This is so cool to see! I thought all gold belonged to the Norwegian crown no matter who owns the property, but I know people that have gotten permission to pan small amounts of gold around Norway.

Can I just say I think maybe your sluice is angled to low it should be 5 to 7 degrees in angle. The gold in Sørkedalen is very fine/dust and I think you are loosing it the angle of the sluice is very important. Also I would just take your gold pan and prospect find an area with traces then take your sluice so you are not wasting your time/energy. But good job and good luck hunting.

I have recently asked Oslo kommune for permission to do this in Sørkedalen. They said it was absolutely forbidden and anybody caught doing so could face a fine of up to 200.000nok and in my case deportation. In fact anything of this kind in the whole of the MARKA area of Oslo and surrounding kommunes connected to MARKA is forbidden to touch the rivers. They claimed it was to protect the fresh water Blåshell. I never saw one when I was there so they might be a bit late protecting them... hehe. All I am saying is thanks for sharing video but be careful make sure you have your permissions. I can send you a copy of the mail the kommune sent to me if you like. Or just contact kommune they will update you.

we are very strict with our foreigners... =) but since your a fellow mineral lover perhaps, it might be a tip, of you ask local ground owners instead of the state,, if you can have permission. and yea, i think his sluice angle might be off and,, the amount of water that was flowing into it was just too much,, would have blown away even a 2 gram gold nugget easy. :)
