Gotta luv Jeff Coffin's solo. I've been lucky enough to see him with Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Dave Matthews Band, and then as a guest at a Bela Fleck and the Flecktones concert after he left the band. That was at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.

I love the rhythm of that repeating bass line, where Sput takes his solo. I'd like to see that written out in 4/4. It seems like a fun figure to solo over. Sput makes it sound fun anyway.

I assume you mean the audience. Nashville audiences are pretty savvy so u never know.

I do. I was a huge flecktone fan back in the day. I went to the live recording at the quick when I was a kid

Jonathan Scott No way! Well you must still be pretty young then. I love that concert. Paul McCandless on soprano sax and English horn, and the guy on bassoon, and the guy on steel drums. Not to mention the guy from Calcutta, India sitting down playing the tabla and the East Asian throat singer. I'm a bit older so I got to see Bela and the Flecktones in Tuscaloosa, AL when they still had Howard Levy. I also saw them when they were a 3-piece in Huntsville, AL, then finally I got to see them again with Howard Levy a couple of years ago in Nashville. They brought out Jeff Coffin to play on Sinister Minister and maybe one more. It was great. I got to meet Futureman at 3rd & Lindsley, the venue from this video, after watching a Dennis Chambers drum clinic. Little guy. I just happened to be wearing the Flecktones t-shirt from the show the year before. Nice guy.

Prefer Larnell Lewis on the drums - what a beast on the CD/DVD recording!!

I know this comment is 5 years old, but I do also want to say that this performance was before the We Like It Here recording - the song was still very new, hence why this version is a bit sloppy and slower.
If you listen to later versions with Sput they are way better.

I can't fault anyone for saying Larnell is their favorite Snarky drummer, but Sput will forever be my favorite. He is the GOAT!
