I just got a Honda Elite 80, and seeing you drive around Houston by i10 makes me feel a little more confident to ride around in the city in my area (Museum District/Montrose). Crazy seeing you ride the feeders all the way into downtown! Thanks for the scooter videos!
Just fill it when it hits 100 mile increments. That’s what I used to do with a few bikes, including the C3. The C3 with a 1 ish gallon tank getting 100 mpg. Keeps the pump in enough fuel to still cool it. Hope that helps.

I only recently got interested in driving/ riding, so I finally bought a Honda Ruckus and got a permit. I live in an area that has a speed limit of 25 mph, but everyone here does 30 to 35 mph. Since this is all new to me, I was scared tbh because I got honked at and tailgated a few times, then I got the message. I thought that was bad, but people going 75 mph on the access road is a lot more sketchy.
The aggression here in Eastern, NE could if not just match probably beat houston. accidents all over the place daily. makes me wonder if I should actually get back into riding again.

3:38 I thought OEM tires on the C3 were 120/90-10, but they're even harder to find. If 120/70-10 is the tire size you want, Michelin makes the City Grip 2 in that size for about $90 each. (Feeling a little Deja Vu yet? LOL) Another option would be the Mitas MC20 Monsoon for about $70 each. BTW, if you do find that you do need the 120/90-10 tires, then the high-end is the Bridgestone Battlax SC1 at $100 each and the frugal-end is the Shinko SR 425 at $48 each. There are other tires out there in both sizes, these are just currently in-stock at that big online m/c accessory vendor in the U.S.

I've purchased the RE handle bar relocators (not the risers) but the cables seem too taught. I noticed on one of your videos, you too have installed risers but cannot see the install of them. Howdy, Paul! The risers that I installed were relatively short, but their fit and finish wasn't very good ( amzn.to/3Y38Elq ). They increased handlebar height by 30mm (1.18 inches) and rearward by 20mm (0.79 inches). The adjustment didn't affect my cable length too much, but I did reroute my clutch cable to give a bit more slack. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

i'm having trouble getting the base plate for my top box on my silverwing. nothing wrong with the bike or the plate. its me i can't make myself drill the holes i need to mount it. i am scared of messing up a part that will be hard to replace.

Also, I love this little C3 scoot. The black and silver look good together. My Roughhouse is black and titanium. I'm surprised that 4 stoke willl go that fast. Is the Dr. Pulley an over range variator? My Roughhouse 50cc also had a factory variator and exhaust port restriction. But yea, when the belt gets worn it gets thinner and it won't ride as high on the front drive pulley which will take a few MPH off the top soeed vs when its new. What size and weight rollers are you using? 47 is a really high too speed for a four stoke 50. I'm sure fuel injection helps. Mine is carbureted. I think the two strokes accelerate faste. I'm going to order a Yaszuni Z pipe next month. The right expansion pipe helps them a bit more than the 4 strokes because they're tuned to pulse which essentially helps the venturi affect of sucking he atomized mixture though the engine faster. Watching your video from yesterday i was shocked at how expensive the fuel system parts for that Yamaha were. That's narly bro. 😂
Yes, the Dr.Pulley variator is an "over range" unit that pushes the belt higher in the front pulley. I can't remember the exact weight sliders I have in there, but I think they are 11g. It's a fun little scoot, but it's outmatched by Houston's crazy-fast traffic! 😉👍 --QM

Speaking of riding dirty now, I have to preference this where it absolutely all happened in Mexico. But it was a time when I lost my rear license plate for my Honda super cub and I was super busy at work so I didn’t replace it for a good solid two months and I still wrote it every single day everywhere and I drove by cops and everything and nobody gave a single shit That I didn’t have a rear license plate so it turned out what I had to do was I had to put like a metal frame basically around my license plate to hold it in place because just the two top bolts wasn’t enough and the license plate broke off. That’s how that worked so for a bit I was riding dirty, but the bike was legal and every other conceivable aspect and I did have a license so I was like screw it. I’m not gonna let something like that’s not me from riding my cub around.
I had the Maxxis M6029's stock my Roughhouse and I changed them as soon as possible to City grips 2's! 🤣🤣🤣 I have a 12 inch wheel though. Damn shame ya can't them for a 10" wheel. These are 120/70/12's and the reason is a 130/70/12 The stock tires had hardly any tread depth and felt like bananas 🍌 on a wet road. Gravel not great either. No Bueno. But the stock tires are $35 each and the city grips are $100 and $110 but worth every pemny imo. I'm looking at a Malossi rear shock too. The stock one has a fake nitrogen cylinder and it essentially nothing but a glorified spring. My ass is the shock. 🤣
Hey brother, do you have access to non ethanol fuel in your area? I would definitely look into that especially for the small bore stuff and anything with a carb. Personally I wouldn't use anything else in a motorcycle to keep the corn syrup out of the fuel system. Either way, non ethanol won't rust the tank. Just make sure the station uses a separate hose, or at least run the first gallon or two Into another vehicle or container because obviously if they aren't separate hoses, you'll have whatever the last guy used in the system until it clears.
Man, I miss the pre-ethanol days. I could store my bikes for months or even years without worrying about corrosion. Just needed a bit of fuel stabilizer or a shot of carburetor cleaner when I decided to run them again. Unfortunately, there are only 2 or 3 fuel stations in the Houston area with E0. It's not feasible for me to ride to/from those spots for every fill-up. I've considered getting a 15-gallon tank to keep at home for the occasional fill-ups when a bike is parked for a while. 🤔 --QM

Hi Quasi. I'm confused ,You go to a tax office to get your motorcycle insurance? what the hell!!!?? Why, that makes no sense? The first time you mentioned that I didn't think I heard you right because that's just bizarre!! Here in Canada you go to the motor vehicle branch for licensing and stuff like that!!! I'm not sure about getting a vehicle inspected because I've never done that. As far as I know that's all done at the motor vehicle branch if it's just basic stuff like motorbike certification unless you're putting something back on the road that's a rebuild. As for automotive , motorcycle. Trailers and so on. That's all done at any one of the 1000 insurance agencies. Most car dealerships will have someone come there. If you're buying a new vehicle. You don't have to go anywhere. They come to you so you can drive it off the lot. That's what I did when I just got my last vehicle. I had to take out a new policy because they didn't have my car plates too transfer over. Then I went into an insurance place canceled the new policy and transfer my plates over.! If you were getting your license then you would probably pull your hair out because it sounds like your tax place for your bike insurance!! Oh well I guess you learn something new every day about somewhere else!! As for the next bike. I think that Ducati sounds interesting but there's an easy way to figure which bike to do next! When you said about losing the parts box. I figured the easiest way to do it as whatever bike you have the most parts for already!! You could always just surprise us and do whichever one you feel like!! John
No, we have 3 steps to insuring and registering vehicles in Texas. First, you need current proof of insurance. Second, we take the vehicle to an authorized inspection station where they verify basic safety stuff (lights, signals, tires, horn, etc) and note the proof of insurance. Third (last), we go to the county tax office to pay for the vehicle registration, where they verify the insurance and inspection status... then issue the registration. The inspection for motorcycles is $7/yr, and the registration is $55/yr. 😉👍 --QM
There is a method for gauging fuel level that long predates elaborate electrical measurements. It is called a dipstick. If you need an explanation of how a dipstick works then you are one. Buy a pint can of small engine fuel at Walmart to carry with you and you can simply wait to run out of fuel to know how many metric units of distance you can cover on a fill-up. As long as you have the sealed can with you you will have fifty miles of emergency reserve.

The C3 doesn't have a low fuel warning light, so there are no second chances unless you're carrying a spare fuel bottle. Running the pump dry can also be detrimental to its longevity (submerged element needs fuel to cool the pump). I've been riding, racing, and wrenching on bikes for 45+ years... covered 2M+ road miles all over the country on everything from little 125cc scoots to bloated touring pigs... been there, done that many times over. --QM

You don't have to go anywhere. They come to you so you can drive it off the lot.
That's what I did when I just got my last vehicle.
I had to take out a new policy because they didn't have my car plates too transfer over. Then I went into an insurance place canceled the new policy and transfer my plates over.!
If you were getting your license then you would probably pull your hair out because it sounds like your tax place for your bike insurance!!

As for the next bike. I think that Ducati sounds interesting but there's an easy way to figure which bike to do next!

No, we have 3 steps to insuring and registering vehicles in Texas. First, you need current proof of insurance. Second, we take the vehicle to an authorized inspection station where they verify basic safety stuff (lights, signals, tires, horn, etc) and note the proof of insurance. Third (last), we go to the county tax office to pay for the vehicle registration, where they verify the insurance and inspection status... then issue the registration. The inspection for motorcycles is $7/yr, and the registration is $55/yr. 😉👍 --QM

There is a method for gauging fuel level that long predates elaborate electrical measurements. It is called a dipstick. If you need an explanation of how a dipstick works then you are one.
Buy a pint can of small engine fuel at Walmart to carry with you and you can simply wait to run out of fuel to know how many metric units of distance you can cover on a fill-up. As long as you have the sealed can with you you will have fifty miles of emergency reserve.

Fuel-injected machines don't give much warning before they flame out, and that can be deadly in Houston traffic. The C3 doesn't have a low fuel warning light, so there are no second chances unless you're carrying a spare fuel bottle. Running the pump dry can also be detrimental to its longevity (submerged element needs fuel to cool the pump).
I've been riding, racing, and wrenching on bikes for 45+ years... covered 2M+ road miles all over the country on everything from little 125cc scoots to bloated touring pigs... been there, done that many times over. --QM
