I've got x 2 CV squiers. A 52 telecaster and 70's Jaguar. I find the Telecaster with its 9 strings smoother and the Jag with 10 strings a different beast. It's a bit fiddly with its over complicated switches, and the high E is hard to set up. New strings suffer from buzz and rattle until they set in and it doesn't hold its tune as well as the Telecaster but once you've got used to it man on man have you got a beautiful looking and versatile guitar, and I'm still getting used to the variety of sounds its capable of. The rhythm switch is dark and incredible. Personally I prefer the Telecaster but I recommend a 70's CV Jaguar. It's certainly got the wow look factor for Sunday afternoon jam sessions at the local pub. My second hand Jaguar cost £299, a lot of guitar for you money.
Leo Fender actually redesigned both Jaguar and Jazzmasters shortly after their release, due to the complaints from various players regarding issues with the circuit system. That is why Fender offers both Jazzmaster and Jaguar (even the Mustang) without the "classic buttons".
My favorite part of the Jaguar is the versatility. Not too long ago I got the Classic Player with 2 humbuckers and is like having 3 guitars in one with the options in sound and tone.
Very nice ,love the colour .I'm totally hooked on Jaguars now after buying a 2011 Fender Blacktop Jaguar 90 in Candy Apple red .It's simplicity itself with no vibrato or flashy electronics ,just a hard tail tune-o-matic bridge and two p90s that sound amazing .My next buy will either be one of these or a Fender Blacktop HH .If anyone is unfamiliar with the Blacktop series Fender made them in Mexico between 2010 and 2013 with dif pick ups so you could get a Tele .Jag or a Strat with 2 Humbuckers a Jazzmaster or Jaguar with p90s etc A great series and because theyre all over 10 yrs old they're very affordable .How much does yours weigh btw ?{my Fender is a bit heavy @8lb 9oz }
dont fear the reaper sounded awesome man! Great guitar. I own 3 Squiers and Gibsons, Fenders, etc. I find myself grabbing the Squiers alot. I modded a couple things, but so good as is the fair pricing. Cheers Brother!
Thomann! It was called Factory Special Run, I'm not sure if it's still available. It's the same as other CV Jags, but I have to agree that this headstock is sick :)
I have this guitar and i love everything about it except for one thing. I've tried so hard to set it up the right way, but for some reason I just get nasty buzzing on all strings from the 9th fret. Was that a case for you too? I can't seem to get rid of it. Btw. That was a really cool improvisation in the beginning.
Have any of you shimmed the neck like so many who claim it's necessary? I got mine and even bought some shims when I ordered it, but when it arrived, I honestly didn't think it seemed necessary. I never did it. Honestly loved how it plays just as it came.
I was thinking about it, but I never did it. My jag is completely fine without the shim and I really enjoy using it on a daily basis. So I might do it in the future as an experiment but I don't think it's a priority in most cases :)
I used a 1° shim from StewMac but removed it, the guitar lacks sustain with the shim and also forces the bridge to be ridiculously high, resonates better the guitar without the shim
I've made my final acquisition this past June for my birthday: 24th like my hero Jeff Beck. A Squier 40th Gold Anniversary Jazzmaster ........ I'm Done Now!!! 😁
IMO an hs Jaguar is the swiss army knife of guitars. You can literally Play anything on it and it fits the tone and the look of the style of music you are playing

God I love that matching headstock. I wish the current vintage vibe had them. Especially the 70s one with block inlays in black. Like yours.

As a strat player I don’t find the Jaguar pickups very bright. They definitely handle distortion better.
They’re very bright in clean through a twin. Brighter than a strat

Where did you get this color variation? The black headstock looks killer!

Buy it and fall in love with it? I'm already in love with it.
just ordered one of these. excited
Because it's so cool. Surfers, alt rockers and shoegazers can't live without one.
hey, great review, What are the songs that you played at 2:58 and 4:30?
First one is "Don't fear the Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult.
Does anyone know any known music in the style of the music at the beginning of the video?

Try shimming the neck back about 0.75° and then raising the bridge and pickups a little bit. Both Jaguars and Jazzmasters set up better that way.

I have this exact model and it doesn’t need a shim on mine. The bridge posts measure around 5mm from the body of guitar to underside of bridge plate.
I used a 1° shim from StewMac but removed it, the guitar lacks sustain with the shim and also forces the bridge to be ridiculously high, resonates better the guitar without the shim
Yeah, I shimmed mine 1° but it’s too much. Somewhere around 0.75° is probably the way to go.
great review. i think the Jaguar and the black Jaguar is the coolest guitar. Thank you
it’s worth noting that Leo Fender considered the Jaguar his top of the line
I've made my final acquisition this past June for my birthday: 24th like my hero Jeff Beck. A Squier 40th Gold Anniversary Jazzmaster ........ I'm Done Now!!! 😁
I've lost count of how many guitars I have purchsed since proclaiming I was done! LOL
Right.....
because they look cool as , love mine

You only need one reason! cause they're cool as fudge 🤘
100% true! Love your vids mate :)
@@bestguitarsnow awesome thank you 👌🎸
Reason 6: Nirvana riffs
Mustang for that
@@chrissouthall411Kurt seemed to use both guitars, mustang, jaguar and maybe even Jazzmasters (considering Kurt loved Dinosaur Jr).
Love it and great colour 🖤🖤🖤
Reason 7: John Frusciante riffs
Even though it is true, you would need a DiMarzio DP100 Super Distortion pickup.
what is the song in the beginning?
It's not a song, I was just jamming :)
What a fantastic video have a wonderful day also Saturday was Canada day
They won't ship that Squier to the US. 😕
Damn, that sucks! :(
I thought I was going crazy not being able to find the black one
Pink Shell it is
@@johnhennessey5 Charcoal Frost Metallic was limited to 500 copies only available in Europe. Cheers!
Neat guitars
It's a Jaaaaaag!
Cool video! I have the same guitar and published a review on my channel. They’re great!
Мне всегда нравилось как звучат страты и подобные гитары, но после ибанеза играть на них как то не комфортно.
A guitar review needs an example of what it sounds like clean with no effects. After that examples with effects.
It's not an in-depth review, it's just a couple of reasons why I love that guitar :)
I'm shopping around for one rn. The one I'm looking at now is sonic blue with the block inlays 🤌
Now thats dope.
