their steel is better.

    Hi Snake, I just wish my.KS O and my KS 5 had brass cover on the front of the handle sort of like my Buhku (LIL) STAK, which is a beautiful knife beautiful fancier birch handle and it's so lite that neck carry you don't even notice the wight and it's very compact at 3 1/2" blade, that little bit of brass cover in the from makes it look better then having the wood being exposed, I know the STAK Is more expensive, anyhow I Bought My Stromeng Knives from Ragweed Forge for those American Friends he's in New York a great guy to talk to and he use to forge knives too but he handles all Nordic Knives and great prices I paid $129.00 for the KS 5 was $12915 which is a 5" blade but the small blades are in the Sandvik 12c27 Stainless Steel same steel as the stainless Mora Knives and some claim their just as good as the carbon, and yes you can strike with them as long as you have a 90° edge, the Buhku (LIL) STAK was $185.00 bit they are all Traditional made kniven, I enjoy just talking to Jim at Ragweed Forge and he has a great write - up about him in his website and he's very knowledgeable about knives, again Snake Thank You for pointing me in the right direction, I always wanted a Leuku Samikniven and that day later in the afternoon I received my Swamp Rat Rodent 6 which came from their Custom Shop where I had the blade thinned down and the top gaurd taken off and now it look's like a beefy Ratmandu on steriods it's just the way I hoped it came out, it's now my all time favorite 6" blade again Thanx Snake I didn't plan it like that but four knives in one day, it was like Christmas in February heh heh heh.

    All kidding aside, my special Thanx to Tactical for making it possible for me to get the Stromeng KS 9, I also bought a smaller 5 inch blade called the Buhku (LIL) something it only comes in a stainless steel and the stainless is 12c27 Sandia Steel, I wish it was carbon but Stromeng only uses carbon on knife of 7 inches and up that's sort of odd, because I'm so use to multi carry knives, my go to knife carry now is my Swamp Rat Rodent 7 and the Rodent 4, both have choils, and are very versital how I use them, I also carry a folding saw and a 2Hawks Double Bit Hatchet, it's a very small hatchet but it's not a toy and it chop's and splits great, I might try just carrying the Leuku as a one knife carry, but it just makes more sence to me to have the right tool for the right job, anyhow I'm researching everything on the Leuku knife, and the Sami People that I found out the Brass is Holy on the Leuku, and has Medicinal Properties, men use the larger knives were as the smaller knives are for women and children, I hope if I carry my Buhku that is used more for children it will keep me younger heh heh heh I enjoyed your video alot and Thank You good job.

    Cheers Snake, if you have a chance check out the Wicked Tough Saw made by Wicked Tree Gear, that saw has video's on TH-cam I think you will be impressed, the handle on it has a life time guarantee and it work's brilliantly, infact I almost got the Bahco Laplander since I have the Silky BigBoy 2000 and the Wooden Handle Fiskar's with the Power Teeth Blade and the 10 inch Carona but I don't trust the handle in it that much, but as far as sawing, it's great, but my new toy is the 2Hawk Double Bit Hatchet it almost looks too small almost like a boy's hatchet, but it's not the one side chop's the other side splits, it was copied from the Nessmuk Book by George Washington Sear's, great bushcraft book, anyhow it's becoming my go to tool, and I do have the Gransfors Bruks Small Forest Axe and I even had a hatchet customized for me, I had a Iltis Oxhead Head 2 3/4lbs hanged on a 19 inch White Hickory Handle, it's has a 5 inch face and very thin, but the weight makes up for it splitting, it bits deep but once you get use to it it literally saves energy because you don't have to hack that axe to get the job done, I also have a Mini Norlund Hatchet as far as I'm concerned Norlund Ax is the Cadillac of American made Ax, and I also have three Estwing's in three different sizes the smaller one has a leather handle but the rest is steel very durable and I don't worry to baton on them not the sharpest tool in the shed, but almost indestructible and that's why I have them, for the price it's my favorite, Tac't also has a video on a Estwing, as far as my knoves, I luv choil's it's like two knives sizes in one, even on my Rodent 7 I can choke up on it and use it as a smaller knife, the best thing about it it's how Busse Temper their Steel, even though it's made by Swamp Rat, it's still Busse kin since Swamp Rat and Scrap Yard Dog are sister companies, Busse being the top dog with their INFI Steel, both Swamp Rat and Scrap Yard Dog use the SR101 Steel it's a Deferentially Tempered Ballbearing Steel it's the 52100 similar to the 5160 but with more carbon so it holds a great edge but the way they temper it you can chop on metal and still cut paper same with the INFI Steel but the INFI is corrosion resistant like stainless steel but better, the only difference between S.R. and S.Y.D. is the handles, the S.R. are canvas, G-10 etc. and its a slab so you can see the full tang where the S.Y.D has a similar to Kraton and even though they are full tang, their more like the Fallkniven handles, some like that better because it's warner and don't slip when bloody etc. I like the G-10 better, on my knives I also like the Saber Vex Grind the relief edge splits wood much better than a Full Grind because the wood splits at the spine so there's more wood drag, same with the Scandi Grind it has a lower relief edge and Scandi Grind's do split wood good too, but the Zero Grind is very thin that's why I convex them too, to make them a little tougher not too chip or roll depending on the steel, enough, I told you I was winded, but I luv my hobby, and research is part of it, so yeah I'm a little of a steel snob but I think sharing info helps our bushcraft society, atleast I enjoy learning, seriously look into these tool I use, I'm not a know it all and I don't work for anyone so spam on TH-cam, I do it as a hobby only, and I enjoy sharing, these tool's I use are compared to a few other manufacturers and through my own experience I find them to work great, no sales pitch, just a suggestion, be good Snake, and continue helping us, I found that to be true with you when you replied my question to Tac't video. again Thank You very much.

    One suggestion for you since you were so good to me if you take the spine on a belt sander, but be very careful do it very lightly and square off a 90° spine on your Leuku it will make sparks, pick an area because the way it is now it's very hand friendly, but once you square it off 90° it will scrap much, much better so you can actually use the spine instead of the edge on alot of thing's you do to wood like bark removal etc., and strike big sparks but it won't be as hand friendly you have to rob Peter to pay Paul so think about which area you want to do that to and please do it very softly not alot of pressure at all you don't want to over heat it and all you need is to square it a littke, A LITTLE !!! Heh heh heh

    Say Heah Freddy and Friend, I just got some new toys the Ka-Bar Johnson Adventure Potbelly and the Parangatang it's like Christmas in August heh heh heh, I also got some sheath's for my knives that didn't come with sheaths, my older Blind Horse Bushcrafter after I had the handle thinned down and polished it seemed the sheat it came with was a beautiful leather dangler but it was dangerously lose and I almost cut myself with it a couple of times so I got a new thinner sheath that fits it alot better but no dangler but it has a fire loop and a square bottom, I made it into a neck carry. I originally bought a Small Spec-Ops sheath for my BK-2 because the Kydex sheath for it was so tight it hurt my wrist everytime I pulled it out of the sheath, and I'm not a whimp ha ha. Anyhow Becker came out with a BK-22 that's just like the BK-2 but a Flat Grind and a nylon sheath with a pouch so I got the sheath for my BK-2 and it fit's like a glive, then my Small Spec-Ops Sheath I tried my Modde Rodent 6 and it fit's like a glove, the reason I'm mentioning this is so for guys that might not know what sheath's to get for their knives, then my Bokor Black Vox Rold Sheath came out so big it too was dangerously lose and the knife just flopped out, we'll I had that taken care if, Jan at Bokor is super lady that helped me alot (Bokor in the U.S.A.), so I got some sheath's and two great knives I bought mine at Basically Knives at a great price and Ed helped alot too. How is your summer, and did you get any new knives, always nice to see one of your videos.

      I think thats wrong.Marttiini knives are according to their website 90 years.
      While Strømeng started making knives in Karasjok in the late seventeen hundreds.
      And the sami knife has a much longer history than that.Probably derived from viking seaxes and väkipuukkos of finland.

    Say Heah Snake, last month and this month so far have been a great month in a hobby I really enjou, and that's getting tool's for my bush outings, today I just was informed I won a drawing on the algibility to be able to get a Busse Nuclear Meltdown Fussion Steel Heart also known as a N.M.F.S.H. anyhow I never had any intentions of making two different company sets of knives, well Swamp Rat is a Sister Company of Busse Combat Knives one uses the INFI Steel the other one uses the SR101 Steel, today Busse sent the e-mail, it all started with my Swamp Rat Ratmandu and it built from there, I have the Busse A.M.S. LE, the Son of Badger, a INFI Ratmandu Sarge 7, my newest acquisition today my N.M.F.S.H. and my A.S.H.B.M. LE, when I got my Ratmandu I then got my Rodent 9, then the Rodent Solution, then the Rodent 7 and Rodent 4 which I had thinned down, then last week I got my Custom Rodent 6 I had it thinned down and also had the top gaurd taken off and now it look's like a beefy Ratmandu on steriods, and before that I also got the Rodent Rucki, to my suprise both my Busse and my Swamp Rat's are very similar in size not that I'm complaining but it just happened like that, I couldn't if done it this way if I tried, but the Good Lord up above really shined His Light down on me, wouldn't you say ?, especially with my Busse Set, they really sell out fast, I feel like I'm floating on a blue cloud, because pink could are for girls heh heh heh, and I also have my Leuku that I always wanted, then I found out the KS. 5, and my Buhku STAK were made out of the Sandvik 12c27 Stainless Steel I always get carbon blades, but when I found out that the Mora Stainless Steel is made from the Sandvik 12c27 Stainless Steel and that alot of people say they feel it's just as good as the carbon blade, that made me very happy because I do see and read this in Forums and on TH-cam, I just wanted to share this good news with someone, and Thanx again for getting me started in a good direction on getting my Leulu's, Thanx Bro, or like Tactical said Thanx Playboy heh heh heh I do luv my

    It's a tourist knife. Bad handle and worthless leather sheath without wood, bone or plastic insert to protect the sheath. 35$ Tourist knifes for Nepal has much higher quality for your money.
    I'll use American made, swedish or Finnish knives before this one. The blade is the only part with any value. These knives can even fall out of the sheath. I know several people who lost them that way. Sheath insert is supposed to hold the knives securely in the sheath, just like Nepalese build their kukri sheaths. Finnish sami knives at least has plastic insert and higher quality wood handle. Kids can make better knives in school.
